The location is perfect. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they helped us with all our questions. The breakfast was amazing, you get everything you can imagine. But, when the hotel was full, the breakfast area was quite crowded and hectic. Rooftop is nice, pool area is small but good for a little refreshment during the city stay.

The description of the rooms is a bit misleading. We booked a room with city view and had a house wall in front of our window. Additionally the room was quite small as well. After requesting we could change the room.

Never had a hotel pester you so much to get a 10 rating. It was far too much. Firstly we had to do a paper form on reviewing the hotel which was not a problem as we were waiting for our room to be checked. Then they wanted to sit with us and watch you write a review on booking.com giving them a 10 and saying I can help you do it. I said I would do it later on as we had to leave for the airport but they were being persistent and said it will be quick, I kindly declined and informed them we will do it later in our own time. I thought that would be the end of the matter but then later that day they WhatsApp messages me asking for a 10 rating again. Lovely hotel but tarnished at the end with their persistent request for a review. It was just too much and could have easily been avoided.

We have stayed in this hotel on 4 occasions. Every time we come to Hanoi we stay here. We would not stay anywhere else. The location is great, right in the middle of the Old Quarter. It has some great facilities including a lovely pool on the tenth floor. But it's main asset is its polite and friendly staff. Always a joy to stay here, always sad to leave.

The reception and restaurant staff were outstanding and helpful.. The room was clean and well stocked. The location was amazing. Right in the middle of the old town, definitely not if you want any peace, but great for a buzzy stay.. Make sure you book a room with an outside balcony or view. Otherwise, you may not get any natural light!

Don't bother using their spa. Go elsewhere. Staff disorganised, and the service was poor. The pool and gym were nothing like the pictures, nor open!

Good location, in the Old Quarter. Close to the lake. Close to many of the sights, numerous restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was lovely, staff were courteous at check-in. I had a room without a window. The room itself was comfortable, incl bed/pillows etc and had enough toiletries, tea/coffee/water, plus bathrobe and slippers. Pool was nice. Breakfast was also great, with lots of choice. Wifi was adequate, although a couple of evenings, it did become slow, perhaps with number of people using it. The only thing that was unusual was that the cleaning trolleys were parked permanently outside the room I was given (406) with cleaning staff sometimes spending their breaks sitting outside the room. This made for a lot of noise in the corridor. The manager had not realised this was happening and was very apologetic and offered a complimentary transfer to the airport which was appreciated.

Excellent! The location is super convenient. Everything is within walking distance. Whether you opt for street food or fine dining, it takes less than 5mns of walking. The facilities were great. I enjoyed the gym and the pool everyday. The staff was friendly, supportive, and helpful for booking arrangements (as I needed help for room changing and payment method), tips of buying local products, and places to visit. And the restaurant is wonderful. My whole family loves the salad bar and we enjoyed fresh veggies every morning. They have a good range of healthy food in the breakfast. Would definitely go back!

The hotel is located right in the old quarter and there was loud singing on the street until 10 PM on Friday. As I requested for connecting rooms, I got two rooms next to each other as desired. However one does not have any window. Good thing is that the staff communicated with me about the situation upon booking and the other room has a great view toward the Sword Lake.

My husband and I chose May De Ville Old Quarter Hanoi Hotel as our base in Hanoi during our honeymoon in Vietnam, and we stayed here for almost two weeks. We absolutely loved everything about this hotel—from the services to the facilities. What made us come back for a second stay was the amazing breakfast buffet—it was one of the best we’ve had! We also truly appreciated the warm hospitality and professionalism of the staff. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommended for couples or anyone looking for comfort and quality service in the heart of Hanoi.

Hotel was very well located, and had all that we needed for a comfortable stay in Hanoi, nice restaurant with lake/city views and selection of local and international food and swimming pool overlooking the city. For us what made the difference and raises the rating to 10 was the staff, led by Miss Hannah, who diligently organized all the missing parts of our trip in Northern Vietnam overall personally. The cleaning staff was very efficient and restaurant super friendly and welcoming. They also surprised us with a birthday cake for our 7 year old daughter which she enjoyed a lot.

I can’t say anything bad as such about this hotel, maybe that it is not the cheap option to stay in Hanoi and there was a little extra charge for the use of credit card which we didn’t expect when doing the reservation.

OMG that pool - you will never get a view like that one. Hotel so clean and comfortable, staff so friendly and breakfast is the best we have ever had at any hotel worldwide. Highly recommend.

I stayed at this hotel for three weeks and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, making it easy to explore the city. The rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was great — a perfect start to each day. What truly made my stay exceptional, though, was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. They assisted me with everything I needed and always went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. If you’re visiting Hanoi, I highly recommend staying here. You can ask the staff for anything — they’re always happy to help. A great place with great people!
