Windermere Manor Hotel is such a beautiful building to look at, and the surrounding gardens are very nice to sit in and read a book. I forst noticed how peaceful the place is, just listening to the sounds of nature. The hotel restaurant is split into 4 sections, a bar area, lounge, conservatory, and chapel, food was very nice, and reasonably priced, and staff very friendly. Hotel is located close to Bowness and Windermere Village, if you like going for walks there's local hiking trails, and Orrest Head view point is 30 mins away by walking. Swimming pool was a bonus, was expecting it to be busy however had the pool all to myself on my first morning. Would definitely stay again.

Shower pressure wasn't at its best, and hot water sometimes took awhile to heat up.

Dog friendly and lovely gardens and easy to get to the ferry to visit Beatrice potters House at Hill top .The hotel also had a swimming pool .The food was nice as we're the staff.A beautifull building also .

Room 11 and 14 water pressure is known to be poor due to being furthest away from the hot water pump .Unfortunatly we were in room 14 and the hot water was almost none existing so had to let it run for a very long time before anything came through .We were woken up at 2.45 am with noisy people in the corridor outside our door coughing and what sounded like them being sick so they must have been out drinking to much .

Fantastic sized room for us and our 1 year old daughter, the bed was incredibly comfy and the hotel is in a great location and really family friendly while also being suitable for couples, senior travellers and dog owners too. Breakfast was delicious (self-serve buffet of hot and cold food and drinks) and by gosh we were full both days. The staff we encountered were always friendly and helpful and interacted with our daughter too, not just us, which was a nice touch.

Service in the evening was slower than you would get if you ate out in a restaurant but that was only because there was only one member of staff serving on the bar, taking orders, running food out and helping to do desserts too. He did a good job and handled how busy it was well, but it did mean we waited a bit longer and didn't get our last drinks or kids ice cream and the dessert you could tell had been made in a rush but this is no fault of his as he was incredibly busy and we still enjoyed our evening. The bathroom in our room also had a bit of a funny drain smell and when we arrived the bin hadn't been emptied in the room from previous guests but none of these things spoilt or affected our trip and we would return again in a second!

Location - great location, we walked down to Bowness and had a short 5 min drive down to the water activities on Ambleside. Having a drink outside while the sun was setting over the lake was just beautiful. Staff - everyone was so friendly! We had a late snack in the lounge which was kindly provided even though kitchen was closing. Room was cleaned when requested after housekeeping had missed us. Breakfast staff really lovely and warm. Swimming pool - kids loved having access to the pool although it was a bit cold for me (admittedly I get cold everywhere even Dubai!) so would have liked a warm pool. Room - large room which was comfortable for a family of 4. Clean bathrooms with plenty of toiletries. Breakfast - great selection! Coffee and drinks selection was good too.

The property is great value for money but if I had to be really fussy and pick one thing I didn’t like it was the lack of fridge. Would be nice to have a fridge in the family rooms as when travelling with children it’s always good to store snacks for long days.

The hotel was lovely, set in a lovely grounds not far from the Lake. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was a good size for a family. The food in the restaurant was really nice and good value for money. The pool was also a nice bonus and a nice clean area.

The cleanliness in the room was not great, particularly the bathroom, there were a lot of stray hairs knocking around which was a bit off putting. WiFi in the room was also not great. Also we had audio subtitles in our tv which we could not turn off, staff were also unable to help, so this was a bit annoying as we couldn’t watch tv.

We only stayed here for the one night but wish we stayed longer! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was great (if you can drive or you’re wanting to walk), the breakfast in the morning was great with lots of options, and our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

The only thing that wasn’t amazing about this hotel was the limited food options in the evening, the menu itself had lots of options but some of the menu wasn’t available, however we still ordered and the food that came was still very nice!

Very lovely hotel, tranquil with a lovely view of lake Windermere, beautiful gardens, helpful attentive staff, dog friendly, nice breakfast, comfortable, pretty and peaceful setting. Good to have the swimming pool. Dinner available and nice bar. Clean room, comfortable bed.

Close by to busy A road so difficult to walk safely, bit daunting with all the cars whizzing past so didn’t feel comfortable walking too far! Easiest with this location to be driving rather than on foot walking the dog safely! Also floorboards bit noisy, woke up to the room above creaking and people walking stomping across the ceiling ! Bit like elephants above! Unfortunately can hear other guests! Not the greatest of sound proofing albeit peaceful! I did sleep fine there!

I slept in this paradise 2 nights, the room was clean the bathroom also in the room there was also the ironing board and the iron, the kettle with coffee, and tea bags.etc etc. The swimming pool is Fantastic.The breakfast was delicious, bacon, beans, scrambled eggs, coffee cappuccino croissants, juices etc etc, I also had dinner one evening only, I ordered a sirloin steak medium rare it was a delight. cooked to perfection, congratulations to the legendary and professional Chef, thanks also to the girl and the boy who served me. Thanks also to the boy who serves breakfast in the morning very professional friendly and very courteous. I enjoyed it very much Thanks to everyone. I recommend this hotel/restaurant in Windermere.

location was very good staff very attentive and pleasant room was very spacious liked that there was somewhere to sit other than on the bed outside seating was good .how many hotels have indoor swimming pools at this price range excellent . Food was good and hot

Room was very warm and unable to turn temperature down WiFi was nearly non existent pillows whilst being numerous were all too full mixture of flatter & full would be good. table that kettle and tea/coffee was on was a bit on the low side not much space left to utilise facilities small thing but did have impact however the 2 kitkats were a lovely addition

Stayed in an Annex room with a patio. Very nice and comfortable, although quite near a road junction so some noise, but not too bad. The Annex has some more parking spaces if main Hotel car park is full. Hotel location is good, with a nice view. Food is quite good, we ate at Hotel restaurant every night as it was reasonably priced. The hotel pool is nice, we swam there a couple of times. You get the evening sun shining through the windows. We walked to Bowness one day, but a bit far to do every day. Staff were pleasant.
