Stunning rooms!! Beautiful furnishings and all in a fabulous location….

The noise from the downstairs lounge ( guests talking) impeded our nights sleep… We went to bed around 9.30 as we had an early start in the morning…

Hotel Vera drops the mic and walks out. That is it. THE best hotel and service we have had - ever. What a pleasure it was to stay there. THE most curated and considered rooms and furnishings. Personal check ins from a lounge instead of a desk. SO much care and thought has been put into this place, down to the finest of details. We were blown away! We recommend Hotel Vera to anyone who wants a luxe and modern escape, while still keeping the beauty of historic Ballarat within her walls. Beautiful hotel, exceptional layout. Comfortable bed and amazing bathroom. Amenities and toiletries were first class and you can tell the hosts Martin and David have an eye for detail with the design of the room and the appointments/accesories. We were greeted on our check in and communication was always prompt, plus the hosts were warm and welcoming, Hard to stay anywhere else in Ballarat after experiencing this hotel. Will try their 'hatted' restaurant next time around.

Nothing negative.

Fantastic location walking distance to shops & restaurants. This wasnt just a stay it was an experience!!! The showers were divine. Instant hot water & fantastic pressure. Everything was spotlessly clean. They had retained the heritage of the building but installed state of the art lighting and gadgetry that is all very unobtrusive. It was very evident that the owners truly love the building and the industry. I cant wait to go back on a night that the intimate restaurant is operating to experience their degustation menu.

There was nothing to not like about this stay.

The warm and friendly greeting on arrival was unexpected. The mini tour of the hotel telling me about the history - both that of the building and how it became Hotel Vera, the artwork - amazing pieces. Keeping the true identity of the building and integrating the modern features - excellent choice. Clear instructions on how everything worked in the room. A lot of thought went into every detail to make our stay truly relaxing. Bed was cosy and comfortable. Sensor lighting in the bathroom area - great idea. Hotel Vera thought of everything. The location allowed for easy walking into the centre of Ballarat.

As a business traveller the lack of a desk and office chair meant that working in the room proved difficult.

The staff were amazing! They made us feel like royalty, and the experience felt so personalized from the moment we checked in. The room felt large and very modern, with great amenities. The bed was huge and while initially felt firm, it ended up being super comfortable! Finally, breakfast in the stunning onsite restaurant was superb. Fully recommend booking a stay here. Being on the ground floor, there was some noise during the evening and morning from traffic and other guests.

Absolutely 5 star. The interior design is outstanding. All the details are covered from luxurious rooms, complete with the fine details that make this hotel stunning. Fabulous colour schemes, beautifully procured with the most lovely pieces of art. Technology plus. Automatic lighting, electric blinds in baths, divine toiletries, scrumptious tea, coffee & treats. Beautiful bestoke suites. Even a doggie friendly one for extra well-behaved furry family members. On weekends, their restaurant is a gastronomic delight. A real unique hotel. All staff were exceptional. Extremely clean. My stay was so magnificent.

Absolutely nothing.

Absolutely the most comfortable, elegant and welcoming place that we have ever found.We were sorry to be only staying 1 night. We were so impressed with the beauty of Hotel Vera...everything is so carefully chosen and styled. Our host gave us a personal tour, including how the lights and heating worked to the story behind the artworks. Our room was utterly sumptuous with stunning, top quality furnishing, Dyson hair dryer, beautiful local teas, and delicious coffee. The restoration of the beautiful gold rush mansion has exercised great restraint and respect for its history while seamlessly overlaying perfect minimalist modernity by its side.

I can't fault our stay at all.

The excellent restoration of this magnificent Victorian building shows how clever and considerate are the owners. They have incorporated luxury comfort without losing the features of the building, and the modern extension to the property blends seamlessly. Throughout the place are cosy reading nooks and a marvellous and eclectic selection of fabulous books, art and memorabilia, placed always to enhance the sense of design. The owners are warm and friendly and add to the overall sense of welcome and serenity. The weekend continental breakfast was excellent. Overall we felt a sense of calm in this lovely place.

A shower mat would help in the marble shower recess which is slippery when wet.
