Everything was wonderful

No hot tub area ..or pool

The location was amazing! Alamo, the Riverwalk, and countless other activities within a short walking distance. The old character that they kept during the remodel was beautiful! The price was phenomenal for the location!

There were quite a few sugar ants on the couch that we noticed. The bed was a platform bed, the edges where the mattress didn’t cover the platform, there was some hair and other lint type of things that could have been wiped out. Regardless, these are simple things that would not keep me from stay at the Gibbs Hotel again.

I love the history. The fact that this was an old office building from ages ago and they kept much of the original architecture. Also, THE BREAKFAST IS AMAZING!! I could eat those tacos everyday! They really thought of everything when it comes to a breakfast line up. Love that they keep ice cold fruit infused water by the front desk. Perfect on those hot days of sight seeing. The hotel manager is VERY resourceful and helpful giving restaurant recommendations and history of the hotel.

Valet could have been a little faster but I know they’re busy. When we arrived they weren’t doing anything, big guy and some other guy, but sitting and they didn’t try to help us get our bags on the cart or get the cart inside etc. When we left the young female and male who were working both were super helpful in helping us load our car so we made sure our tip reflected that as that’s what I expect with valet parking.

Location was fantastic! It was right across the street from the Alamo and not too far from the Riverwalk, maybe about a 5-10 minute walk. Room was conformable and updated, but expect the charm of an older hotel room. Breakfast was very good, fresh, and had a great variety.

Parking is a challenge here, so valet parking is the only way to park, and can easily get expensive over multiple days.

Room was quiet and small, but nicely updated bathroom with great shower. Enjoyed the old vibe of the restored 1909 property. Breakfast was ample but eggs totally tasteless. Good biscuits. Right next to Alamo! There is no real lobby space and that’s nice to have in a downtown hotel. Breakfast room is also a taproom but it’s pretty sterile. FYI there is a lot of downtown construction going on for next two years snd Gibbs wasn’t affected sound wise by it. That was nice!

Would like tastier eggs! And cheaper parking but that’s a factor at any property downtown.

I liked the fact that the front desk employees were very nice and professional. They were able to answer all of my questions. There was plenty of lighting in room. The bathroom was large and spacious, and I liked the big windows that let in a lot of natural light.

I didn't like the layout of my room. The desk was right in front of my bed, and I kept stubbing my toe to get past it. The bar was open at random times, not at all the times posted on the door. There was a vent over my head in bed that was very noisy and took some getting used to. Only basic tv channels were available.

Check in was very quick and Valet was helpful getting luggage to the room for us. Quiet room (405) even though we were right next to the elevators. Breakfast was better than other hotels I've stayed in the past. Biscuits and Gravy were wonderful!

The only problem with our room (405) was the shower. Very small space to wash and I'm only 5'6" and not overweight so I can only imagine if anyone larger tried to bathe in there. Also, the shower door was glass and had about a half inch gap on the side and within 10 minutes the floor was soaked from the door and all the way back to the toilet area. I had to use most of the extra towels to soak up the water standing. After looking closer, i could tell by the bottom of the door and wall that this has been an issue for a good while. The view from the 4th floor was over an ugly area/rooftop but again, nothing to make me not come back.

Great location right across the street from the Alamo. Friendly, very accomodating staff. Clean. The breakfast was good with a lot of choices. You pay for parking but that's pretty much true everywhere you stay in the San Antonio historic area and the valet is right at the front door and you can have your car anytime you wish.

AC blower was poorly placed right over the bed and VERY LOUD.-- woke us up every time it cycled on.. Room was quite small but adequate for 1 night.

This a very old hotel. You can smell it, but not a bad smell. You know when you go into an old home with original wood floors you can smell the wood. I like that smell. It is very clean and luxurious. It is not the Ritz of course but it is still a elegant hotel with character. Loved it. About 5 minutes walk to Riverwalk. The rooms I got was the view of the Alamo. It was big.

The valet was $43 with tax😳, but you are downtown in a historic building with ties to the Alamo. The bed was a little hard but still nice.

The location is perfect!! Directly across the street from the Alamo you couldn’t get any closer. Riverwalk is 3 blocks away. The room was very clean and well equipped the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The Valet Parking company is very slow. Requested my car the first day I was there and waited 30min outside and then found the overnight valet sleeping in a chair in the lobby which made me late for an event I was there for.
