Comfortable, good size room that immediately gave the sense one was really on holiday. The kitchen facilities were excellent, with plenty of crockery and a range of utensils to easily prepare a snack, meal or cup of tea, and to wash up afterwards. Freezer in the fridge worked, which is not always the case. The bed was firm and very comfortable, and the quiet location of the motel, as well as brick walls between the rooms ensured uninterrupted sleep. The continuation of the brick wall onto the deck kept the deck private while sitting outside. Often motel bathrooms are small, with a toilet and sink jammed into the space and somehow water from the shower spreads all over the floor. Not here. The bathroom was big with plenty of room to move about, and thoughtful provision of places to put your things. The water from the shower stayed in the shower recess. Additionally, the hot water came through quickly and the temperature stayed even throughout the shower. The pool is large enough to accommodate people without getting in each other’s way and the large paved area around the pool is spacious and considered, with ample comfortable furniture. Staff were helpful and friendly and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Our room was recently renovated and was fantastic. And yes, the pool looks exactly as pictured, extremely inviting and a step beyond any other motel pool we’ve seen. The biggest plus here is the staff. In particular, Michelle. She made us feel so welcome after such a long day of driving, noting down on a map of the town all the food, beach and coffee options so we could maximise our short stay. Exceptional service! We were sad to leave after such a short time here but we’re glad that we now have a new ‘go-to’ for our road trips up North.

Absolutely nothing.

We stayed in room 8, plenty of space for us and was great to have a bedroom separate from the kids! Our room was right next to the pool, our veranda gate opened up next to the pool area which was great as I could relax and still supervise my daughters in the pool. The whole apartment was clean and comfortable. Air conditioner was lovely but not really needed as the doors open right up to let the sea breeze in of an afternoon. The location is great, right near the river and short walk to jimmys beach. The owner was polite and check in/out is easy

The fan in the bedroom was really noisy but if left on low doesn’t make a sound, not a big deal really 🤷🏽‍♀️

I was looking for some peace & quiet, and this place delivered! It was fairly full but I didn’t hear any noise from other units. The balcony overlooking the pool is excellent to sit on and eat a meal. The insect-mesh sliding door is a bonus too, allowing you to wake up to the sound of birds tweeting, without getting bitten by mozzies! The room is well kitted out and even has a big electric frypan. The neighbourhood is quiet, and there are local shops and restaurants within walking distance.

A small suggestion for improvement: Housekeeping staff need to check if the previous guest has turned the fridge off (ie. turned the thermostat to 0), as was the case for me.

Having arrived late in the day, whilst cognisant of the location, we were delighted, in the bright light of the morning to enjoy the view of the Bay from our room’s window. The room was well appointed, and really lacked nothing. The linen was plentiful, fresh and clean. The welcome by Owner/Manager, Michele, was as good, if not better than I have previously received, anywhere, together with a wide range of tips/reminders (I was a very regular visitor to Hawks Nest decades ago) for good local eateries. All round, a good experience to be repeated in the future.

Comfy room, comfy bed and pillows :) the room in general and specially the toilet was super clean. Staff was very kind and helped us to check in and keep the keys available. We arrived late but that was not a problem at all as the staff took care of ourselves and contacted us. As a bonus, early in the morning we were able to have a coffee with fresh milk and cookies before leaving the hotel. Everything was quiet and we had a good rest!! :)

Probably a bit more light in front of the mirror next to the wardrobe. The space is excellent but this spot is missing a bit of light. I was trying to apply make-up but light was not good, so I had to go to the balcony.

3rd time I stay there and will keep going. Well maintained, perfect location and view. Easy booking and check-in. 10/10 cleaning services. Very comfortable rooms, bed, pillows, air conditioning and shower. Internal and safe parking and amazing swimming pool. Walking distance to the river with an amazing sunset view and to IGA and cafe. I highly recommend it!

What we really liked was the fact that it had a separate bedroom and then a proper bed for the 3rd adult. We had with us, my husband’s brother who is special needs and the room was just perfect for our situation. Our bed was very comfortable indeed.

I should have requested a ground floor for our age group. However, that’s certainly not the fault of the establishment.

First of all we had a cancellation because of delayed Flight, and it was no Problem to Change the booking just two days. We got perfect ideas for dining and fresh milk for free, our daughter was happy, she needs her warm milk in the morning. Room are clean, we had a queensize, a Single and an aditional sleep Sofa. Kitchenette was good. Unfortunately we had not the time to try the really beautyful Pool. The City around is quite pretty, harbour looks nice. Recommended, will come back

I love the location being close to the water and the main beach is only a short walk to get to. The facilities are practical but very well designed. The pool and the barbecue area immaculate and make for a relaxing place to unwind. The rooms are well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. I've never slept so soundly in a while. Most of all the owners who also manage the property are delightful. It's my new favourite place to stay in Hawks Nest!

The neighbours which are other holiday homes can have noisy guests.
