I chose a room with a private bathroom, the room was the perfect size for one and neatly presented. The bathroom and bedding are clean. As with most places I stay at I find the bed to quite soft, so keep this in mind when booking. Enjoy features like aircon and tv. I really enjoyed the cheeky cocktail menu downstairs the food menu was enjoyable as well. Great little place for a quick stopover.

Travelling for work, I requested to have cutlery so I could eat my meal in my room, whilst conducting work, a staff member from the bar told me food and drinks are not permitted in the rooms. I found this an inconvenience as I was on a tight schedule and trying to work downstairs in the bar whilst enjoying a meal meant patrons kept interrupting me. The rooms are not soundproof, I would recommend checking the venues what’s on page if you are wanting a good nights sleep. Stayed on a Friday and they had loud music and I could hear the patrons enjoying themselves until about 3am.

I love staying here. The location is excellent, and the value for money is darn good. The room I booked (ensuited, with a Queen and a single bed) is large and comfortable, the water pressure is good, and (given that it's a pub and on the main street) it's not noisy. They provide complimentary bottled water, and the room is bright and airy. This is the 5th time I have stayed there, and will stay again.

Be aware that you will have to climb a flight of stairs with your bags, and the nearest all day free parking is a couple of streets away. These aren't problems, but something you might need to know.

Checking in was easy. We checked in at 8pm on a Friday night. Location was perfect, on main St & close to bus, train stn. Service was great. Room was clean. Beds very comfortable. Amenities also very good with bathroom & shower. Extra pillows in room if needed. A/C & ceiling fan, Tea, coffee in room.

A/C could've been a little more cooler but we did arrive on a day with bad heat wave so understandable. We didn't mind noise from pub below us but if you're after a quiet nights sleep, take this into consideration.

Location is fantastic. The shower was good. Had shampoos, conditioners & soap. Bed was comfortable. 2 bottles of water was greatly appreciated. The staff are lovely.

No face washers. Room 5 has a crack/hole in the bathroom ceiling which leaked in the rain & dripped on my head & face & there was a puddle on the floor. Pigeons on the ac unit outside, banging on the windows early in the morning, both days, was a startling wake up. My friend in room 1 said the same thing about the pigeons.

We booked Northern Star Hotel as it was close to the Entertainment Centre and we were seeing Matchbox 20. When we arrived, we were super confused and had low expectations, having to pick up our keys from the bottle shop with random characters waiting for cabs outside. Let me say this, how our expectations were so exceeded! The team were AMAZING! We sat down in the quirky little dining room as our room wasn't ready and had the most delicious lunch and affordable wine. The team member kept us updated on our room availability and even went and collected the keys for us. She was so helpful and it is remiss of me that I didn't get her name. The customer service from all team members was next level. We enjoyed cocktails before our show, and even wine afterwards, the team were still warm and welcoming at 1am! Our room was surprisingly great! 2 rooms, a bathroom with a fab shower and cute little touches like free water. There wasn't onsite parking but we parked in the free carpark that was seconds up the road.

It was a fab stay, exceeded our expectations!

This hotel was great value for money. Quiet, comfortable and with lots of TV choices like Netflix. The room was spotless with lots of amenities like coffee and tea and bottles of water in the fridge.

I had a shared bathroom which required walking a short distance along a corridor, but it was a small price to pay for such good value. I never bumped into anyone on the corridor so it was as if I had the place to myself.

Good vibe, convenient location, food looked good, bed was small but so comfortable. We slept very well and comfortably

No bathroom of course. Bedroom doors were super squeaky, disturbing the peace for others every time you have to creep out of your room. This should have been tended to long ago I suspect. Tiny room. Noisy of course... its a pub, but it was a good low cost, clean, convenient place to stay as we only went for the musician they had playing there.

Really quiet compared to other pubs - I'm a light sleeper and I got a great night sleep!

Cigarette smoke from the courtyard comes strongly into the indoor hallways and bathroom. But luckily not the bedroom.

Loved the location. The plantation shutters, air conditioning. Charm of the hotel, including glass ware in restaurant.

We thought there could have been an extra blanket each bed for a cold winter's night. The room could have had the velvet pillows and blankets like to he photos had.

Great location on Beaumont st. Irish pub with $10 pints of Guinness. Rooms were clean, roomy, and well appointed. Shared bathroom was spot on. Clean and tidy.
