Definitely was surprised by the vastness of the hotel. Many different buildings with different levels to each. It felt like I was walking into my own condo/apartment. I also loved the breakfast buffet for the $12. It was really great food and coffee before my flight home.

I felt a little spooked by the haunted stories I read, but this had nothing to do with my stay. I did see what I thought was a woman in a white gown walking quickly near the 400's building, but the way she went there were only stairs and I never saw her go down any stairs. I also didnt hear any doors open or shut. So Im hoping I didnt just see my first ghost.

I loved the proximity of the property to Old Town and to downtown, etc.. I would definitely stay here again.

We switched rooms after the 2nd night as we wanted a more “updated” room as shown in some of the marketing materials. We were moved to the Plaza level where the rooms are larger and in the center of the complex. Fortunately, I’m in good health and decent shape but for someone who has trouble with mobility it would be extremely challenging for them to navigate the complex if they’re on the upper buildings 600, 700, etc.

Our room was spacious with a couch, fridge, microwave, and a nice table for eating at. The location set-up with separate buildings for the various rooms was cute and offered a great view. The bed was comfortable and the staff at the front desk was very kind. They helped out with extending my stay when our plans to travel north were cut short by the fires in the area. The location is great - just walk downstairs and you're in Old Town. I would definitely enjoy staying here again.

Some of the fixtures in the bathroom seem a bit old. Switching the tub to shower mode took a little effort. Part of the tiles in the flooring seemed a bit damaged and maybe a little loose, though there wasn't anything hazardous. The air conditioner seemed like it might be temperamental because the temperature in the room was a little inconsistent, but I didn't mess with it at all, so I might not have had it on the right settings.

Nice hotel in the flavor of Old Mexico. Great staff, room w a balcony view, great shower & white, fluffy towels! Best of all the location in a fun environment of shops & restaurants with easy walking to Hop On, Hop Off, city trolley & buses. The breakfast buffet was good & the best price in town. Some rooms may have lots of stairs, so request near elevators or in 800 Building, close to front entrance. Thankful for the airport shuttle.

This is a lovely place to stay. Old town is a very nice area that is close to the bus and tram system so that you can easily visit many other areas if you want. The hotel itself is very nice with all the amenities that you need, and very lovely people. I would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed it all. I can't think of anything to criticise. At the end of our stay we had a bit of a time getting a cab to take us to the airport and we started a day early. I should have used Uber but was having cell phone issues. Certainly not the fault of this lovely hotel.

It is a beautiful property in Old Town that is like a resort. The rooms are located on several buildings, there is a pool, and a nice restaurant. It is safe and the staff was super friendly. The view is amazing, we had a room with a balcony.

The rooms need updating, they still have bathrooms like in the 70s, and a few things needed repair in our room at our arrival. The engineer was excellent and took care of everything the same day.

Room was clean and the maid service was exceptional. Great location in old town.

We have stayed at Hacienda Hotel before. It was just as good as before, but only one thing was disappointing, the pool was closed down the day after the fourth of July holiday and remined closed for the weekend. We were not able to use it. I had requested a room by the pool when we checked in. It was disappointing

The property grounds were nice and it was great to be so close to the old town area. The beds were comfortable, and it worked well for our 1 night stay. The breakfast buffet was good but had very limited options. However, it was nice to have a place on the property to eat, as the restaurants in the old town area do not open until later in the morning.

There were two bottled waters in the room which we thought were complimentary, however I received an additional charge to my CC once we checked out for $8.00.... so we were charged $4.00 per bottle of water! I think this is a bit much for water and there should be a notice in the room stating they are not complimentary.

This hotel is exceptional. We only stay at this hotel if staying in Old Town. It is walking distance to pretty much everything. The hotel is well kept and is beautifully landscaped. The staff is always friendly and always tries to accommodate an early check-in , if rooms are available. They are very accommodating to provide a parking pass before check-in if my room isn't available for early check in. This is by far the best place to stay in Old Town. The price is also very reasonable. It is are go to hotel to have a relaxing weekend..sometimes even just for the day.

Very beautiful hotel at the heart of San Diego old town. The hotel is sitting on a slope overlooking the streets with a great view of sunset. The hotel was very quiet when we were there and there were a lot of parking spaces. It's only a short walking distance to the main street with a lot of restaurants.

There's nothing that we didn't like but the there are a lot of stairs and that can be a problem for people with mobility issues.
