Paying for parking at the hotel-absurd Pillows were heavy as sand bags and too big Whatever happened to free breakfast?

I wasn’t expecting too much, having just stayed in a Hilton Doubletree in downtown LA that left much to be desired. However I was wrong. This is clean, spacious and comfortable (ergo the other one was none of those things). Easy walk from Old Town Station after the Amtrak from LA; I’m not sure I’d stay in Old Town on holiday as it’s a bit limited but this was great for public transport and close to where I needed to be. Nice modern bathroom, ?recently refreshed. I had breakfast included and while I may not have paid for the buffet normally it was perfectly ok, and the waitstaff fantastic and friendly. I had dinner one night in the restaurant which was actually a pleasant surprise; really good burger and absolutely outstanding wait staff. Given this I’m guessing the non buffet breakfast is good but can’t say for sure.

It’s quite expensive but then again it is San Diego. Front staff were fine but not in the same league as restaurant staff.

Our stay at this hotel was an absolutely delightful experience for our family. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a simple yet practical design that suited families with children. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, showing great patience and care toward our children, which made us feel truly welcome. Overall, this was an excellent choice for a family getaway, and we would definitely stay here again!

Is was in a good location to where I was doing work. The hotel was clean and well appointed.

The restaurant was really a cafe. And upon check-in they asked if we wanted room service (bed made, new towels) every other day. We said, yes. For a four day stay, we had room service only once and had to request new towels.

The place is immaculate & well designed. Rooms are spacious & clean. Beds are very comfortable. Location is literally walking distance to Old Town & the red line. Definitely coming back

Nothing not to like but, if I was going to nitpick, I'd say the bathroom doors. Never really like the sliders & they're heavy which could be a potential safety issue with the small ones (children). Put a towel down & the fingers should be fine

The location and close proximity to Old Town was great, and the hotel was overall fantastic.

The surprise parking charge of $25 per night. The fact that it was not listed anywhere on the booking site beforehand is very dishonest and predatory. I still would have booked had I known that was a factor, but the dishonesty definitely factored heavily into my overall rating. Do better.

Breakfast was very good. Dinner was well prepared and good quality. Room was comfortable and clean. It was easy to hookup to Netflix.

I was not told that there was under the building parking at check in, although I paid the parking fee. I went to dinner, came back to a full parking lot, so had to park in the street.

The location was great. We traveled from los angeles to SD on amtrak and it was a quick walk from there. I had forgotten a toothbrush, and the staff was great about getting one for me.

The air conditioner did not work well. The light was out in the shower. There was no bar soap for the sink. Only an empty box.
