It is rare to experience a PERFECT stay. The Lion Inn was exactly the perfect stay. When we arrived at this amazing 1600s Inn, we were so warmly welcomed by Kealiegh. Unsolicited, she gave us an upgrade to a beautiful quiet room. This huge ensuite room , newly renovated in January this year , with a King bed included tea and coffee, a kettle, fresh milk provided and home made biscuits. There was a huge bath tub which was a welcome luxury after a long walk. We had dinner in the restaurant adjoining the Lion Inn, which, by the way has just been awarded a Rosette. Dinner was exceptionally good, despite the lack of fish options on the menu. This was simply due to its popularity. Breakfast was cooked to order. All of the staff go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience. Wish we'd been here for longer! Thanks Kealiegh, Lottie and Karyn!! PS We loved the little night light beside the toilet! Brilliant idea.

Beautifully and tastefully furnished rooms in a recently refurbed country pub setting. Excellent and attentive staff and although very busy, service in restaurant and bar was good and seemed well organised.

We stayed during Cheltenham Festival week so it was very expensive - checked when we got home today and a two night stay next week is just over half what we paid - supply and demand! A very old building with limited space so no wardrobes which we cooed with for a two night stay and also size dictated that the shower cubicle was very small. However the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen of superior quality so all in all a very nice place to stay

Really enjoyed our stay in the Lion Inn. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast and dinner were both excellent. Great location, public car park is really close by and you're right in the centre of town which is lovely to wander around. We'll definitely be back to stay again.

Next time I wouldn't book the same room, it was directly over the kitchen and all night there was some sort of fan/loud hum that clicked on and off constantly. I would stay again but book a different room.

The Lion Inn has been one of our favorite places to stay on this month-long trip of ours. We had the pleasure of meeting Alex, the GM, at check in and he was so welcoming and helpful. He seemed genuinely happy to have us staying there. Additionally, the room was lovely with lots of fun character and a very comfortable bed. The location was perfect for our needs, and the hotel restaurant had excellent food.

We had a genuine welcome when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and they booked us in for dinner (and breakfast!) by a log fire in the snug. Our room was atmospheric and historic but comfortable and although it was just above the bar, not too noisy. It was mothering Sunday and the staff ran over the road to buy flowers for a father who had forgotten to order them and whose mother was staying at the Lion.

There was no lock on the bathroom door - which might not worry most people. And a rather confusing shower with lots of knobs and levers but no instructions. We googled it!

Perfect for an overnight or weekend stay, especially if you're walking the cotswold way or exploring the area. We stayed in a twin room, over the bar area. Super comfortable beds, newly decorated, fresh coffee, tea and biscuits, lovely hot shower.. Staff friendly and professional. Good communication before arrival. Kudos to the chefs in the kitchen. We had a superb evening meal, and the breakfast was a real surprise.... absolutely delicious! We thought the room might be noisy as located over the bar area but wasn't an issue at all.

Lovely village inn in Winchcombe. We stayed there while cycling in the Cotswolds. Our room was small but beautifully furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great after a day cycling. Breakfast was delicious and we ate dinner there too - also delicious. The inn is right in the middle of the village but parking is easy as there is a public car park at the rear and there is direct access into the pub. Would definitely stay here again.

The location was excellent, the pub and the room were amazing, historic and well maintained. Good looking pub and beer garden is beautiful and relaxing. The room was spacious, the bathroom was nice, overall the stay was brilliant. The restaurant for breakfast was amazing, everything was cooked fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. The bar staff were super friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere of the pub was relaxed and comfortable and I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

There was no handle or lock on the bathroom door and as I was sharing with a friend, I didn't want to share the intimate bathroom moments with nothing holding the door closed. The other problem was the lack of power outlets in the room. I understand it is an ancient pub and we were above the bar, in the historic room, and electricity wasn't a thing when the pub was built, but maybe one more outlet would have been useful or an extension cable?

Was right next to the Fantasy Forest festival, perfect location :D Staff was very friendly and I loved seeing people’s dogs the hotel.

- Booking WAY overcharged us for the room. I paid about £270 for one night, and then the next day we looked at rooms on the app again and there was a suite available for £226 a night … we had the smallest room. When I asked the staff I was told Booking was the one to set the prices. I think they purposely bumped up the prices because of the festival, I felt completely ripped off. -Had a minor issue with the shower that was hard to start/adjust the temperature but someone from the staff came up and helped us with it !

This was absolutely my favorite accommodations in our month-long visit to the UK. We were in the Oakley, and it was beautiful and very comfortable. The interior design team did a fabulous job on this room. From the bed linens, wallpaper, headboard, and the beautiful chandeliers with vaulted ceilings. Everything was top quality. The staff was very accommodating, the food was fabulous and we met some really nice people while we were there.
