I loved the traditional style of the hotel, I stayed there twice, my first stay was in a very quaint room with simple traditional furnishings, my second stay was in a more modern room. Both of the rooms suited me well, they were clean, comfortable and warm and everything worked. The buffet breakfast was very enjoyable with a good choice of breads, cereals and cheeses and meats. The coffee was great too. I particularly liked that the hotel is family run, the lady who welcomed me on arrival was very charming and very efficient. I was very impressed that she even handed me my room key (while attending to another customer) without me having to ask for my room number, it was a little thing but shows someone who was on top of their game! Location is about five minutes walk from the main railway station and about 25 minutes walk to the centre, the area felt safe.

The Location is 3 min by walk to the train station- so 👍. Because of that you have supermarkets near by. The city center is 25 min by walk Was clean, the staff was nice- I payed the city tax with the credit card- which is awesome because I never carry to much money on me The hotel has a history behind and it was like staying at a relative 😇

It would have been a 10 from me is there was a mini fridge in the room- so much needed for the beer and wine The pillow was basically no pillow- extremely used, my neck hurt because of that

Great location! Very helpful and kind staff. Great to store luggage on site until train left. Tasty breakfast.

Rooms were very warm with no way to regulate temperature

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hohenstauffen very much. The peaceful ambiance, kind staff, beautiful vintage decor, real keys instead of cards, and the baroque salon filled with classic board games were wonderful additions to our experience. All the basic amenities were there too: the bed was cosy, breakfast was very tasty, and the location was perfect-close to many attractions, the river, the main train station, and other public transport. The Wi-Fi was decent, our room was quiet, and there was ample parking space. The staff also responded quickly to my message on Booking.com. We're already planning to stay here again when we visit Salzburg (hopefully very soon).

No minibar/fridge, and the hair dryer could be better.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip to Salzburg. The hotel is just a 3 min walk from the Salzburg Central Train Station. It is owned by the Reichl family and managed by Linda and her children Andreas & Sara. Right from our check-in Linda made us feel at home. Our room on the second floor was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower. Toiletries were provided. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, so we paid 6 Euro per person and opted for it. The items were plentiful, both hot, cold & continental. The entire family puts in a lot of effort to ensure that the breakfast items are stocked up and the tables cleaned up as soon as you finish. For visiting the Salzburg sights & city center, there are multiple buses just outside the Train station, that go thru the historic part of town, so visiting all the major tourist attractions is a breeze. We purchased the 48 hours Salzburg card, so public transportation was free. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hohenstauffen. Thank you Linda & team.

The location was close to the train station, making it very convenient. We were able to use the time we had to explore all the wonderful locations in Salzburg we wanted to see. Breakfast was lovely with many choices, all fresh and constantly replenished.

Upon check-in, with a reservation for a room with two single beds, we were given a small room that contained one twin bed. Initially, the front desk confirmed they made a mistake and there were no other rooms available to accommodate us. It took them a few minutes to locate a different room which they offered to show us to confirm if it was acceptable. It was a room with two single mattresses, not two separate beds. We accepted it as our only option and found it to be clean and comfortable. The listing stated there were air-conditioned rooms, but we found no air conditioning in our room. There was a portable unit in the lobby only. The weather outside was in the mid-high 90's making it a bit uncomfortable for sleeping.

We stayed at this hotel for a short city trip and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent — very close to the city center, which made it easy to explore the main sights on foot. A big plus is the free parking space, which is convenient if you’re traveling by car. Our room was spacious, furnished in an old style but with a certain charm and elegance that we appreciated. In the morning, breakfast was served by the owner, a very kind and welcoming lady, which made the start of the day especially nice. However, there were a few downsides. Our room faced a busy street, so it was quite noisy at night, which made sleeping a bit difficult. Additionally, there was no air conditioning, and while a fan was provided, it was loud and not very effective at cooling the room. Overall, this hotel is a good choice if you want to stay near the city center and value friendly service and free parking. Just be aware that street noise and the lack of air conditioning might be an issue, especially in warmer months.

Breakfast was a delight. Lots of options for an European style breakfast. Even given my own coffee pot. Felt very elegant. Building itself is a treasure trove of antiques. Single room was small, as. expected, but clean, and adequately furnished. Within walking distance to train and transit into the city. Family run operation, so that made it special.

It was close to the train station, even though it was a short walk, the area around the hotel isn't appealing, being it is located close the train station. Kinda of a give and take on that one. It is a bit dark when returning in the evening hours being a single lady. Quite doable but something to consider. The room also smelled like smoke before going to bed. I know it is common in Europe, but coming from Canada it was noticeable.

We stayed in the two-bedroom annex apartment. The hotel is within walking distance of the main attractions. The apartment was clean, and an excellent breakfast was included with our stay. Additionally, there is a free and spacious parking lot available.

The apartment would be more appropriately called a two-bedroom suite with a small sitting room, as it does not have a kitchen. It is in a separate building from the main hotel. The facilities in the apartment are quite outdated, and the bathrooms are awkward. However, the hotel itself is very charming, with beautifully decorated lobby and dining rooms. For a family of four, I’d recommend booking two separate double rooms in the main hotel building instead of the apartment.

The owner and the staff are the best part of the stay - they are extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but decent. Just don't expect the same amount of variety of food as you get with other chain hotels. Room is sufficiently noise insulated. I could not hear guests in the other room during our stay.

Room size is rather small, but sufficient to fit two luggage for a twin room. A little lack of ventilation within the room; we needed to open the window to get air flow.
