I've stayed several times as a stopover on trips between Adelaide and Gippsland. The room is basic but perfect for an overnight stay, especially with the self-serve breakfast. The budget room is compact, but not sparse. Side tables for the beds; stools and a table easy to move around to eat or work, and plenty of power points! The staff at checkin are friendly as is the local house cat! The Ballarat Golf Club Bistro is just over the road, so you can get a nice meal there at the end of a days drive. There's also a pizza, and fish and chip shop within walking distance.

Definitely value for money! An older motel, but our room was renovated with a white ensuite, cupboards to the floor under the vanity for excellent storage. Beds were very comfortable and warm. A welcome addition was a self-serve breakfast in a clean, bright detached room- choices of cereal, milks, juices, breads and a range of jams, honey, vegemite etc. There were 3 toasters, tea and coffee, and dishes were left in clearly labelled tubs. I am coeliac, but was able to bring my own food and use the crockery, cutlery, butter, juice etc. Breakfast was included in the reasonable price. On a little road parallel to Sturt St, it was quiet and allowed easy access to our destinations. Will definitely stay again.

Location, easy access, good parking. Very friendly lady at reception, good breakfast range, very comfotable room and good facilities and shower, couldn't fault any of this.

Seems petty, but overly friendly resident Tabby cat kept running into room whenever door opened and sat outside loudly meowing from about 4.30 am onwards. Room was very soundproofed from traffic noise etc but this moggy was clearly heard. Only 4 teabags and white sugar too.

I got upgraded to a bigger room as they were out so I can’t really give an opinion on my room, but the bed was super comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast is just continental (toast or cereal) but even that is good and they have a good hall for guests to have their meals in.

The price on booking.com is so much higher than in person if I wanted to turn up and get a room. But that’s a lesson for me and others who use this service! Also the water saving shower heads don’t make for the best shower

Quiet & clean, a lovely swimming pool that I could not use because there aren’t any railings to prevent from falling. (I packed my swimming suit, & my walking stick, but I knew it wasn’t safe enough for me.)

The pillow’s & mattress were very uncomfortable. I had the plug from the electric blankets digging into my hips, on both sides. I think that they should be removed over the summer period. I had to buy a pillow at Kmart, because my neck was aching & I couldn’t sleep.

Great spot for overnight travelling thru. Room had everything I needed and continental breakfast was included and plenty. Great layout of motel rooms with plenty of easy parking. Thankyou, will stay again when needed. ** Suggestion - info folder in the room, with the motel layout...breakfast room/wifi/near by eating/other local info would be handy to read once settled in.

Room was very clean and was upgraded to queen size at no extra cost which was a nice surprise. Bed was comfortable as well. My husband enjoyed the breakfast, I had to fast.

The heater didn’t really seem to warm the room and dirty plug hole in bathroom basin otherwise everything was good. Would stay there again when weather isn’t as cold. Would recommend to friends.

Exceptional value for money, the room was very clean and Tastefully decorated. Breakfast was great, cereals, toast, juice and coffee all provided and included in the price. The resident cat was a pleasant surprise, came in for a pat and some company 😀 I'd definitely come back and stay again.

Only one down fall, I would have given 10 stars if it wasn't for this. The water pressure in the shower was dreadful, unsure why.

It has been updated, it’s clean and the facilities are modern. Freddie the cat welcomes you as you get out of your vehicle and says hello every morning. The staff too are welcoming and friendly and do a great job making sure the rooms are up to scratch. I will definitely stay at the Avenue again.

The shower is in the middle of the bathroom between the toilet and the sink. It means that if you want to clean your teeth after breakfast and a shower the floor is wet so you will need to dry the floor and the sink gets wet. It was quirky but do able!
