Comfortable bed. Free coffee. Clean facilities. I’ve stayed here before under the previous owners. The property received a stylish update but still has its former charm

There are dressers in the room. I had no place to put my underwear and pajamas. They remained in the suitcase which was inconvenient. My other clothes hung in the closet. Unfortunately, my room was either and ice cube or no air at all. The air conditioner circuit breaker was reset and the room was a freezer. Also, the $7 continental breakfast was a good buy except the yogurt area was a big. Owl of yogurt and not individual containers. Or sneeze guard which makes this unsanitary. Also they were no tongs to grab bagels also not sanitary. Once these areas improve, I think it would be a great place to visit again. The bed was comfy and the area was quiet.

This hotel is a gem. I love its traditional style rather than a modern basic style like every other hotel. That gave it a more unique experience for me. The staff was wonderful, but I want to give extra kudos to the lady at the front desk that works the afternoon/evening shift. I loved her personality, and she was always helpful and nice. I also love the location of this place. It feels so remote, yet it's so close to downtown and to Buttermilk Falls State Park. Our room also had an amazing view, especially during sunset. The room was comfortable and the beds, especially the pillows, were amazing. The bathroom was the biggest hotel bathroom I've ever seen and it felt luxurious. Everything was clean and cozy. I wish I had time to stay longer so I could have had time to check out the spa. If I'm ever back in this area, I will be staying here again.

My only issue was that when I went to check out, no one was at the front desk. I tried calling it from a phone in the entry way, but the ringer was extremely low so no one heard it. I almost had to just leave a note with my room key to let them know I left, but then someone showed up right before I did that. I know we checked out much earlier than most people do because we had a long drive ahead of us so we needed an early start, so I just assume they weren't used to having people check out that early. I'm not bothered by it and I didn't let it affect my otherwise wonderful experience.

The staff were kind, helpful and friendly. The inn was undergoing renovations, but the signs were clear about where to go for an alternate check-in (spa office) and where not to go to avoid construction. The king bedroom and bathroom were charming with wooden floors and two-sink attractive vanity. It was quiet. On Friday/weekdays, we could choose items for a bagged continental breakfast the night prior to pick up at front desk... good, convenient & included in price.

The jets in the room tub were too loud/powerful for tub size. Breakfast (included) on weekend in the interesting, separate restaurant building was minimal (similar to bagged weekday options), although there were bagels one could toast. No one was in attendance, which surprised us because we thought it was a restaurant where we might order a full breakfast, even if for additional cost.

Fantastic location and incredibly pleasant stay. Super comfy bed with a light comforter. Room was squeaky clean. A continental breakfast was only a few dollars each day and the dining area lovely. Not sure why this amazing place wasn't packed. Very quiet with fabulous views out the windows. And, bonus for sustainability - the windows open! So when the air cooled after dark you could have the windows open. We couldn't try the Bistro as it only opened Thursday through Sunday and we were there Monday through Thursday am. There is a spa on site. Such lovely and helpful staff and when we had a minor problem with the AC unit it was promptly fixed. We were offered a new room, but didn't feel we needed it. Location is a few minutes from Ithaca and the Finger Lakes are close. We were able to drive along Cayuga lake and then up to Geneva and around Seneca Lake, stopping several times for attractions and still made it back with plenty of time to relax. I saw several people with dogs at the hotel; kudos for allowing pets as we have often traveled with our dog or cats.

Would have liked to try the Bistro.

I only stayed at the hotel for one night on my way to see family in Canada. It was also my first time in Ithaca and I enjoyed my stay immensely. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or the spa since my stay was short but I look forward to my next (longer) visit.

It was perfect and I really liked the location. It was peaceful and quiet but a quick 10min drive to Ithaca. I also noticed that it is close to many of the state parks and areas of interest.

LOVED our stay. The room and hotel were gorgeous. The staff was exceptional. Loved the complimentary beverages with a generous pour, prompted me to buy a bottle of the excellent wine. Loved the delicious food at the Bistro. Loved the gorgeous grounds and the spaciousness of the room, and the books! The robes were cozy and the view was relaxing. Loved the proximity to Buttermilk Falls. Loved that the property was pet friendly, we enjoyed meeting some adorable dogs. The lobby was so cozy with a beautiful fireplace. Can't gush enough, and we will definitely be coming back!!!

We booked through Booking.com so this isn't on the hotel, but two queen beds was advertised but it was actually two full beds, so we all ended up feeling a bit cramped while sleeping. My partner is a large man so he took one bed and my daughter and I tried to sleep together on the other, but it would have been nice to have the Queen beds. Didn't love the products as they were drying, so glad we had brought our own shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. Sad that the spa was not open while we were there.

The hotel was a clean for the most part. The free cookies and coffee/tea in the lobby was a nice touch. The rooms are a nice vibe for getting away. It was also nice that there is a hiking trail that is right behind the property. It was a beautiful and peaceful hike. Majority of the staff was kind. They give guests one free drink for every night, also great! The bistro was excellent when we went for breakfast. The food was marvelous and it was so quiet and peaceful. The waiter Nicole was such a sweetheart and her service was exceptional!

There was only small complaints. There was a fake fingernail that I found on the bed. Also the terrace in our room was not inviting at all. This is a simple upgrade that they can do to make the stay worth while. The terrace floor paint was completely chipped and looked terrible. It was also wet from a leak that was coming from the terrace above. It was such a beautiful landscape outside and it was a shame that we could not sit on the terrace to enjoy it. Definitely would have been a highlight of the stay. Please repair this.

We stayed in a king room with a fireplace. The room was beautiful, cozy, comfortable without feeling stuffy. Loved the fireplace in the room, the balcony, and the jetted tub. Even though the property was under construction, there was no debris or noise. Wouldn’t have even known if it wasn’t for the sign.

Included breakfast was disappointing - didn’t see any cups for coffee out when we went into the bistro, and only options were bagels/muffins, cereal or yogurt.

Very spacious and comfortable room. Well-appointed bathroom with plenty of hot water. Filtered water bottle taps. Well maintained coffee and tea station in lobby. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice spa gift shop. Relaxing outdoor seating.

Just a couple minor areas for improvement: Hair dryer needs replacement, would have been nice to have a small freezer in the mini fridge to chill ice packs.

continental $7/person in lobby - cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea at hotel; also offered breakfast bigger, heartier options in their bistro. Great tea selections. Friendly, helpful staff! Delicious and wonderful bistro service!!! Awesome spa facility & staff!! Thanks Garth, Lila, & Sophia!!! Great access to buttermilk falls trail!
