We chose The Montana because it is basically 50metres from Gloucester Road Tube Station and an 8 minute walk from the Natural History/Science/V&A museums. The hotel is very clean and the ground floor bar area and reception are beautiful. The room was large with loads of storage/iron and board/hair dryer/shower over bath. we had a double and a single bed in the room. The mattresses and pillows were a very expensive quality and the bed linen was superb and changed daily. The room was air-conditioned and even though we were on the front of the hotel there was hardly any road noise due to the windows and very heavy curtains.

My wife and I are both in our 70's and the lift was out of order so we had to carry our luggage up 50 steps to our room! and every time we came in or out of the room we had 50 steps each way to negotiate.

Very nice hotel!! - good heating - very clean - kettle, coffee, tea, milk in the room - there is a fridge, too - bath tub, good shower - location is amazing - subway stop nearby - burger king, mc, pizza place, tesco nearby - nice speed wi-fi

I liked it was really clean, staff were friendly, localised next to the metro in centre London for really good price as compared to other properties

Booking was offering breakfast in price of room when you pay bit extra (it was continental) however when I booked in confirmation and on the reception desk it was no meal plan applied … very disappointed as I end up paying extra money to the room I have booked with breakfast included

We booked a family room, it had plenty of space, and all the facilities we required. The location was perfect for attending The Royal Albert Hall, the Natural history Museum, and extremely close to Gloucester Road Tube Station. Breakfast was superb, staff were brilliant, all so helpful and friendly. Thank you all

Very good location, close to Gloucester Road underground station and bus stops. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. A comfortable bed and very clean room.

Some of the decor was a little dated, but overall it was good value for money, compared to a lot of other London hotels

The location is very good, in the middle of the city, but not so busy street. Undeground stop is nearby. The room is a good size, the beds are comfortable. The service was very friendly, they let us check in earlier.

The elevator didn't work, but the stairs are not that difficult.

Our room was spacious double with a single bed (an upgrade) and it had all the features we were looking for. The room was quiet from the hotel noise but there is street level traffic noise but we're in South Kensington, London - no complaints! The front desk were very knowledgeable and accommodating - this was our second stay at the Montana. The location is easy walking distance to the Gloucester tube station and there's plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. We also walked to the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. Kensington Palace and Hyde park are a 15 minute walk in the other direction from the hotel. We enjoyed our continental breakfasts every day and the self serve buffet had a wide assortment of breads, rolls, fruits, meats and cheeses and fresh juices. The friendly staff also provided fresh coffee and teas as required. We're looking forward to our next visit! A good value property.

Nothing that we could think of.

The location was perfect for my purposes. I went to a multi-site conference, and this hotel was in the middle of it all. It is also a short walk to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park. There are a lot of eating options close by, including an Indian restaurant in the same building. I had a room on the top floor with a bath room. It provides really good value for money. Everything was clean and nice! The bed was perfect for me, really comfy if you like beds towards the firmer end of the spectrum. The included breakfast is a continental one, but it has a decent amount of options. (If you want things from a more English style breakfast, you have to pay extra.)

I guess you could say that some things like carpets, and furniture are a bit worn, but it wasn't something that bothered me. Nothing was broken. The pressure in the shower was a bit low.

we were greeted by friendly courteous staff, although we were too early to book into our room, we were able to relax at the bar with a drink. The whole of the lobby and bar area were beautiful appointed and clean, warm and welcoming. we were then able to have lunch in the connected Indian restaurant, this was a fabulous meal, complete with a delicious Indian white wine. Once our room was available we were able to see further into the hotel, everything we saw was decorated to the same standard as the lobby, bar and restaurant, very tasteful and fresh. The room was a standard double, adequate size for a short stay, with a very large TV, mini fridge, hair dryer, safe, dressing table/drink prep area, wardrobe with ironing board, iron extra pillows. Breakfast was a buffet continental (incldued) and cooked as an extra. Again new staff but all very friendly and efficient. Checkout smooth, polite request to visit again. We would use The Montana anytime we return to London. Very easy route to underground system for travel.

The bed was a little too hard for my personal preference, but others might prefer this. The bathroom was too small, very difficult to manoeuvre in drying and partially dressing. This is the only thing we would ask to change for a future visit a different room with a larger bathroom). (older and not so flexible these days)
