The location, room cleanliness, staff professionalism and friendliness, value for money, facilities. Kim the Guest Relations officer was very helpful and attentive. In fact everyone in each department from concierge, front office to F&B personnel are so welcoming, professional and attend to your needs quickly. They would also offer suggestions for things to do around the old quarter area as well as various famous eateries. The hotel's rooftop bar is absolutely wonderful. It is a spectacular place up there to see the sunset and the entire Hanoi skyline during a nice sunny day. We left an item and called the hotel several days later and it was kept for us to collect. The location is extremely strategic, pretty much 5 -15 minutes walk to just about every sightseeing place, the lake, shops, cafes and bars, restaurants and amazing street food scenes Hanoi is famous for. Breakfast spread is also comprehensive. It is a fabulous 4 star hotel with great value for money, friendly and attentive staff, strategic location within few hundred metres walk to just about everything the old quarter has to offer.

None, all what we needed were all there and more

We had a pleasant stay at Rex Hanoi for multiple nights. The staff is very nice & helpful and rooms clean. The location is great, many nice restaurants, cafes & attractions are nearby within walking distance. Easy to book additional day trips through the hotel. Great choice of hotel when the focus is on exploring the destination.

Our room type didn't have a proper window, but it didnt bother us much. Swimming pool location is not ideal as it's next to hotel's restaurant entrance. Rooftrop bar didn't have any small snacks available in the evening.

Great breakfast and location. It is a beautiful historic hotel. Enjoyed the pool and my husband took advantage of the spa services available. Nice room and comfy bed, good shower pressure. Loved the roof top bar.

Do not like being around smokers and this was allowed at the pool. Guest were permitted to save pool chairs even though not turning up for hours after they claimed them. Should not be allowed. Poor vegetarian options in the restaurant.

Great and helpful staff! Especially Ms Kim who we could contact anytime. She helped us with our boarding passes, booking transfer, finding local restaurants and so much more.

The location is excellent, situated right in the heart of the old quarter, making it easy to explore everything nearby. The staff members were incredibly helpful, especially when we needed to adjust our booking; they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The rooms were spotless and provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay.

My only slight negative would be the sky bar didn’t seem to be very accommodating and we would’ve spent a bit more time there if it was a bit more welcoming. There are loads of other bars in the area to go nearby so really wasn’t a problem overall.

Location location location👌. The hotel was just beautiful. Loved the size of the room with a separate lounge area and an extra toilet. Located in the guts of Old Quarter which made easy walking to everything, markets, restaurants, sight seeing, hop on hop off buses. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Provided a breakfast box when we left early in the morning for the airport which was very appreciated as food at the airport is quite expensive. Loved my time at the Rex Hotel. Worth every cent ❤️❤️

Carpet could do with a steam clean. Minor issue.

A well-run polished hotel. My premium room was as expected. Staff were friendly. The hotel is in quite a good position to walk to the lake, restaurants etc. I walked the 500m or so to Train St - a bit of fun. Grab taxis were easy and reasonable.

The hotel has added floors post- build. The lifts only go 12 floors. The restaurant for breakfast etc is on 14th floor as is the indoor pool. The rooftop bar is on the 15th floor - good view. I ate in the hotel restaurant on my first night. Great food but I was the only customer despite the hotel being half full. A bit boring - get a musician? Went to the roof-top bar for Happy Hour - same story - no-one. Move the bar to the ground floor? The usual over- percolated coffee. Get a coffee machine?

Service from reception staff including Kim and new trainee Angel ( and sorry I forgot the name of 2 other senior reception ladies that was also very helpful who gave us our introduction to friendly breakfast staff to housekeeping to Roiftop Bar staff . Great WiFi and TV selections . Clean rooms . Indoor pool . Excellent breakfast . Relaxing atmosphere and in particular the central location to everything . The Rex Hotel is our go to when staying in Hanoi . They will store your bags for you also when you do that Halong Bay overnighter . We would not stay anywhere else when in Hanoi .

Room without window has no real space for suitcases .

The hotel’s location is right near the night market - very centrally located in the old quarter of Hanoi. But to be honest the best part of this hotel is the staff - they were all amazing and really cared about looking after their guests. A big thank you to Kim and Rose and the other staff in reception who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help with anything we needed. We were able to leave our bags there while we went on 2 separate overnight trips, and they were so accommodating when we needed to change our nights because of last minute change of plans. Our two boys also loved the fuseball and pool table plus the view from the rooftop sky bar is amazing.

We came and went from the hotel so stayed 3 seperate nights in 3 different rooms/floors. The rooms on the 2nd floor were quite noisy and a little dungeon-esque so would recommend requesting a room floor 3 and above. Also when the night market is on the street music plays till 10pm so if you want to get to sleep earlier pack ear plugs.

An excellent hotel with all the amenities. We were welcomed at the front desk by Rose who proved to be a great resource for us. She let us know which streets to find souvenirs, arranged a tour on a cyclo of Old quarter and suggested special festivities that we might like to go to. The breakfast buffet had an array of different items *clearly indicating ones that may be vegetarian or gluten free. The waitstaff was cheerful and welcoming. Kudos to Lip who reached out to get to know us. His friendliness and sincerity is a true reflection of the Vietnamese people. .
