December 2024

My husband and I went to the Urban Boutique hotel in Vienna for my husbands 70th birthday on the 9th December 2024. The room was spotless and well looked after every day. Comfortable and warm. Nothing was a bother for the ower Edward. Staff were very helpfull and friendly. We would highly recommend the Urban Boutique Hotel. The hotel is located in the Andeagasse and a 1 minute walk from the hotel to the underground of Zeiglergasse subway station and from there you can go all around the city of Vienna. The street outside has many many shops to buy ladies and gents clothing. We found loads of cafes and restaurants within a 5 - 10 min walk.

We were on the 3rd floor and after a heavy meal and a drink it was a little bit of a struggle to make it up 3 flights of stairs. We had to stop and have a seat at each level. Edward the owner stated that next year an escalator will be put in. That will make the Urban Boutique Hotel just perfect!

July 2025

Early July 2025. The room had its own shower and sink. The toilet was the only part shared. This was nice! Only 3-4 rooms share a toilet- never an issue. The breakfast was good. Had eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, crepes, jelly, butter, Nutella, honey, cheese slices and cold cuts, cereal, yogurt and fruit. 7:30-10:00 Had tea that was accesible at all times. Had a coffee machine that made cappuccinos for example. Staff were great. Bed was super comfy. New towels and sheets everyday. Large window. Fan. Shampoo and soap and q-tips, comb, basic slippers, hair dryer: all there. Right outside of metro stop: Zieglergasse- find exit for Andreasgasse for the exit directly next to hotel.

All my negatives had easy fixes - I see these more as tips! No AC but large window and fan and at night the temps to the 60s F (15-20 C) dropped so I was fine. Blanket was a bit too warm but I easily could have taken the duvet insert out to use just the duvet cover. Street was sometimes loud but not always. Brought earplugs and was fine! Sun rises early in summer so if you keep the black out curtains open for air, bring eye covers.

The location was central, which is something I was looking forward to. It is one of the few places that provides breakfast and dinner options within the price. I stayed in two different rooms, the one with the private bathroom was smaller in size in comparison to the one with no private bathroom and only with a shower.

The room I stayed in was quite small in terms of size with a massive closet for clothes which I believe was unnecessary as it took quite a lot of the room's space and made it difficult to move around. Also the tv was positioned behind the bed which means you need to change your position in bed to upside down to be able to watch sth on the tv.

I liked the very central location in Mariahilfer Strasse with a U-bahn (metro) station a few meters from the hotel. You can walk anywhere in the city centre or take public transport if you need to very easily. May restaurants, cafés and shops nearby. The staff was kind and helpful, allowing me to check in a bit earlier than usual as the room was already available. The bed is very comfortable and the facilities are very nice.

My room opened to the breakfast room. Given that I had booked a room with a shared toilet (by mistake) it was uncomfortable that exposure to strangers. The breakfast was sufficient but not worth it.

The property has a very good location. Near the metro and bus stop. It’s right in the middle of shopping area with groceries and restaurants. It is very accessible.

There were no lifts so if you have a big luggage that might be difficult. The one and only pillow in my room is too soft that it actually feels like you’re not using any at all. The wifi is really bad especially at night. Even when you’re not playing videos and just loading up a website say to research where you’re going the next day it doesn’t load or it takes a long time. I had to use my mobile data most of the time which is not really good if you have limited roaming data only.

Location is in the city center. Metro is one minute, mcdonald/kfc and many restaurants and stores as well. Personal was very friendly. The structure of hotel felt more like being at home than at hotel. Urban boutique hotel is really adequate name :) Breakfast was simple, but adequate, sweet and salty as well. Even hot food (bacon, eggs, sausage)

The room was cold, but whole Wein was cold :) The electric heating was working, but it was not enough. It could be more clean, but I guess this was more about the age of equipment. It was not dirty, it was "old".

The room was decorated nicely and the sheets were nice and light. The floor unit air conditioner made the heat a little more bearable. It was also nice to have a shower and sink in the room, and we only needed to share the WC. The coffeemaker made a decent coffee and the building was lovely. The staff was also kind.

Unfortunately, the Internet didn't work the entirety of our stay - there was a strong wifi signal but no Internet. Additionally, one of the beds had broken slats that made it rather uncomfortable. This is totally not the fault of the hotel, but there was really loud drilling and construction work outside at 4am!

Wasn't far from the centre with lots of restaurants and cafes along the way. Breakfast staff absolutely lovely, as was the receptionist and attached-bistro owner. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Twin room was basic but comfortable with a very appreciated coffee/tea machine. No lift, but a wide and quite shallow staircase. Check-in was quick and our room was available earlier. Receptionist called 2 taxis for us during our stay, both of which arrived perfectly on time.

Breakfast room can get very busy and not much space between tables. No street noise, but the last 2 nights a machine somewhere close to our room kicked in and was quite loud - bring ear plugs. Shower a little temperamental (but always had hot water) and bathroom very small (but better a small bathroom than a shared one). Cleaning staff made beds and supplied new towels, coffee capsules and tea, but didn't hoover the room.

Lovely staff running a quirky place, full of character, in a great location. If you're looking for standardisation à la Ibis, or Radisson Blu, this won't be for you. But if you appreciate something a little different, run by real humans, try the Urban Boutique. Decent breakfast, too.

The decor is a little schizophrenic and short on taste - cheap early 90s Balkans in places, perhaps. But for some, that might be part of the charm. I didn't mind.

Location is perfect, 1' walk from metro station. Breakfast on Sunday was superb but on Monday was rather poorer in variety (maybe because of fewer customers). Cleanliness was OK but it could be given more attention, especially in the room's private bathroom. Staff were polite and helpful. Pictures of the room I stayed in, are raher more illustrious than in reality. All in all, I would stay again in Urban Boutique Hotel, Vienna!
