Stayed in bunk bed room with 2 sets of bunks. Only 2 of us in the room as we wanted the extra space. Not a chance I would have trusted the top bunks to be able to hold the weight of anyone as they are unsturdy and cheap. Everytime I moved during the night the bunks squeaked loudly. The carpet in the entire venue needs proper cleaning and/or replacing as it stinks. A mirror in the room would have been helpful. 1 small mirror in the corner of the ladies bathroom was useless to attempt to get ready. And lighting to put on make up etc

The location was good,close to the train station, cafes,the CBD of Newcastle to 😊All the people that work at the Newcastle are friendly,lovely & can't do enough for you.I really enjoyed staying here & would stay here again!😊 Free breakfast included in your stay love it💗Would highly recommend staying here!😊💗

The time I had to wait to get to my room especially after coming off a 5 hour train trip from Bathurst.Was very tired.

The staff was very friendly and we loved how they supplied earplugs and snacks. We booked the room being totally aware of the bar downstairs and to be fair, the music wasn’t that loud and it even stopped playing by 10 pm. The room was big and pretty nicely furnished and the bed was comfy. The neighborhood was in our opinion the best one as there were lots of cafes and vintage shops.

The shared bathrooms for men and women were not that clean - unfortunately we didn’t share the common spaces with very considerate guests as they would leave their stuff everywhere and smoke in their room which caused the fire alarm to go off at 6 am. However, the hotel staff was very responsive and professional as they sent someone to turn it off right away! Big thank you to Nic

Easy to find. Very close to Hamilton Railway Station.

Maybe using stairs but that was expected. Not enough cutlery to use in kitchen. Could be more paper towel to use in kitchen. Also only one very damp tea towel for wiping dishes dry. Should have been more tea towels in a drawer.

Easy check in, clear detail of what to expect, fresh air from windows!

Clogged toilet one morning, not your fault!

Check-in went well with access security codes provided by the hotel through booking.com; I've stayed there several times, so know the drill. My room was large, comfortable, and close to the shared bathroom - which, by the way, I didn't have to "share" because I didn't see or hear any other female guests. Room clean and well appointed. They always add special touches such as a packet of crisps, some sweets, ear plugs (not needed), and a bottle of water. Block-out blinds work well. Huge fluffy towels. Shared kitchen is always clean.

Supply of cereals was very low for a Tuesday morning. Separate toilet in female shared bathroom doesn't flush very efficiently.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, and shared toilet/bathroom area was clean as well. Bed was comfy, and getting into secured rooms was a simple process. The hotel was central to main thoroughfare, but not right on top of it, so I found it very well placed.

Package included breakfast, but this was more use of cereal in the shared kitchen, rather than a cooked meal.

Good value for money, spacious room, not crowded so I didn’t have to wait for a bathroom/shower at any point, loads of room in the kitchen for our stuff, great short term stay

The shower pressure in the woman’s bathroom was non existent and the hot water kept cutting out, the room was really hot and wasn’t able to cool it down, no parking apart from street parking that’s time limited so bare that in mind if you’re driving

Very clean facilities, staff were helpful and happy to accommodate my request. I love this place and the local shops. Great value for money. Good place to stay for solo travellers.

It could be noisy downstairs if you stay over at the pub night. They supply earplugs which could help you have a better sleep. The ladies toilet doesn’t flush very efficiently, and you may have to flush a few times. I wish they could have a hair dryer in the shared bathroom.

Clean rooms, good amenities (shared bathroom, key pad entry/security, complimentary snacks and earplugs!). Helpful and friendly staff.

Check-out by 10am at a pub where the noise goes on ALL night is tough, dragged myself out of the room after no sleep due to ongoing noise (but it is a well patroned pub with club music, karaoke, shows etc) so I was expecting a low snooze experience anyway... maybe a slightly bit later check-out option would be better!
