Beds, pillows, & comforters are fluffy and very comfy! Room was clean. Location is good, Valet parking was easy! The hotel lobby was beautiful and from the 1920s. The pool was nice with fountains on the back wall-(but ALL of pool was only 3 ft deep.) They even give a free tour of HAUNTED room 311! (You have to sign up for that.) Staff was VERY quick to please you! Keurig coffee machine in room or Starbucks downstairs. mini fridge in room.

Room service food was just ok with hardly any choices. Bell hops pushed the luggage cart for me but basically watched you load & unload. (I am a senior & needed help.) Pool was only 3 ft deep with NO hot tub. In room Keurig coffee maker with NO creamer, sugar or stirrers. NO bathrobe in room as promised.

Loved the values of this hotel it oozes historical charm but at the same time has a very high standard of quality and facilities. The staff are amazing and the settings means that you can access all that the area has to offer. Indoor pool is a bonus and the bar in the evening is both lively and fun.

This is the part where I look at why I cannot score this particular property 10/10. The in-house restaurant has great reviews and although we enjoyed parts of our meal something my wife ate didn’t agree with her. In the area around the hotel there are some very good up and coming restaurants one of which we ate in the following night with no problems.

I love the nostalgia and the fact this hotel has been operating non- stop since 1872 is astounding. Beautiful and comfortable. I was actually visiting for work on this latest trip but next time I will make the trip with my husband. I want visit the Aquarium and the Hunter Museum. This hotel is not only beautiful but it's in a fantastic location. Even though you pay for parking it is valet parking so why not? The guys are very quick to get your vehicle. There is a Starbucks and an upscale restaurant called the Chop House you can also order decent food from the bar. You can also take a walk and explore other local restaurants that offer different menus and local shops because of its location. I LOVE this place.

There is nothing I didn't like about this place.

This property is stunning. It really does feel like stepping back in time. So much detail, it is beautiful. The staff are fantastic. Someone in our travelling party had an issue with their room being too close to the lift, which was a bit noisy and they moved both of us to upgraded rooms. Pro tip- request a room away from the lift!! It was handled so quickly though. We did the tour of room 311 and the man who took us there was great! They really do a good job. Super handy with Starbucks downstairs, a restaurant and a bar with lighter meals.

Something small - there is no music in the downstairs bar which markets itself as being speakeasy styled. The staff are in flapper dresses. The same jazzy music playing that’s playing in the lobby would be nice to add to the atmosphere!

Great location, Starbucks, Dinner, room, hotel Bridgemans is top notch.

The room was a bit damp unless you ran the AC on very cold. As a technical person, I would guess either the drain plugs need routing out....or because it's common to run the fan to create white noise to drown out the street, it is pulling in too much outside humidity when it is selected. Billing: I had them print out a bill at the end of my stay. While overall, everything is in the ballpark, the bill amount did not correlate well with actual postings to my CC.

We loved the location and the pool. The hotel felt like a venture back in time with the artwork reminiscent of the roaring 20s. The bed was comfortable, and we loved being able to text the concierge for our needs. Also, the room was huge.

Walking to the other wing to get to the pool felt a little creepy, but we did this after taking the ghost tour. I believe the hotel is doing maintenance or renovations in this area. A hot tub would be a nice addition to the pool area. A smart TV would be nice to sign in to apps but not a huge deal for us.

The room that I finally received was very nice and what I expected from the original booking.

The original room posted on booking.com was nothing like the room we received. Our room was a small cramped box' tucked away in a corner that you would not expect in a hotel with such eloquent features. Upon arrival we were impressed with the look and feel of the hotel only to be totally disappointed and a bit shocked when we saw our room. After accessing the situation we immediately informed the front desk of our disappoint and was offered another room at an additional cost. Be mindful of how these rooms are advertised as they look great on paper but may be totally different once you arrive.

Great location. Historic hotel. Food and drinks were great at the bar. Room was large.

Food was pricey (but delicious). This is the type of hotel where you have to tip and parking is valet only. I didn’t mind that, but if you aren’t prepared for that it might be a turn off. Probably my error but no one made up the room for the three nights I stayed—perhaps I needed to specifically request that? They did have a text contact to the front desk but I ultimately decided not to ask for housekeeping.

The building itself is very pretty, the interior is absolutely beautiful and leans completely into the theme they are going for. It's well decorated and well presented. The staff is friendly and very accommodating for any requests. The food was good and the bar was pretty cool, did not try the pool but the pool area was really well kept.

There are two distinct "towers" of rooms. The photos on Booking.com that show a really modern, sleek look are the rooms in the "Historic Tower" area of rooms. The rooms in the "Manor" are much more of a standard 2.5 star hotel room setup. Don't get me wrong the "Manor" rooms are fine, they're decent décor however they are not the "roaring 20's" vibe that the hotel and the website bang on about and overall it's just not quite how the photos on this website are presented it felt a little like a bait and switch.

The location of the Read House was perfect for downtown Chattanooga. I could walk to the major attractions. There were several wonderful restaurants for breakfast and dinner nearby. The ambiance of the property was lovely -- beautiful chandeliers, fun library, pool lounge, wonderful 1920s-30 music. Staff was friendly, polite and helpful.

Bathroom could use some remodeling as the tub was worn and caulking was a bit dark in the corners. Also, pillows and mattress were lumpy. Despite the need for some updates, the room was comfortable and spacious.
