In the reception area no air conditioning so so if you have a late flight is a problem

Great location, just across the road from the river. Loved the ambiance of the outside building, very French. The suite overlooked the river and was huge. Good value for money. Loved the 4th floor bar to sit and have a drink and take in the view.

My husband & I stayed in Room 203 at the Riverside Hotel Saigon for 5 nights in mid-March 2024. Excellent location for us, as this classic hotel is within walking distance of the sites we wanted to see in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel was built in the late 1880s by a French shipping company & has been maintained. Know that if you’re looking for shiny, with a lot of bells & whistles, this isn’t your place. This is a pleasant, old-world, heritage building that is a bit on the worn, dated-side of things. But, it is clean and has a grand historic ambiance. Our room faced front, toward the river. It was a very large, clean room with 2 large beds, polished wood flooring, 2 comfortable chairs & a table, desk & chair, refrigerator, safety deposit box, closet & shelves. Very good, firm, mattresses with clean, comfortable duvet. Tidied up daily: fresh towels, trash removed, 2 bottles of water left. There is a busy street that runs between the hotel and the river. We could hear street noise but it was not loud enough to bother us. A very well done breakfast: Their breakfast room is in the building just next door. There was plenty of space, except one day when the hotel was hosting a large travel group. Egg station, toast station, yogurt, a variety of fruit and Asian dishes that changed daily. Hotel and restaurant staff were very pleasant. I would recommend a travel agency (across the street from the Banh Than Market) over the one attached to the hotel: Vietnam Memory Travel. John: 0981-981-761. If we ever return to Ho Chi Minh City, we would be very pleased to stay here again.

The bathtub-shower was slippery and it would be good for the hotel to invest in some rubber shower mats and maybe even grab bars. Also, in the way of grand old hotels, there is a sitting area with large windows and a service desk as you walk out of the elevator on to the 2nd floor: Some guests use this space as a smoking area, which isn't a good idea.

The views of the river were simply stunning. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was incredible, with a wide variety of options and fresh, delicious items each day. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our stay truly memorable.

Only complaint would be the bed was a little too firm for our taste

Unfortunately there was a dead cockroach in my room when I arrived. I put it in the bin. There were no other cleanliness issues but that was unfortunate at the start. The rehearsals for Tet were very loud and my window was shaking at 2am.

Great location in District One on the river. Classic old French Hotel with a roof top bar over looking the river promenade. Breakfast & coffee were tasty & staff were excellent. Rooms are quite large compared to the average these days.

The older shower & sink plumbing should be upgraded but the basic structure of the building is becoming much rarer in HVMC & it's nice to have some reminders of the past.

Room furniture not impressive.

Breakfast offerings and service staff were fantastic! Very quick response from Front Desk to additional service requests.

We arrived after midnight and the building looked closed as nearly all the lights in the lobby were turned off. Not an ideal first impression.

There was a guy in the reception, i mean a receptionist kinda not approachable to be asked for some places to reccommend was at night duty when i cheked in, i also asked him how can i booked a ticket to watch for Ms Cosmo 2024 , he answered me awful.....

Great location! Had a 2nd floor river view room. Very spacious - a bit old world with the Queen Anne furniture but very comfortable and quiet with the double glazing despite the busy street below. Enjoyed my stay there.

There is not much in the way of facilities, no room service as far as I could tell and no guide in the room as to what the facilities are and where they are located. Would be nice to have some more pork free choices available for breakfast but otherwise ok. Great coffee!
