Loved the sea facing balcony, big couch, friendliness of the cleaners and when I had rung prior to arriving the staff were willing to take my request not to have a shower that is inside a bath (due to back injury of my travelling companion) and we even managed to get this despite being full most of the week we were there. Loved being in the middle of the Strand with so many restaurants available within walking distance even in the pouring rain

Only a microwave as a cooking facility but luckily we realized this before we arrived. Car park is great, except that it fills up rapidly at the end of the working day so if you drive to go out for tea, you don't usually get a park again. The shower is massive (a positive for me) but only has half a door so the water splashes everywhere. Also found not all the neighbours abide by the no smoking rules on the balcony but that was our problem for not reporting them. Overall a really nice place to stay

Superb location on The Strand and near shops (including Coles and a Chemist )and restaurants and short walk to ferry for Magnetic Island. I was given a room with balcony overlooking beach and promenade and partly overlooking the hotel's pool on the first floor. My initial thought was that it would be noisy but I was very surprised at how quiet it was inside the room. As I stayed over the weekend, there was a performance at a private function that continued during late at night but even that did not disturb my sleep. The view from the balcony on a balmy Townsville night was the best! Whilst the decor of the rooms is a little outdated, the hotel was very well equipped with all the amenities to help make it a very pleasant stay. There is a nice kitchenette with a microwave, a bath tub and the bed was comfy enough. Highly recommended and very good value.

We enjoyed layout of room. Room was good size and was comfortably dark for sleeping Having single bed (along with Queen bed) enabled us to put our suitcase & belongings on it using things at good height. Air conditioning worked well. Our view from our balcony was spectacular. Aquarius on the Beach 's location is so convenient- we were able to walk to restaurants, cafes, bars & the esplanade. Car parking for us was always available. Staff were friendly & helpful.

While the bathroom is dated, it was clean. Unfortunately there isn't great water pressure when showering & hot water could've been hotter. Older guests would have to be careful stepping into bathtub to take a shower. Queen bed mattress needs replacing- there's a dip in middle of it!

The Aquarius is in a perfect location right on the Strand so close to Restaurants, Cafe's and everything you could need. The hotel itself is an older style but very comfortable and convenient with friendly staff. Parking was'nt a problem and we really enjoyed our stay, We managed to secure a great price with an amazing view. Would highly recommend if staying in Townsville.

There was street noise, but I bought ear plugs so it was'nt a problem for me, but your right there in the main area so its to be expected.

We loved the location, it is so close to the water & many restaurants but the main reason we stay at the Aquarius is because each room has a balcony with a water view. We always have a good night’s sleep because the beds are so comfortable.

Whilst the staff are not rude in anyway, we just found they were not overly friendly, which we feel creates an uninviting atmosphere in the foyer.

Nice room, equipped with everything we needed. Location is very good but - see negatives. From inside the hotel, there was no noise. Nice balcony to spend the evenings. Restaurants nearby. The pool is spacious and inviting.

Some weirdos seem to have fun speeding on the road in front in the night. Woke up several times. Why is there no police if it happens every night, at about the same time? Besides: I don't know if this is the fault of the hotel or Booking.com- there is no safe available.

We were on our honeymoon. We were right on the beach. The bed was a large mattress not 2 together. Great water pressure. Clean n tidy. Close to night life n a variety of places to eat. The beach/strand was clean. A lot to do within walking distance. U could c castle hill from the hall.

Didn’t like the door between the 2 apartments b/c we could hear my in-laws. The staff member on desk wasn’t as friendly or as helpful as another staff member that I heard checking in another couple. The view from the room was looking over the beach n boats/ yacht. Would go back again.

After-hours/midnight check in worked well (you need to speak with staff via the intercom). Room OK, nice bed, nice bathroom, great balcony overlooking the sea + Magnetic Island. On the strand - lovely area for a stroll. Swimming pool looked great. Professional staff. Rooms clean. Nice coffee/tea facilities. Lovely photo book of tropical North Queensland present in the room.

Limited car parking but was able to secure a spot. Slightly expensive but view compensates for this. Lighting needs to be a bit improved e.g. certain dimmed night lights would be nice to have.

Loved the view and spot! Nice size room with a glass dinning table including a fridge, & microwave. We cooked our steaks across the road at the bbq. Coles is a five min walk. Pool is nice and relaxing.

I didn’t like the two sliding doors on the bathroom the wouldn’t shut completely and kept coming off the track. Ceiling fans would have been great! Has aircon and beach breeze but it can be noisy when leaving the door open at night or if you leave the aircon I found I would wake up with a dry cough.

The hotel's location was absolutely amazing, right on the Strand, near the rock pool and the swimming nets at the beach& restaurants and bars. The view from the hotel was also lovely. We were on the eighth floor, so it was stunning. The reception and housekeeping staff were wonderful!

The hotel is starting to feel a bit outdated. Our room wasn’t very clean, though it was tidy. The showerhead needs a good scrub, as it was covered in buildup.
