We chose The Montana because it is basically 50metres from Gloucester Road Tube Station and an 8 minute walk from the Natural History/Science/V&A museums. The hotel is very clean and the ground floor bar area and reception are beautiful. The room was large with loads of storage/iron and board/hair dryer/shower over bath. we had a double and a single bed in the room. The mattresses and pillows were a very expensive quality and the bed linen was superb and changed daily. The room was air-conditioned and even though we were on the front of the hotel there was hardly any road noise due to the windows and very heavy curtains.

My wife and I are both in our 70's and the lift was out of order so we had to carry our luggage up 50 steps to our room! and every time we came in or out of the room we had 50 steps each way to negotiate.

Very nice hotel!! - good heating - very clean - kettle, coffee, tea, milk in the room - there is a fridge, too - bath tub, good shower - location is amazing - subway stop nearby - burger king, mc, pizza place, tesco nearby - nice speed wi-fi

We booked a family room, it had plenty of space, and all the facilities we required. The location was perfect for attending The Royal Albert Hall, the Natural history Museum, and extremely close to Gloucester Road Tube Station. Breakfast was superb, staff were brilliant, all so helpful and friendly. Thank you all

I liked it was really clean, staff were friendly, localised next to the metro in centre London for really good price as compared to other properties

Booking was offering breakfast in price of room when you pay bit extra (it was continental) however when I booked in confirmation and on the reception desk it was no meal plan applied … very disappointed as I end up paying extra money to the room I have booked with breakfast included

Very good location, close to Gloucester Road underground station and bus stops. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. A comfortable bed and very clean room.

Some of the decor was a little dated, but overall it was good value for money, compared to a lot of other London hotels

Hotel is very conveniently located near the Gloucester Rd. tube station which has a direct line from LHR. It is near restaurants, pubs and fast food options on both Gloucester and Cromwell. It is an easy walk to a few museums and one could walk to Harrods. We had room 500 on the main floor for two teens and two adults. The bathroom worked well although the commode and tub are dated. The hotel is of good value since London is a very expensive city to visit. The kettle and fridge gave us some in-room eating options. Staff was very accommodating.

We were there in early July during an unusually hot summer. The AC left much to be desired.

We truly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the Montana hotel. Upon arrival, Shashi greeted us warmly and informed us our 2 rooms (for a party of 5) had been upgraded, which was welcoming news! Throughout our stay, Shashi and the other hotel staff (cleaning staff included) made sure we received the best service. This service extended to everyone at the "Light of India", the hotel's on-site restaurant. The food was excellent and so was the staff. The hotel is close walking distance to Gloucester metro station, and the hop-on, hop-off bus service. This made our travels very easy to visit parts of London. Huge props to Shashi and rest of the hotel staff for making our stay enjoyable!

The gap to get to the tiolet bowl was tight.

The location was excellent. Right on Cromwell Road junction. Two minutes walk to Gloucester Road station, near shops like Waitrose, Boots, Tesco express (long opening hour 6am-midnight), Pret, Gail’s and fast food restaurants. The 49 bus to Claplam junction goes right outside the door. Beds were really comfortable and room serviced daily. There is a sink, tv (lots of channels), hairdryer and a biggish fridge in the room. Also air con which is perfect for London in summer. There was also a radiator that could be plugged in for winter (but I would think the rooms would be warm in that season). It was value for money as I booked two days before travel and I found a very good rate for four nights over weekend

It is a bit dated but nothing that would impact on my stay. It says the shared bathroom is shared by 2 rooms on each floor, the bathroom was two corridors away on the floor for me - not a real issue but just for those to find where it is on check in, should your room have a shared bathroom allocation. There is a sink in the room so it is just access to the shower and toilet facilities.

At first, I was a little disappointed with the room. It was downstairs (but still a nice bay window - typical of older style homes in London) and seemed a bit smaller than I expected. But by the end of our stay, I was quite pleased. By European standards, it was actually a very spacious room. The bathroom was a nice size with a tub (as requested). The location was excellent - the Gloucester tube station was across the street, along with a number of cafés and a few restaurants. Also a Tesco Express, Waitrose and Boots. A Sainsbury's was only a 5 minute walk away.

The hotel is a bit dated, but it's been maintained very well. So you may feel a bit of 'ick' at first, but for me, this wore off. I didn't like that the room was at sidewalk level facing a busy street and intersection. Opening the windows meant that you'd hear a lot of foot and car traffic (and with a university nearby, there are a lot of kids showing off in their loud cars and motorcycles). But this is obviously not the fault of the hotel.

The location is very good, in the middle of the city, but not so busy street. Undeground stop is nearby. The room is a good size, the beds are comfortable. The service was very friendly, they let us check in earlier.

The elevator didn't work, but the stairs are not that difficult.
