The Hostel is in the heart of Airlie Beach with Woolworths, clothing shops, pubs, and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk away. It's a VERY easy 15-minute walk from the Greyhound bus stop to The Hostel. Staff at The Hostel are honestly some of the friendliest people I've ever met! They're happy to help with any queries, local knowledge, or something you need. Staff clean EVERY room, EVERY day being mindful of guests belongings along the way. It's easily the most clean hostel I've ever stayed at! Every room has its own shower/toilet combo, balcony, and air conditioning unit, which is SO NICE!

great location, lovely staff, good facilities e.g kitchen, washing, storage etc. I really liked the vibe at this hostel. It’s too big, and everyone was friendly. Really great location only a few minutes walk from the beach and Main Street in Airlie, with a liquor store just opposite and a Cole’s only a few minutes walk away. Wifi and Air con were also good and working! Easy to store luggage if going on a Whitsundays tour and returning, too.

One downside however was that there are no lifts and I was travelling with a large suitcase, so it was tricky getting my luggage up the stairs to the dorm rooms.

Great facilities, clean, open plan. Spacious dorm rooms, big lockers, balcony! Overall a really great hostel compared to most in Australia! Plus the staff were great too!

Sometimes had to wait a long time for the bathroom which was frustrating, but to be expected in dorm living. Also on a few nights people in the outside social area were drinking late (which is absolutely fine) but theu were quite noisy which is not ideal when youre up early for activities! Staff might want to consider enforcing a cut off time for noise. Other than that, it was great.

I loved how the supermarkets and restaurants were so nearby! The receptionist was super friendly, patient and helpful. I was waiting for my cab to go to the airport and he (the receptionist) was about to have lunch and instead of asking me and leave. He actually cared and told me if I needed another cab to let him know even though he was having lunch. That was so kind of him!

The bathrooms next to the common area were dirty and didn’t have handwashing soap. There isn’t any actual door at the main entrance which means anyone can get into the hostel meaning anyone can walk into the common areas such as the kitchen and dining room. Since it’s located in a place where it looks pretty safe. Nothing wrong happened to me. But I reckon it’d be way better if the hostel had a main door that only the guests can access. Also, the socket ports could be a bit closer to each one’s bed.

Great location, right on Airlie Beach Center, but also close to the Greyhound station. The dorm room and bathroom were much cleaner than I expected. A big room with a balcony. Big kitchen, dining area, and common area. The staff was really nice.

Power plugs were only in one point in the room, which was really difficult. The bathroom window didn't close, so you had to hope nobody peeked in. Not enough equipment in the kitchen, I was always looking for simple stuff like spoons. No social events at all - quite a shame since the hostel was full of young backpackers.

Very cozy little place, enough space in the dorms, good kitchen - dining room - chill out place. The ensuite bathroom is a bit dated, but works. The hostel is perfectly located, and the staff are lovely :)

Some of the furniture (beds lockers) feels a bit old and might need some replacement or maintenance (not all the hinges of the lockers were properly fixed, and the beds were overly squeeky). There were not enough sockets for the number of people in the room (and half of them were hidden away behind lockers), and there was only 1 main light in the room, and no separate night lights near the beds

It's very clean. The travellers are very responsible, quiet and nice. The balcony is nice, you can do laundry by hand and it would dry the next day. We open the sliding door on the balcony so it's perfect temperature to sleep without the need of AC.

The kitchen ventilation is not very good, everytime I went to the kitchen I would have a smell on my shirt and hair. The sockets! No sockets are available for my bed so everyday I need to find a place to charge my phone(kitchen, other people's bed)

it’s a simple place and the hostel is not too big. it’s very hard to find cozy hostels in Australia, most of the places are party hostels where the stuff just tries to sell you alcohol every night. this is quite the opposite. it’s quiet, cozy, and friendly. the dorms are small and have their indoor bathroom with a balcony. it’s perfect. I had booked for 2 nights but I extended for almost a week. the location is great, so central

Only downside for me is the internet. I work and travel at the same time and I had many issues to hold teleconferences. I hope they’ll upgrade the Wi-Fi in the future because that’s the only flaw of this place.

The beds were so comfortable. Thick mattress and a proper pillow. Did bang my head a few times as you’re closer to the bed above with how thick the mattress is 😂 Huge lockers in luggage room and rooms. Clean bathrooms and kitchen. Kitchen was a good size with plenty of fridge space.

There were no social events. Ended up going to other hostels events to socialise as everyone kept themselves to themselves

I was 1 1/2 weeks in the Yha in Airlie and it was a really nice time. The outside impression may not be the best but the hostel could convince me with so much more. At Christmas, the managers (super nice team) organized a free BBQ with a lot of good humor, free beer and good music. It was a Christmas I will always remember fondly, thanks for that!!! Also, the kitchen is always clean, lots of fridge space, each room has a balcony, as well as a bathroom and the rooms are very spacious. I would always recommend this hostel!!!
