- central location - the guest shower and toilets that I could use when I arrived at 7am and needed to refresh my body because the humidity was killing me. - the lockers accessible for guest directly in the backyard without having to pay. - swimming pool. - good size of the dorm and nice balcony for each dorm. - air con works well

- the washing machine and dryer work with coins which is not convenient - only two sockets on one wall, the two beds on the other side don't have any sockets and have to rely on the socket in the bathroom next to their bed.(The manager told me that improvement will be made) - kitchen too small,.not enough tables - the morning call in all the dorms to warn people about the checkout time.. it wakes people up it's not nice

I’d highly recommend this place if you’re staying 2 weeks or just a couple of days. Rooms: the mattresses are really comfortable and all rooms gets cleaned every day and really good Common areas: the kitchen is great and a few times a day it gets cleaned again Staff: they’re all really nice and welcoming, with anything you need they’re there for you Atmosphere: it’s a chill hostel, although some people are just doing their own, others would look for people to get together, chat and have fun.

Kitchen: the power goes off at 9pm, really early and I missed having more kitchen utensils and better pans to cook, I hope after the renovation, it gets better Common area closes at 10pm and it’s a bit dark inside, it doesn’t give a vibe of a place you’d like to enjoy being there for a long time

The location was perfect, 10min walk to the bus station, but also on the main high street and close to the lagoon. I liked the attached bathrooms to the rooms, and the balcony was lovely - made it easier to dry clothes. The kitchen was a good size for the number of guests. Locker storage for $5 a night was perfect for people going on boat trips.

I didn’t realise how confusing the name The Hostel would be to people when describing where I was staying! It’s not the most social hostel, but that wasn’t very important to me. Some of the power outlets were in awkward places - like behind lockers, so was difficult to get to, perhaps providing extension leads would be helpful

The beds were comfy. Good kitchen and washing machine facilities, en suite bathroom and shower... but it's really all about the fabulous location. Really big lockers to store your stuff, also lockers to leave stuff if your doing an over night boat trip. I had lovely room mates who were very respectful and quiet both at night and early mornings. The majority of guests are very young backpackers but this wasn't an issue at all. I enjoyed my stay

They only give you a sheet with no duvet or blankets. It wasn't too warm during my stay and I was cold at night especially when other guests put the Aircon on. My bed was right next to the Aircon. It's obviously a problem as someone has tied a sheet up to protect me from the icy blasts. If you know it's an issue then it might be best not to use this bed. .

The property had such a good location and chill atmosphere!

The kitchen supplies could be cleaner, this is partially due to the guest using it but I think a big thing was they did not provide the best cleaning supplies. The dish soap was watered down, there weren’t enough bowls and barely enough silverware. A lot of hostels also have at least salt and pepper for their guest use which would be nice. The office hours for reception were also a bit of a pain, they should open earlier and stay open rather than stop in the middle of the day.

The location is great: right in the center, close to the beach and it only takes you about 10 minutes to walk to the Greyhound/Premier Bus stop and the marina for any boat trips. The rooms are big and have their own bathroom and balcony. Everything, including the kitchen and common areas, was really clean and the staff were friendly. Early check-in was super easy and you can store your luggage in some big lockers for free till your check-in time. The outside sitting area is really big with lots of tables and there is a little pool.

The hostel is quite old and is lacking a bit of charm (however it is well maintained). The plugs in the rooms are in the most unpractical locations, e.g. behind lockers, and there is too less. For that reason I had to charge all my electronics in the bathroom which was a bit annoying. Laundry prices are a bit expensive: 4$ per wash, 2$ for washing powder and 4$ for the dryer. If you want a towel that’s also 2$ extra. The pans in the kitchen are in an extremely bad condition. All of them had no coating anymore and had lots of bumps in them. I don’t know how you’re supposed to cook anything with them.

The vibe was amazing! It exceeded my expectations by a mile. The pool was lovely. It had a huge industrial kitchen, I quite liked all of the people there. It seemed we all mingled well, I get the feeling the place attracts cool people as I met about 15 people and everyone was awesome. Close to all facilities, a short walk to the beach and lagoon, shops everywhere for clothes shopping, plenty of venues for drinking, dining, very upper class, a few night clubs exist too if thats your thing. The whole experience was great.

Not staying longer!

I got worried a bit before I booked for this hostel as I’ve seen some 1 star reviews on websites but my stay was great overall. Location was pretty convenient first, pretty close to the beach and Woolworths. In my room, lockers were spacious and bed was comfy enough. Common areas were all clean and organised. Kitchen was pretty spacious with a bunch of utensils and had enough fridges to store food. The hostel has a pool inside so you may wanna use it during your stay. Staff were all pretty friendly, especially the Hispanic guy who works in the morning time(sorry, don’t know his name).

Facilities are a bit old but things were still working well so not a big problem. Some working holiday long term guests were “living” there but that scene is common in Australia.

The Hostel is in the heart of Airlie Beach with Woolworths, clothing shops, pubs, and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk away. It's a VERY easy 15-minute walk from the Greyhound bus stop to The Hostel. Staff at The Hostel are honestly some of the friendliest people I've ever met! They're happy to help with any queries, local knowledge, or something you need. Staff clean EVERY room, EVERY day being mindful of guests belongings along the way. It's easily the most clean hostel I've ever stayed at! Every room has its own shower/toilet combo, balcony, and air conditioning unit, which is SO NICE!

I was only there for one night, I was catching a Greyhound bus after a cruise, so for me, it worked really well. The rooms were pretty big and they were very clean. It's in a good location, fairly quiet, the staff is nice and the beds are comfortable. If you are just staying one night in Airlie Beach, this will work very well.

It's not a very 'cosy' hostel. For example, the common room lacks comfort, and it's not a place where you want to stay. Also, it's not a 'social hostel' in the sense that they don't organise any activities. Finally, there are virtually no plugs in the rooms.
