Central location in the old town yet still nice and quite despite being amongst the hustle and bustle. Walking distance from the Cat Ba Express bus office, and the Sapa Express bus office. Nicely finished room and a comfortable soft bed. We were on the 7th floor and were upgraded to a junior suite where we had a good view. Great bathroom facilities with everything we needed. Very helpful and friendly staff. They wanted payment on arrival. We didn't have enough cash and they let us know we could pay by card but there would be an extra fee. They were happy to let us go out for dinner and get some cash out and pay when we returned. Really nice buffet breakfast - plenty to choose from and really nice staff at breakfast too. We paid a little more for our stay here than we had in other places on our Vietnam trip, but it was still great value, especially when it included such a good breakfast.

The location was fantastic. Very close to the lake, in the old quarter. The lobby was lovely, a calm place to retreat to after the heat and the hustle and bustle. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Hana in particular was great at helping with booking tours, transport, SIM card, loading the Grab app onto the phone. She was very happy to answer any questions and suggesting restaurants, one of which was our favourite meal in Vietnam so far. The breakfast was great, a good selection of food and drink. Our room was a good size with a street view. Despite being on a relatively busy road, the noise wasn't a problem. The bathroom was very nice. Everything was spotlessly clean. We would certainly stay here on our next visit.

There was nothing we could fault

This is an elegant, beautiful, and comfortable hotel right in the middle of all of the action in the Old Quarter, all for a very reasonable price. The lobby and dining area are beautiful. The rooms are super comfortable and elegant. And the staff is absolutely incredible. Smart, friendly and super helpful with all details, large and small. They arranged comfortable door-to-door service for my tour to Halong Bay and back and got me to the airport on a tight timeline to make my flight. But even more than that, I had computer problems with my laptop and had to leave it in Hanoi for repair while continuing to travel to another part of Vietnam. The very competent and professional woman at the reception desk went to the repair shop when the computer was ready, picked it up, bought a special container and wrapped it safely, and then went to the Hanoi bus station to ship it to me in Dong Hoi, all while being in phone contact with my hotel there to ensure all the logistics were correct. I got it early the next morning, saving me a time-consuming and costly airline return round trip to Hanoi. This was an incredible service that made a massive difference in the quality of my time in Vietnam. The human kindness behind this act truly touched me and will always leave me with a great impression - not just of this hotel, but of the people of Vietnam.

Everything. We stayed here for 3 nights before and after a biking trip and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We needed to do a late check in and an early check out one of the nights for flights and they accommodated us which was much appreciated. The room was very comfortable and super clean! Price was incredible for the standard of care and facilities we got. Breakfast was also really good and we loved the rang of choice, my friend is vegetarian and she had a great choice.

Communication could have been a little better when we were awoken by a staff member due to a technical issue at night but not really a flaw as everything else was exceptional.

I arrived very late after a long bus ride but even after midnight they made sure that I would be given a welcome drink. Very lovely staff and the room was extremely clean.

Unfortunately neither the butter, yoghurt nor the milk was being cooled, so I did not feel safe to take it, which made the breakfast choice fairly limited. Also my room did have a window however facing a wall 10cm away. I only stayed one night so it didn't matter to me at all but I guess something to keep in mind in case someone wants to stay longer. I can imagine there are on higher levels rooms with better window view.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They assisted in booking some tours for me and made some wonderful recommendations on places to eat. The staff speak English well and are easy to understand. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. I could not hear any noise at all from the street, even though we were right in the centre of the old quarter. The breakfast was included and was lovely. The chef made fresh omelette as ordered. The location was perfect! Very central to everything and within walking distance to a lot of the attractions. Highly recommended! Would absolutely stay here again.

We were staying on the upper floor, and the room decor was an amazing feature of the room. So thoughtfully decorated. The bathroom was all granite, and in perfect condition. For your convenience, the room offers sleepers and bathrobes. We made a mistake of not noticing a sign asking to put used toilet paper in the trash can, so our toilet got clogged. We called the service desk, and despite a late hour, a plumber came up in less than 20 minutes. All staff were very nice and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was ample and delicious. They even offered sweet French pastries. Location is just 3 minutes away from famous Beer Street and other major attractions. If we ever come back to Hanoi, we will definitely stay at Lavender Central again.

I loved absolutely everything!!!

First the staff. The young men at the door were polite and helpful. And at reception Hana was the best. Aidan and Jade on the late shifts were excellent also. All spoke veery good english and even better were very pleasant people. Fun to chat with. Location is great - close to the madness of the old town but immune to the noise at least in my room. Room was very well appointed - robe and slippers in the room. Came in handy for my in-house massages which were great. Bed comfortable. Breakfast more than necessary for me at least. Arranged my taxi to and from airport. Hana was able to get my room upgraded on the Ha Long 3day 2 night cruise. For me not my cup of tea as for a short cruise they pack way too many things into the itinerary. But the boat was very cool but something about being anchored up with dozens of other boats around takes away from the setting, at least for me it did. But the food on board was excellent. And maybe better weather might have helped.

The location is so prefect. From the moment I walked in the staff made me feel welcome and were able to help with everything. They gave me directions on where to eat in the area and also helped book my tours, and did they did it happily. When I wasn’t satisfied with day one of my tour of Sapa the hotel contacted the tour company for me and ended up discounting my room when i returned even though the problems with the tour were not their fault. Overall I had a great experience.

If had to pick something negative I would say the curtain on window in my room has some stains but that is so small compared to all the positives.

Excellent customer service and attentiveness to guests' needs. Staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed before, during and after my stay (this was especially reassuring as a solo traveller). Special thank you to Hana - probably the best Front Desk Manager I've come across! :) The room was clean and spacious, and had everything I needed during my stay. Breakfast was good. I would and have recommended Lavender Hotel & Spa to other travellers, and I would definitely stay here again. Hana arranged my (personalised itinerary) tour for Sapa, and organised for their affiliated hotel there (Andy & the team Eden Hotel & Spa) to look after me, for which I'm eternally grateful! Hana was patient answering my nunerous questions and even arranged to have my laundry delivered to my next hotel (booked via a tour).
