This hotel is in easy walking distance of the Altstadt. We had a large room overlooking the garden, very nice. The staff were friendly and informative. The hotel had been renovated recently. It was warm, clean and comfortable. Every day we used the communal coffee room.

A few minor points about the bathroom. I didn't like having to step into the bath to shower and the shower screen didn't prevent the water wetting the rest of the bathroom. There were no hooks to hang towels or clothes in the bathroom.

What a lovely little hotel right in the middle of Salzburg. Julian was my first contact with the staff and instantly made me feel welcome. She took the time to show me around the hotel and explain the amenities and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I had booked a single bed room and was surprised to be upgraded to a double without any additional cost. The rooms are so clean and have everything you could ask for without charging an enormous fee. I would highly recommend the Hotel Markus Sittikus when traveling to Salzburg as the comfort and location can't be beat.

The hotel is in a great location. All major sights and the station are in easy walking distance. It has a pleasantly different, traditional but not fusty decor, in a much appreciated contrast to the usual corporate hotel style. The breakfast is excellent. The communal honesty bar has a wonderful collection of vinyl for guests to play. Restful garden in the back. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and welcoming.

As many reviews have already pointed out, if the lack of air conditioning in the hot Salzburg summers is an issue for you, don't stay there. Our top floor room was very warm. Efficient fans are provided though. Hair dryer could do with being updated.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always gave me an instant reply. There were stairs between the hotel main entrance and reception, I had to drag my huge luggage, that was the part I hated the most. I mentioned that to the staff in entrance, she actively offered the help. Much appreciated and I felt a bit sorry as my luggage was very heavy no kidding. Also, the room was bright at night with lots of lighting, love that.

Comfortable and clean in a good location ten minutes walk from the town centre and five minutes from the main railway station. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. Umbrellas were available to borrow which was very useful for rainy days. There was free coffee in the lounge which was appreciated and a garden to sit in when the weather was good. We didn’t use the honesty bar in the music lounge but this was a nice touch.

Although coffee was available downstairs we would have appreciated some coffee making facilities in the room.

The hotel has a great location and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Very easy to get around the city and the gardens are very close. The lady that works at the reception and welcomed us was so lovely, friendly and helpful. She was patient with us and offered excellent service. She also later gave us a tour and made us feel very welcome.

The room was not ready at check in time and we were on a tight schedule. But the staff working at hotel were lovely and polite.

Room and bathroom was clean. Water pressure in the shower was good. The Staff were friendly. Endless supply of coffee/tea/hot water in the living room (common area). There's lift facility. Closed to train station. Value for money. Free luggage storage. I left my luggage there after checking out, it gave me opportunity to explore Salzburg and surrounding areas more for the whole day. Thank you!

Excellent location and very friendly staff. We had a room at the back facing the gardens, which was nice and quiet. The temperatures in Salzburg were very high, and although the room did not have air con, I could sleep with the window wide open and not be disturbed by noise.

Nothing really. It's quite pricy, but then so are all the hotels in Salzburg.

The hotel is really great, with lots of special touches that make it special, such as the honesty bar and record player. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, though I would have preferred another pillow as mine was very soft. The staff were wonderful and whilst the breakfast was a little expensive, the food and attention to detail made it a great start to the day.

If you want to stay in a hotel with a nostalgic atmosphere in Europe, this is the place. It's not modern except for the elevator, but it's nice to have one. Front desk, living room, bar and courtyard..... every facilities are very welcoming and warm feeling... and very friendly staff. Location of the hotels was great. The main train station, tour meeting point and the old town are within walking distance. Very quiet neighborhood. Bathroom (shower) was good and bed was very conformable to had a good sleep. My friend and I like this place and we will choose this hotel if we visit Salzburg again.

Even though our room was small, it was comfortable. If equipped folding table, it would be perfect. I didn't see "Don't Disturb" tag because I usually don't need to clean my room and change the towel during my 2-3 days stay.
