When I read several reviews about this hotel, it is almost like if I stayed in another place. Because the corridor leading to my room was clean, the room carpet was clean, the shower hose didn't leak, the aircondition worked fine, the wi-fi was working well and there were no cockroaches to be seen anywhere! Don't expect luxury at the price you will pay, but expect a fully functioning bang-for-the-buck friendly modernised hotel in the very center of Yerevan, within easy walking distance to Republic Square, Sundukyan Theatre, Noy-Ararat Cognac Factory etc. and with lots of restaurants and shops nearby! The breakfast - simple but filling (bread, cheese, fried eggs, juices, tea) but when it is included in the very favourable room rates you can't expect a Guide Michelin restaurant! And why not choose the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner, also here no luxury but you won't leave hungry! Btw, my room had a very nice view over a park and during clear weather I could also see Mount Ararat, so beautiful! Hotel Shirak will be my own choice also for my next visit and I recommend it for others, too!

The only (minor) remark is that there were no light-blocking curtains in my room which would have been very useful if you go to bed early or need to sleep during daytime. Otherwise everything was fine!

What's with the bad reviews? this is a good hotel, at least I'd say so! A highrise building not far from the main square, the staff were all lovely and really made me welcome. Room was warm, cosy and very comfortable, I even had a fridge in there, and everything required was on hand and working. Breakfast was properly good, lots of local food and a help yourself affair which I'm all for! Overall I really enjoyed the Shirak - and Yerevan - and I'd definitely go back to both, no question.

Excellent property and very close to the centre. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic location.

Great downtown location, a short walk from Republic Square. Staff friendly and happy to book a taxi to the airport using a reputable driver who doesn't rip you off. Decent breakfast with a mixture of hot and cold items. Comfortable bedroom with nice big bathroom.

On-site sports bar/cafe is overpriced considering the hotel star rating. Water in the fridge is chargeable. No signs visible that explain this so you could get caught out.

I was lucky, the room was after some renovation, zero problems, the bed and mattress were awesome, and the bathroom was working perfectly. The breakfast is perfect for me(eggs, porridge, veggies, corn chocolate flakes, etc)

Location. It is a short walk to the centre, nice supermarket virtually next door. Area was nice and clean. The hotel was great in appearance. It's approximately 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. Breakfast was lovely

A kettle would have been nice. The safe was broke.

As described in HookUpTravels this hotel was exactly at the party and nightlife district of Yerevan. Room is beautifully decorated in 1990s style with historic television and artistic furniture. Good rooms size, clean sheets and breakfest was OK. Staff speaks good English. Good decent rooms with fast internet.

Shower drain was not working properly but you can also shower on the washroom floor since the floor drain works well.
