I enjoyed staying at The Villa with my 12yo grandson. It’s a pleasant, clean, light and airy, well located building with a lift. The reception staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The self service breakfast is tasty and adequate with juice, tea/coffee, cereals, egg, hot dog sausages, baked beans, hash browns, croissants, buns, toast and jams. 😋 The location of The Villa is only a couple of minutes walk from Zone 1 Gloucester Road underground tube station. It’s near to a variety of food establishments and also a couple of reasonably priced supermarkets. There’s the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Music Museum only a 10 to 15 minutes walk away. These museums are all free. The Royal Albert Hall is across the road from RCM and its museum. These are only one tube station from The Villa, but we walked to this area. However, we used the underground to visit different parts of London during our stay. I hope to stay here again.

We were about ten minutes late for breakfast and the staff were excellent- instead of turning us away like many hotels would- they couldn't have been more accommodating and brought out all sorts of things that we could consume before leaving! Everything was done with a smile which was a massive plus. Nothing was too much for the catering team. The bedroom was fine to stay in for one night, and the bed was comfy. Check in and out was very smooth and there was no faff.

My bug bear in a lot of hotels is there wasn't a full length mirror- I was off to a wedding so this would have been really handy! This would be a really simple addition to the room :)

Great location, helpful & polite staff throughout. Good sized room & clean. Bathroom tiny, but had everything we needed. Thank you 😊

Unfortunately, the curtains were hanging off their rail, so they could not be closed properly & let in light very early in the morning. As they were so high, we weren't able to put them right.......although I would have expected staff to notice & rectify it before our stay! I was disappointed to see tinned fruit offered at breakfast. I appreciate apples & bananas were also available, but even fruit defrosted from frozen would have been markedly better.

Location was truly excellent. Just steps away from the tube station. The room was quite comfortable and nice, with coffee and tea available at all times. And we really enjoyed the breakfast. Last but not the least, just words of gratitude to the staff. Very friendly and willing to help at all times.

In my room at the 3rd floor the water pressure was quite low and barely sufficient to have a good shower. I was missing a shelf inside the shower room where to put the soap and shampoo. The elevator was our of order but not a big deal for me Despite the fact WiFi was at all times available, the connection was very slow.

The property has a good location, being two minutes from Gloucester Road Underground Station and I felt safe within the hotel and the surrounding area, having arrived back late at night from a trip to the theatre. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable and, although the room is on the small side, it was fine for me as a solo traveller. All appliances worked and I did not hear any noise internally or externally to the hotel. The was someone on reception as I arrived at 3pm, returned at 10.30pm and left at 6.00am in the morning. The room was more than I would normally pay, but reasonable in comparison to other hotels for a central location in London and only half an hour away by Underground to Victoria Rail and Coach Stations.

Great location, room size was actually not as bad as I expected, very clean room.

Room was so cold and we didn't realise until checkout that you have to ask the front desk to put it on ad they control it

I was unwell during my stay, and the young man on reception was very kind and changed my room to save my having to climb too many stairs. Unfortunately the lift was out of order, I don't blame the hotel for the inconvenience, things can happen. It's how they deal with problems that counts and they couldn't have been better and carried my case, which was a great help. Admittedly, parts of the hotel needed some redecorating, but all the important things were as they should be, clean linen, also the bathroom. There were ample tea/coffee supplies, (unlike a 4* hotel I had stayed in which fell short of those!). For such a superb location in London, I think the Villa Kensington offers excellent value for money, and feels very homely rather than grand. I would definitely recommend, and look forward to staying there again.

Other than some decorating needed there was nothing to complain about.

The location was great—right in South Kensington, close to museums, supermarkets, and the Underground, which made getting around the city really convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept, with everything I needed. It was in a quiet area, so I could relax easily. I especially appreciated how peaceful it was, as it made the experience even more enjoyable. The combination of convenience and comfort made this a great place to stay.

I received a call to my room two minutes before the check-out time (12 o'clock), reminding me to leave. I was already on my way downstairs to check out, so the call felt unnecessary and left me with an unpleasant feeling. I have never experienced this at other hotels, and it seemed overly strict, especially since I was checking out on time.

Good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff at a good price for London. Reasonably comfortable bed (not fabulous but more than just ok). A well equipped room and a good breakfast - not just the usual 'continental'. Absolutely fine choice for a night or two while in the South Kensington area.

The shower in my room had very poor flow. It was just a trickle, and because of that it took ages to warm up too. It was on the fourth floor and needs to be pumped. The lift wasn't working the night I stayed, but I was compensated with a free (and very good) breakfast. I would not mark the hotel down on that as I believe it was a temporary problem whilst it was being rebuilt.

Generally, the neighborhood is great. The hotel is on 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Road Metro Station. From there you can get to the main attractions in London. Just in front of the station is a Tesco market, Starbucks, Burger King. The Hide Park and the Kensington Palace, which are amazing, are on 10 minutes walk. The history and science museum as well. My point is that the location and the neighborhood are great. The hotel is basic, good for a short stay. Outside looks much better than inside.

Small rooms and very poor breakfast. One of the poorest I ever had in a hotel. The staff on the reception is not really communicative and helpful.
