Location: I didn't rate the location, above, at the highest level. This does not reflect on the property, so much as the state of the old Newcastle CBD. My wife and I were both born and raised in Newcastle and remember how 'alive' that area used to be. It's a shame what the 'powers that be' have allowed to happen, and a pity that it affects your hotel. However, you are well placed for guests arriving by public transport. Room: I thought the style and layout of the room was excellent. For what was listed as an inside studio, the space was a pleasant surprise and the facilities were perfect. On previous visits we have stayed at Noah's, but won't be again - your property is far superior. View: We were on the old railway station side of the building, on level 1. Any option higher up would probably provide harbour views, but the station is not offensive. There was even a nostalgic element with the view - I left from the station to go into the army as a National Serviceman in 1969!

My wife and I enjoy a quiet drink, in comfort without having to go looking, at the end of the day. You have a nice little lounge on the ground floor, but refreshments are limited to the contents of the small bar fridge at reception. Without knowing what restrictions you might face, a wider range of wine, etc, would enhance the accommodation experience. It didn't constitute a dislike - it was just something that would have further contributed to what was a most satisfactory experience.

We booked this apartment for the Over the Ditch Festival which was directly across the road at the old station. We didn’t demand much from the property which is why it probably left us pleasantly surprised. This apartment had pretty much what we needed for our night stay. The unit was in good clean and modern condition, compared to some of our recent accomodations. The bed was great. The little balcony with the chair and table is a nice bonus. Reception staff very friendly and the hand written welcome and small gift was a nice touch. The phone charging bedside lamps turned out to be a godsend. Can’t fault the room at all.

The car parking was a bit tight.

The hotel is a short walk from the tram that goes to the beach, city or train station.Convenience stores, restaurant and bar and cafes close by. There were interesting views from our front balcony room over old restored Railway Station and towards the river. Friendly staff and comfortable facilities - safe underground parking

Kitchen china and cutlery were a bit limited and a tray would have been useful to eat on balcony. Car park spaces might be a bit of a tight squeeze for big Station wagons etc.

Spacious one-bed apartment with the harbour view - paying the extra makes it expensive but probably worth it, especially out of season. Super comfortable bed and very quiet if you keep the balcony door shut. Very friendly and helpful staff with lots of good suggestions for local food, drinks and music! Well equipped kitchen would make eating in easy (except for small table, see below). Good shower in compact but efficient bathroom. Needed a bit of repainting though. Great location, secure (but pricey) parking, right on the tram line so don't really need a car. Not sure what other apartments in Newcastle are like but would probably book this again, if we're ever back.

Sitting area was rather sparsely furnished and didn't really live up to the pictures. Table is a bit too small to sit two for a meal so maybe eat on balcony? No encouragement to recycle - all the waste in one bin

This location is great and has numerous amenities. It's situated in the central part of Newcastle, making it easy to access public transportation, and there are many great cafes nearby. I especially love the fact that they offer a lolly bag and snack bag, which brightens up my day. Additionally, they have an earlier check-in option available, which is excellent. I truly adore this place. The staff is friendly and communicates with me about the happenings, which is inclusive. The rooms are overall clean. When I come back to Newcastle again, I will definitely book a place with the balcony!

We were blown away by Terminus, which more than exceeded our expectations. The location is second to none - right across the road from the old Newcastle Station with its abundance of coffee shops, boutiques, and market stalls. It's also within walking distance of a number of pubs, Newcastle Beach, and multiple Light Rail stations. The room was large and comfortable, with modern conveniences and all you'd need for an extended stay. We particularly liked the balcony with a view of the city, the big bed, and the small touches such as a welcome bag of snacks and the way housekeeping decorated our bed to make it look like our daughter's stuffed animal was reading books. The front desk staff were always warm and courteous too. We've already booked a return trip next month!

We had a most delightful one night stay in Newcastle at the Terminus Apartment Hotel. We’ve stayed in Newcastle many times but this was our first time staying harbourside. This location was much more preferable as it’s closer to the many cafes and restaurants of the area and the harbour front promenade walk and it is also less windy than the beach side area of Newcastle. Our huge 2 room apartment was clean, modern, very well appointed and had the most spectacular view from the bedroom and living area across the huge balcony out to the harbour. The Team at the hotel were all very friendly, professional and helpful. My only regret was that we had just one night booked but we will definitely make this our accommodation of choice for any future visit to Newcastle.

Nothing to dislike

The apartment is very clean, my family loves the welcome pack with lollies and chocalates. 10 minutes walk to the beaches. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stories nearby. Two bathrooms are great for our family! Wifi is good.

The living room is very small, not enough space for my son watching tv with my husband and I. The car park is a bit difficult to get in. The car park should be allocated against the room number.

Location to transportation and beach fantastic. Great location for dining and book shops. View was lovely any time of day. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The guest snacks at reception were a hit wit the kids. Appreciated the availability of cold beverages via reception. I liked that the laundry facilities were within my apartment and the washing detergent was in twist top tubes. The size of the balcony was bigger than expected and well furnished. Loved that one of the two bedrooms did not have a TV (always trying to escape monitors during down time). Having a full oven and dishwasher made it homely and practical for a family. Fans in each bedroom made it airy. Liked the lamps in the bedrooms with the USB connection that we used for phone charging.

The aircon was a little too strong for my liking even when on the lowest setting. The coffee pod selection needs to be improved (sorry - flavour was poor). The phone had no directions on how to contact reception and no instructions how to use the safe in the room. Carpet had a damp smell when aircon not on. A pool would have made this a 10/10 experience.

Location, location, location! Spacious apartments and nicely fitted out. Comfortable beds and despite the location it was restful sleep & not too noisy. Secure parking for our hire car. Very adequate kitchen, fridge, microwave and great laundry facilities in room. Bathroom was small but great showers, hot and strong pressure.

The $25 charge each day for parking! Too expensive especially because the cost for 8 nights accommodation was not cheap. Our biggest complaint was our original apartment was large, nicely fitted out but stank! It was overwhelming, smelt like curry or Indian food and permeated the whole room & out into the passage. We were offered a can of air freshener & very rudely asked what else we wanted!
