The decor is lovely. The rooms are well-designed and have all the basic amenities. Plenty of plugs and reliable wireless. The location was great - one block from the river with a nice walking trail to the historic old town. There is a grocery and a pharmacy one block in the other direction and it's all just five minutes from the train station. There was access to a washing machine and a small shared kitchen and there was a sink in the room. Also this was a good value. It wasn't the cheapest hostel ever, but it was well worth the price. The connected restaurant on the ground floor was also a lovely source for vegetarian and vegan food.
There is no staff. If you have a problem late at night I have no idea how you would contact someone. The bathrooms were wet and stuffy and then they would open the windows to get air flow, but that made it really cold.

We really appreciated the natural wood eco-vibe of the room, and the design- feature lighting, incorporating plug points. It wasn't overly spacious, but the twin (bunk) beds were comfortable, allowing room for a desk, chair and 'log' stools/footrests. It was also really useful to have our own sink. We borrowed mugs from the shared kitchen, and made use of the kettle there, for hot drinks. We also used the communal fridge. Our room was close to the single shower/toilet on the first floor, which we found to be a positive, rather than a negative. It wasn't overly noisy and was rarely occupied, when required. In this instance, there was another toilet down the corridor, on the way to the kitchen. Our room was clean, and the shared areas were regularly cleaned throughout the day. It got quite hot in the room, but we kept our curtain closed, and had the fan on. During the day, we also had the window open, but closed it at night, for a little sound-proofing. The accommodation was 12 minutes walk from the main station, less to the river, and about 20 minutes (along the river) into the old town. There was also a Billa Supermarket 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast was available, but we didn't partake. We arrived early and left our luggage in a storage room behind the main stairs. It isn't 100% secure, but it's tucked away, out of sight of the open front door. We kept our valuables with us and left the rest. The accommodation was good value for money, well-located for the station, and a pleasant, quirky set-up, with good communication from the management. Check-in was wholly automated, so our rooms became accessible at exactly 3pm
The rooms were on the small side and got very warm, especially with the bare bulb lighting. Whilst the small fan helped, it was quite noisy. An oscillating, larger fan might work better. A certain degree of mobility is required to get up to the top bunks - think climbing frame, rather than ladder! There was a degree of door-slamming, perhaps accidental, or due to thoughtlessness, but this seemed to stop in the later evening. As others have said, the floorboards were a bit creaky, but it was still nice to have natural wooden flooring.

Location is excellent - walking distance to the train station and altstatt. Room had all we needed - super comfy beds, great heating and a shower and basin. Good wi-fi. Check in was automatic - they emailed us a code to open the door. There’s a vegan restaurant on the ground floor. We didn’t eat there but the food looked (and smelled!) very good.
The room is a little cramped, but otherwise perfect. The accommodation is staffless - if there’s an issue there is only a telephone number to call. Although a code is used to access individual rooms, access to the lobby, luggage storage and bathroom areas are actually open anyone who can walk in off the street - could be a safety risk.

An economy accommodation at good value for money, quite central location. Special interior design, close to nature (wood/forest-type furniture) and sustainability. Spacious room, with wash basin. Located about a 7 minute walk from the central station, and within 3 minutes of a medium-sized shopping center, public transport (bus lines), and close to a major shopping street, in turn not far from the old town. Automatic check-in and check-out. An excellent restaurant downstairs, with a very tasty selection of vegan and other foods. Great breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Some brighter lighting in the room would be good. Wifi could sometimes drop, though this seemed to depend on the specific location of a room, e.g. if further up or to the side.

I had very nice stay. Rooms, bathroom and shared kitchen was very clean and organized. I really like the wood decorations. Minimal eco-design, comfortable bed (that is important after long walks). The locations was also good: 10 min walk to train and bus station, city centre 10 minutes walk. Easy check-in and check-out. Easy to find. Shops nearby. Very good price.
Walls little bit thin (I heard people talking next to my room). You can hear also trains (but for me was ok). Wi-fi sometimes was loosing signal.

I liked the eco-friendly focus of the place, the vibe, the natural materials. The caffè at the ground floor was a very pleasant place to relax in. The breakfast was, I would use the word, spectacular having many tasty vegan options.
I kinda missed someone working the reception desk, they're often pleasant to chat with and get information from. When we entered I saw a large section with brochures and thought "great, now we're at a point where we're replacing people with things like this which is both less nice to interact with and slower to answer the questions in our head". I would also have liked to see some kind of common room area, where people can chill and there are some activities, that can feel like the beating heart of a place.

Location is perfect for exploring Salzburg. Close to Train station and close to the city center. Funny thing about QR codes in the hotel - none of them worked. I was trying to read them all in order to find out more history behind items in the hostel. Place is quiet and clean. Pity we were travelling over Sunday and Monday, so did not had a chance to try out restaurant food. Easy to access as we get all codes before the stay. Room was nice and quirky.
I understand that hostels shares the showers and toilets, but I was expecting them to be a bit more clean. As the hostel advertises as ecological, I understand the mind between the style and decor, but it feels a bit undercared. Hostel does not have AC, so the rooms were really hot and hard to sleep in. Standing fan was a nice gesture, but it did not helped too much.

The rooms were lovely, with good mood lighting and very aesthetic decor. There's a kitchen with the essentials and a nice place to sit outside. You can also store luggage before and after check in/out. Nice and close to the train station.
It was very hot when we stayed and although there was a fan it didn't help too much! It's difficult to shower privately in the room because there isn't a great place to change afterwards if you have a friend in the room, but it was manageable.

The room was clean as were the showers and toilets. It's is close to the city centre but I would have preferred something the other side of the railway bridge. Having the key code was good as I didn't have to worry about carrying a key, especially when going to the bathroom. A fan was provided in the room. The bed was comfortable
Obviously, as it's an Eco hostel there is no air conditioning so it was a bit warm in the small room but luckily they provided a fan.

Keep Eco Rooms in Salzburg stands out with its charming woody decor, each space feels warm, natural, and thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind. The rooms and common areas are consistently clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable, eco-conscious atmosphere.
That said, one thing to be aware of is that there's only one shared shower and toilet on each floor. While they were always clean and well-stocked, it occasionally led to brief waits during peak usage times.
