A great family run hotel, we wanted for nothing while we visited. The staff are exceptional and always have time for their guests. I watched their attention to detail while they interacted with guests at breakfast. The location is close to Victoria train/tube station. Breakfast is delicious and well presented in a spotlessly clean restaurant. We would definitely without doubt stay here again.

My room was small, but it had everything I needed to feel comfortable. I felt safe in the neighborhood, and the location was great! Less than ten minutes walk from nearly all the bus stations to seeing major attractions, and very close to the Victoria Coach Station, which definitely was awesome considering I had tons of stuff to take to the airport on my last day :) I loved the complimentary breakfast from Pimlico Grid, and all the staff were amazing!

This is a wonderful small hotel located a short walking distance from Victoria Station. Physically it is two buildings combined into one hotel, so even with the lift a few stairs are needed to reach many rooms. The breakfast facility has a solid menu with continental options available to those who need to eat prior to 7:45am opening. Staff was delightful.

Please remind guests that breakfast reservations need to be made daily.

The accommodation is small but adequate (I’m not from the UK and in my country rooms are much larger than here). The room, bedding and ensuite were beautifully clean - best towels ever! The location is perfect - walking distance to all the major sights - if you required them, the train, tube and coach stations are 5 minutes walk away plus Uber pickup point and taxis nearby also. I’ve felt very safe walking around the area. The individually cooked breakfast was fabulous and the lighter option available early if you are off touring was excellent. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

Not really anything that I didn’t like.

The bathroom/shower was modern and immaculate with plush towels and a rain shower. A Nespresso machine is right in the room for shots of espresso. The cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent (veggie options!) and we looked forward to it every day. The ambience in the Pimlico Grid, where they served breakfast, was inviting and homey. The staff are wonderful. They even offered a light bite on the morning we had to catch an early flight, and this was very much appreciated. The location was close to all forms of transport; we especially liked Bus 24, which took us to a number of sites. There are some lovely restaurants in the neighbourhood, but the beauty of this area is the silence at night.

These are minor. The air con wasn't up to the 30+ degree days, making for some hot nights. I'm a light sleeper, and the creaky floors above us were a bit troublesome. A mini fridge would have been great.

The hotel was in a great spot within a short walk of Victoria Station which offers mainline and underground trains. It has a large bus and coach station. The breakfast was very good (and included in the price we paid) flexible time up to 10am The food was of a good standard, hot (if that's what you chose) and plenty of choice. Nothing was a trouble for the staff. Friendly, helpful and very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Windermere to friends and family. The room was nicely furnished, a reasonable size and perfect for our needs.

We booked this hotel because of its close proximity to the site of the Chelsea Flower Show and its ready access to coach, train and underground stations. Anything else would be a bonus, we thought. It turned out this was a great choice as the hotel has a lot to offer in its own right. There’s period charm, clean and well maintained accommodation and very professional and friendly staff. Nick the owner helped out at breakfast and made personal contact with every guest. His advice and personal observations were much appreciated. He also arranged for us to be collected by a friendly London cabbie at 3:30am.

The property is situated about 10 walk from Victoria tube station. It is a family run business with great attention to detail. The breakfast is lovely, freshly cooked and served to your table. On the morning-of our departure we booked breakfast for seven am, and they had no trouble having it ready for us. Breakfast is served between 7.45 -10.00, eleven on Sundays. They are very accommodating. They have excellent staff, who take good care of the customer. Rooms are cleaned daily. Be aware you have to book your breakfast the day before.

Nothing to dislike as such. Just the bathroom is very small, not a problem for London accommodation as we were out every day. However the bathroom consists of toilet and shower, in our room the hand wash basin was slotted into the desk area of the room. It was not in the bathroom. Pictures of room I booked did not reflect this. Also tv is closer to the ceiling than to the floor. As people who were not out very late we liked to catch up on news etc when we came back.

There are so many qualities about this stay that really put it over the top for us! 1) Our flight arrived well before check-in time so we needed to kill several hours before getting to our room. We were able to check our bags with reception and they placed them in our room for us. Also our intense jet lag made it difficult to keep up our energy so we still came back to the hotel before the room was ready. The owner Sylvia took the extra step to prioritize our room for us and let us rest with refreshments in the restaurant downstairs. 2) The hotel was in the Pimlico area in Westminster. We loved how close the Victoria underground station was, but the quietness in the evening was absolutely wonderful, despite still being somewhat central. 3) Each staff member we interacted with went above and beyond. They were so friendly and very helpful when we needed advice! 4) Breakfast at the Pimlico Grid was delicious! So much comes with the provided breakfast for hotel guests. Enough to satisfy any range of appetite. 10/10 We WILL stay again!!!

My wife and I enjoyed the size of our room--a deluxe double with a king bed--and quality of bathroom, etc. We were able to unpack and feel very much at home for our week in London. Our bed was very comfortable, linens excellent, and the room was largely quiet--this is an older building with typically creaky floor boards in places, but nothing too disruptive. The filtered water and tea/coffee that is refreshed each day in-room is greatly appreciated. As I'd read in reviews, the breakfast was simply outstanding. Not only was the food selection terrific and coffee very good, it was all made to order and the family-run staff kept all running well. It is one of the few breakfast rooms I've experienced that looks, smells, and feels exceptional. The location is excellent--we took the Picadilly line from Heathrow to South Kens; then the Circle/District for short distance to Victoria Station. Ditch the Google map directions--walk directly out of the tube station to the "Wicked" theatre sign on Wilton Road and follow that 5-7 minutes into a neighborhood that has some good restaurants, a Nero coffee shop and a nice size grocery; turn right on Warwick Way and you are there in another five minutes. It was a pleasure to stay at the Windemere as a base for day trips to Oxford, Windsor, and Paris (St. Pancreas is close via tube), as well as enjoy Christmas carols at the Royal Albert, and see the sites of the city, generally. Excellent.
