We arrived early and were asked to pay 150,000 VND for early check-in, which isn’t too surprising coming from the West. However, when a room is already available, it’s common for places to allow early check-in for free. Initially, we were placed in a family room due to the early check-in, but we ended up staying there, which was a nice bonus since the room was spacious and the bathroom was great. Because of the location, there are quite a few insects—we had a massive (and hairy) spider and a lizard in our room, but it wasn’t a big deal. The walk to the main areas can be a bit long, but it’s a straightforward route, which makes it easier. Breakfast was fantastic! The ladies serving it were incredibly kind, and I highly recommend the pancakes—I’m still craving them! I had read reviews mentioning that the host can be quite pushy about selling her tours, and this turned out to be true. Expect to be approached frequently—she’s very persistent in selling her “fish”. That said, you can find cheaper options elsewhere.

We most enjoyed the welcoming feeling this property had. We were instantly taken in by the host and made to feel at home, the staff were trying to help us whenever needed. Our daughter made friends with the local children and had a wonderful experience. We would definitely visit again. It was a 15 minute walk into central Hoi An but we liked being removed from the enormous amounts of tourists and having a more laid back experience.

Beds were very hard, we did get used to after a day or two. Water was not very hot.

This is one of the best homestays we have stayed at in Vietnam. The host Moon is welcoming, kind, and helpful, all-around incredible. She will make your whole stay run smoothly and stress free. She helped us book our transport to and from the homestay, including the heritage train. She will book tours and cooking classes, and also gives excellent recommendations for restaurants, and will book you a table in advance. The location is excellent, close enough to walk to the old town, but far away enough to have peace and relaxation. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants on the small island so it is not necessary to always be in the busy tourist areas. You can also hire a bicycle to get around easier and also to visit the rice fields. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with lots of natural light. We liked all the corn details on the floor, bedsing and lamshades, it is very unique. Moon was also able to provide us with a kettle for the room when we asked. We enjoyed the view from the terrace balcony. The pool looks great, a good depth, we didn't get a chance to use it. Breakfast is simple. Yet very, very tasty, and consistently good. We enjoyed pairing it with avocados that we sourced from the local market. Moon is always on hand to answer any questions or solve any problems, and communicates really well. This is seriously a home from home, and I would love to stay longer and come back again in the future. The hotel was in a ideal location if you fancy a quieter trip situated a 20 mins walk away from the old quarter and sat on the river- the rooms are lovely and spacious for the price and has an amazing pool all guests. Best of all tho was the owner who was so helpful throughout our stay- help organise a lot of activities for us and was always so welcoming and polite one of the best members of staff we’ve met on our 2 months or travels so far would so highly recommend

The rooms weren’t the best but for £5 a night you cannot complain had everything u would expect

The staff especially moon were all so helpful, kind, and ready to help! Moon spoke amazing english and was ready to help with absolutely everything. Great location, could walk to mini marts, the memories show and a really quick grab to old town and markets. The house was HUGE and we have so much space for my family of 6! We had a kitchen for cooking and breakfast was included - the breakfast was basic but so yummy (especially the omelette!!) highly recommend!!!

Moon is the most amazing host. We had come in after being in a bus crash and she was so lovely, supportive, caring and accommodating. She really went above and beyond to make sure we were okay after such a traumatic experience. We stayed in two separate rooms. The bigger room for the four of us was huge and comfortable. Then we checked into a smaller room for 2 of us which was just as lovely. Breakfast included was a nice touch. A very peaceful location by the river and the pool was great too!

The beds are a little on the harder side but that's synonymous with most stays across south east asia!

The service from Moon and the rest of the staff is wonderful. Moon helps you with everything you need and organizes everything you want to see for a lower price than renting on your own. The women who run the hostel are very friendly and smiling, and you can have breakfast with beautiful views of the river. The large pool is a plus. It's very close to the night market (which you can also visit in the morning). Good accommodation in Hoi An.

Overall we had a nice stay, in a calm place and enjoyed the fact that there was a swimming pool, breakfast included and bikes for rent (which came in handy as the property is a bit further away from the old town). The pool was really refreshing as the temperatures rose quite high. We also booked a cooking class with Moon, the owner, which we could pay upon checkout, together with the bikes we rented and the laundry we did

The rooms are a bit older than the pictures suggest (eg limescale on the shower walls and a shower door that could not completely close anymore) Note that the pool will be in the shade during the day, which can be a blessing if you’re looking to escape the sun, but you won’t be able to sunbathe if that’s what you’re looking for It is possible to walk to the old town, but doing it multiple days in a row back and forth is a bit much - luckily you can rent bikes to make the journey faster

A lovely villa that was relaxed and had an amazing location, only a 10 minute walk across the river to the old town. Rooms were very spacious and breakfast was exceptional with a choice of one meal and a drink for free and any additional for an extra 30.000 which is a bargain ! The hostess Moon was very helpful and nice, she helped us book any tours and gave us recommendations for the area. Would recommend!

Great stay at the Riverside Villa. Nice pool, great room, very comfortable bed and good location (20 minute walk to the town) with options of renting a scooter or bike for very reasonable prices. Moon the host was fantastic could not do enough to help us, booked our ring making and taxi back to Da Nang. Had many trips on offer however unfortunately didn’t have time to try them all. Thanks Moon
