the room to move around was adequate, beds very comfortable. The area was quiet, even thought on a main street. Location-excellent to the main freeway and restaurants. We even decided to stay there on our return trip. The family that owns the property were very very nice.

the water pressure in the shower could use a boost and they need grab bars in there too.

Castle Rock is very easy to find, inexpensive, and close to many restaurants and shops. The manager at the front desk was very nice when I checked in. He told me he would be available until 11pm. and 8am. if I needed anything and suggested good restaurants to eat with my family. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, towels were clean and soft, and the shower was also clean. There was a small refrigerator, folding table, and chair to play cards or eat. I was very impressed staying at Castle Rock and would definitely stay there again. Thank you, Castle Rock!

No food/breakfast is offered, but they have future plans to have breakfast. Hopefully, they can get the needed permits to cook breakfast.

Very friendly and very informative--they really try to anticipate what questions guests might have, like how do you work the air conditioing, and show you when you check in. Good facilities in the room in terms of good air con, fridge, even the kleenex and toilet paper are good quality.

Our room was by an outside light that was so bright, we could have read a book all night long. The light finally went off about 5am. There was no ice in the ice machine and the office was closed in the morning so we couldn't get any. We just wanted to put ice in a cup of coffee because there was no microwave to heat the coffee in our thermos. There is no coffee machine in the room and while it looked like there may have been coffee in the lobby, given the lobby was closed we couldn't acess it. And, there is no microwave in the room. The mattress quality is also very soft.

The price for the room was better than most that we paid for on our entire trip. The room was super clean and looked as if it was newly renovated. One could actually see the vacuum marks on the carpet. The bed was comfortable and so was the room. We arrived somewhat late to the room but the staff showed us to the room and was very friendly.

The hotel does not have someone at the place after a certain time so check-in needs to be done before that time. Not really something that we didn't like but just for others to know if they stay here. It was not a deal breaker for us at all.

Large DBL Q bed room, large counter top space with dresser, desk and short suitcase bench. Comfortable beds. Good BR with sink inside….also sink outside BR, both with large counter space. Good water pressure with hot water. TV with good reception. Fridge and microwave both worked well. Front desk personnel very helpful and pleasant. Has self laundry to use on site and worked well. Pickleball, basketball and mini golf (right outside door and actually was quiet) also has in/outside pool…all saw some use over the week.

Room rather dark unless you have curtains open. Carpeting appeared clean (prefer laminate). Towels fair, not very fluffy. On-site restaurant not open (finishing renovation at time of stay). Complementary breakfast space a bit tight (maybe due to renovations).

Room was incredibly clean. It was simple: bed, night stands, 1 dresser, TV, mini fridge, shower. All the basic necessities for a 1 night stay. I generally don't walk on motel room floors barefoot because the carpet is just yuck. This entire motel is loved and well taken care of. The carpet was still soft! My room was tucked away in the back downstairs, so it was nice and quiet (for the most part. See comments below). The lighting was good. Plenty of options between vanity light, overhead light, or nightstand lights. Despite the flood light outside my window, the blackout curtains did their job! The ac unit worked beautifully. Starbucks is right next door, and it's located near several fast food places, Target, and NAU.

A few recommendations: please have some kind of shower handle. Despite the shower mat, the tile can be very slick. I knew it wasn't a handicap room, though, when I booked. Please consider changing your coffee pots from filter/loose coffee to pods. More sanitary. Also, please place a latch lock on the doors. It's nice to have that secondary safety in place. I did hear kids running up and down the back hallway through the gate, and at one point, one of them jimmied the door handle. I knew it was them, though, and had placed the metal folding chair under the door handle for added security.

Castle Rock is more like a hotel than a motel. The room was attractive and very clean and the beds were comfortable. They provided wooden hangers, large thick bath towels, and a rain shower. The family who owns the property has put thought and effort to create a comfortable and clean experience. Great job!

The road was a little busy but in our room we could hardly hear the traffic.

We chose Castle Rock because it was close to everything in Flagstaff and the train noise would not impact our sleep. And for that purpose it was perfect. The room was spacious and furnished very well. The bathroom was clean and nice - the shower had plenty of water pressure. We loved the bed, the sheets were very soft. The air conditioner worked well. Once in the room there was no street noise even though the property was on a main street with a lot of traffic.

The parking was tight. Of necessity it's best to back the car in so you can get out of the space easily. The main street always has traffic.

The staff/owner/manager (not sure who it was) takes clear pride in the place. We were shown to our room and shown how to use the air conditioner and TV, as well as pointed out the mini fridge and complimentary snacks and water. The room appeared to be newly updated. It was beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the towels were the softest I have ever used. Loved the shower with the shower head coming from the ceiling. Felt like I was being rained on.

It is not really a "didn't like" but more of a feature that is difficult (but manageable) when traveling with a child: room was small and the sink was outside the bathroom.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and air conditioned. The mini-fridge came in handy. The bedside lamps had charging ports, which were very convenient. The free parking was much appreciated and the location was great!

The bathroom door squeaked loudly and was hard to open and close because of the high pile of the carpet underneath it.
