When I read several reviews about this hotel, it is almost like if I stayed in another place. Because the corridor leading to my room was clean, the room carpet was clean, the shower hose didn't leak, the aircondition worked fine, the wi-fi was working well and there were no cockroaches to be seen anywhere! Don't expect luxury at the price you will pay, but expect a fully functioning bang-for-the-buck friendly modernised hotel in the very center of Yerevan, within easy walking distance to Republic Square, Sundukyan Theatre, Noy-Ararat Cognac Factory etc. and with lots of restaurants and shops nearby! The breakfast - simple but filling (bread, cheese, fried eggs, juices, tea) but when it is included in the very favourable room rates you can't expect a Guide Michelin restaurant! And why not choose the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner, also here no luxury but you won't leave hungry! Btw, my room had a very nice view over a park and during clear weather I could also see Mount Ararat, so beautiful! Hotel Shirak will be my own choice also for my next visit and I recommend it for others, too!

The only (minor) remark is that there were no light-blocking curtains in my room which would have been very useful if you go to bed early or need to sleep during daytime. Otherwise everything was fine!

I made a reservation for a single bed room, but got a room with huge bed for two. So spacious room, large bathroom with walk-in shower and hairdryer (which came handy to dry to shoes as well), and view over Yerevan from the hight. Hotel is at convenient location close to Republic Square metro station, big supermarket, some restaurants, and if you need it, also 24/7 self service laundry (everything within 5 minutes of walking). Rich and diverse breakfast, no-one said anything despite taking the food at least twice and some refills of drink. Hotel staff was very nice, there were no problems when leaving my backpack for half a day before continuing my journey by night train.

I only found the light switch for the bedroom ceiling lights slightly before I left (which is my problem), and one of light bulbs was not working (informed reception desk clerk in hope to replace it). I missed some night lights next to bed, maybe a suggest for future to add them to rooms. As the shower has the glass wall only on its ½, water splash our of shower may be a bit inconvenient.

After not being able to accommodate in a booked hotel (apartment), this one booked in the moment when there was a threat to stay in the street, no reasons for complaints. The place is good (well, a bit far away from the conference venue), the hotel is good enough.

WiFi was bad in the room. The reason is thick walls in an old building. However, WiFi was better, though not perfect outside. A safe box in the room was broken, though there were promises to repair it or change, nothing happened.

The room was very nice, clean, big, with a nice bathroom and great view of Mount Ararat. Location was excellent, in the centre. Breakfast was ok.

Unfortunately the internet connection, wifi, in the rooms was very poor, in fact it was impossible to connect the laptop. wifi worked, not so well, only on phone.

I reached a bit early and requested an early check in, one staff member was a bit rude in replying to my request, subsequently when I returned after two hours, there was another staff member who was very kind and accommodative, she also gave room on the 13th floor with a beautiful view.

An old Soviet block. I loved being in the hustle and bustle. Had a fantastic view of Mt.Ararat from our room. Fridge provided but no tea or coffee.

Breakfast was very basic. Salads and pasta. Fried eggs, which were cold every day ! It took the edge off but wasn't brilliant

Absolutely amazing hotel! I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. The staff were great, Suzanna on the reception desk was very helpful!

What's with the bad reviews? this is a good hotel, at least I'd say so! A highrise building not far from the main square, the staff were all lovely and really made me welcome. Room was warm, cosy and very comfortable, I even had a fridge in there, and everything required was on hand and working. Breakfast was properly good, lots of local food and a help yourself affair which I'm all for! Overall I really enjoyed the Shirak - and Yerevan - and I'd definitely go back to both, no question.

The location is great, you can walk around city center anywhere you want. The breakfast was delicious and staff was so welcoming.
