The location is very close to everything downtown, so you can walk to the Alamo, restaurants, river walk, river center mall, and Hemisphere plaza is very close if you have kids and want to take them to a very cool park. The rooms are spacious and while they may be a few feet smaller than other hotel rooms, the layout feels much bigger. There is a nice cafe in the lobby along with a Tavern and bar is fully stocked with many options for drinks. They offer food in the Tavern, but we did not eat there. The lobby area is very nice and like all the historical information about Crockett that are displayed. They do offer valet parking only, but it is $45 a night. The good thing is you can request car as much as needed and you aren’t charged $45 each time so there is savings as other garages charge each time you leave. Also has a pool, which was nice, now that the days are hot. Our room window looked out into the lobby. Not sure if all rooms do this, but if you stay will see what I mean.

The TV was very small maybe 32 inches and most hotels now offer at least 50 inches. No cable channels like HBO offered, only basic cable channels offered. The tub was very old, and showed chips where it’s been refinished. Sink also had cracks, and for a historical hotel I thought it would be better updated because the sinks are modern, just old. The valet parking, which is all they offer is $45 a night and I guess that has just become standard but on top of that they expect a tip, which I think is a bit much, and maybe wait for tip on the day of departure . They offer a link to order the car so it’s waiting for you but the link does not let you get past tipping so we went down stairs to ask for car.

Everything no bother me and me and my kids where walking around the lobby and reading the stuff on wall around 11:30pm and every one was nice

When I checked in there was a older white lady that made me feel uncomfortable like if I wasn’t welcome there ! I’m a 6ft dark skin Mexican man blue collar and just her tone made me fell awkward and I asked her for a pen to I could give her my wife name because I have a hard time translating the letters from Spanish to English and it would have been easier for me to write it down and she responded with (I KNOW HOW TO SPELL) I was try to upset her I just have a hard time translating my wife name from Spanish to English she has a really long name. I kinda feel that some people find it hard to serve other races because in her mined a person like me should be serving her !

The Crockett is a small but very nice hotel! For the location, it was a very good price compared to surrounding hotels. I didn't get to check out all the amenities but the most important thing to me was the distance to the convention center and the riverwalk. The staff was very friendly and my room was very clean!

The room was small but if you're not planning on staying in the room much, it was decent. The bed could have been softer, although the sheets were nice. I don't know if there's a ramp in the hotel, there's still the big carts to carry bags up to your room, but keep that in mind when unloading.

Very nice Hotel and convenient location. Valet parking was great and we walked everywhere. We ate dinner at the Tavern there in the Hotel. This hotel shows the History of Texas and I would love to go back and stay longer and make time to read and study all the history that is on the walls of this hotel and relax in the lobby too. Very cool lobby/restaurant/bar in this hotel.

Only the construction going on at the Alamo. The Hotel is right there but we had to walk around the construction area. We will go back when that is all done!

The location was amazing! It’s right next to the alamo and so many other sites that we wanted to visit on our trip. The architecture was neat and the fact that there was a bar and restaurant downstairs was also very convenient. The room was cozy with nothing fancy but it was nice enough. Would recommend for anybody wanting to stay in the heart of San Antonio and really learn about the culture!

The valet price was a bit annoying, but atleast they did have a summer deal where it was $25 to park for a full day and we could use our car whenever we wanted. Not a horrible deal to be so central in the city and atleast we knew our car was safe. Just always wishing parking was free.

The front desk clerk was amazing. My friend arrived after I did and he had everything ready at the front desk- room number and key etc. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating, and the meals we had in the restaurant were very good. Since we did not have a car, proximity to the Alamo and good food choices nearby within walking distance were a must. The mall is directly across the street and we could access the Riverwalk from the mall. We wanted to stay in an historic hotel and would definitely stay at The Crockett again. Can't beat the location and the accommodations.

There is a lot of construction going on outside the hotel. However, the rooms were fairly sound proof and the noise didn't really bother us because we were out most of the day. We stayed on The Alamo side of the hotel.

The Crockett Hotel was close to sights I was interested in seeing (the Alamo), River Walk, Ghost Tour, Cathedral, etc. I do not drive, so it was important for me to be centrally located. The Hotel was very clean, the staff was very nice. Michelle at the Front Desk had some tips for visiting her city. My room was very comfortable and was clean.

I liked everything about my stay. The Hotel I will recommend to others and if I were to return to San Antonio, I would book there again. That says a lot about the property. I only ate at the restaurant once during my stay (mostly was out touring, so got lunch & dinner elsewhere), but my grilled cheese was very good.

The room was spacious and the bed particularly comfortable. We left a day early on 12/11 due to an incident described below. The hotel refunded us for that night, but the credit went to a Mastercard I don’t own. Have been in touch with customer service about this issue - but it hasn’t been resolved yet.

The decor was dark. I fell coming in through the bakery entrance and my partner also fell as he was trying to help me. That put a damper on the visit and was the reason we left a day early.

Parking was a small issue, price wise

I love that the valet and front desk greeted us by name that was a major plus. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. The building was stunning for being a older hotel everything was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable as well ! The location was perfect go out the back door of the hotel you are on a short walk to the Alamo and to many river walk entrances we parked the car and never touched it everything was in walking distances.

I didn't like that the mini fridge was connected to the wall switch just by habit of turning off the lights we would turn off the fridge as well so no cold waters. But did not ruin stay as to there was a ice machine just one floor above us.
