Overall room condition and services

The car park is like a maze and there aren't enough signs to show guests where the lifts are, it took me quite some time to figure out: after parking my car in the underground car park, I firstly entered a wrong lift which couldn't get to level 4 rooms (I entered it following other people, and later on I figured out that my room card didn't have access to that lift), and I had to get to the lobby from that lift and find the right lift for guest rooms and then get down to car park again, managed to get back to my car and figured out the best car park position for my room (i.e. close to that lift). It will be helpful if there are enough signs in the car park or the reception can provide a map to show where the lifts are and which areas they are for.

Loved the pool. And the gym. Great buffet breakfast too.

That it took an hour to get into our room, because the key card didn’t unlock our door. So we had to wait for maintenance.

Staff were amazing super friendly and accommodating! Rooms ultra clean, beds comfortable. Beautiful ambience at the hotel. Loved the pianist in the lobby. Buffet breakfast was one of the best I have had on the GC.

The pool was freezing! They hope to get it heated this year.

Room servicing requests weren’t efficient. Rooms need updating. Couch had a tear. Cupboard didn’t open properly. Bar fridge was tiny and aged. Buffet breakfast was great. The $8 “tray charge” for room service is so unnecessary considering the price of the dishes.

The hotel is located right near SeaWorld and although there are rumours that it is dated, it was honestly absolutely fine.

We were initially allocated room 148, which had a full-height, brick wall balcony and an awful smell because of its location within the hotel. We asked to change rooms and our only option was a room that cost an additional $50 a night, yet the hotel wasn’t even close to capacity. It appeared as though it was a tactic to push paid upgrades onto guests. This was very disappointing as the image on our booking was not an accurate reflection of the room we were allocated, and ate into our first day. We also ordered the $34 cheese platter based on a visual we saw on Instagram and it wasn’t presented in the same beautiful way, which was also disappointing. However our stay was otherwise pleasant.

The rooms are a good size with excellent bathroom facilities. The location of the Hotel is good if you want to be away from the crowds of Surfers Paradise but close enough if you want to spend some time there. Free Parking a huge plus.

Internet didn't work and staff were unable to help. This made it difficult to perform some work duties. Parts of the Hotel are needing an upgrade but it is generally of a very good standard. Breakfast was expensive at $42 per person.

The staff were very attentive and professional.

The lighting in the bathroom was very dim, it would be an advantage to have an option for brighter lighting. The spa bath jets had not been cleaned / flushed out with appropriate cleaning products. As a result of this procedure not being done, scum and obviously residue from previous guests dead skin cells and bodily oils etc had built up in the jets, when I emptied the bath the bathtub was when I discovered the problem. It is essential that spa baths are cleaned and maintained to ensure that hygiene is maintained.

The rooms - Air conditioning in the room was set and locked on 14.9 degrees (freezing) and the beds were so short and too small (double bed). Time to paint and update the rooms (looking old and out of date) such as the curtains. The bathroom is badly designed with the main bathroom door crashing into the shower door. To dark in the bathroom for applying makeup. Only one set of toiletries for 3 people (I thought that you could have put out more / something so small could make a difference.

Hotel looks amazing, high quality and very impressive from the entrance to the rooms. Staff were helpful and the pool was excellent. Kids really loved the pool and it wasnt too crowded even during school holidays thankfully.

Price of the buffet was excessive, although it was really a seafood buffet and our family doesnt eat Seafood so we paid a premium unnecessarily. The meal was actually significantly higher than the accommodation so I guess thats what didnt make sense to us.
