I had the best holiday week at this wonderful hotel! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the amenities were top-notch. A special mention goes to Milija, who took care of breakfast every morning with such kindness and professionalism. The selection was fantastic—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented—but it was Milija’s attentive and friendly service that made each morning truly special. The staff as a whole were incredibly accommodating, always ensuring that guests felt comfortable and well taken care of. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area while still enjoying a peaceful retreat at the hotel. I can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you for making my stay so memorable—I will definitely be returning.

The staff is TOP TIER. Attentive, responsive and kind. They gave me a cake dessert for my birthday and a free bottle of wine. The location is amazing. It is off the high street with all the major global retail shops but also the museum quarter (walking distance to Albertina for example) and right off the subway. There is also an amazing bar right in the building. Design / decor is outstanding!

The room I stayed in (Room 408) opened right into the bathroom which was odd architecture. I also could not easily control the heating. Also the lighting was a bit low at night (more for mood lighting than actual illumination).

The hotel was absolutely lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal. We went for my 30th birthday celebration and the hotel made sure to sent some champagne with our breakfast the day of which was so kind of them. This was on top of the bottle of wine they gift each guest with at the beginning of their stay. It was clear that they also take into account all reviews and feedback - we read before we went that some people struggled with the light switches and using the phone of the room so the hotel prepared a room guide that hands to all guests. The hotel also gave us a guide on where to eat, shop, have coffee, and what to visit if we only had a day in Vienna. We tried most of their recommendations and exceeded expectations. They even provided us with free umbrellas when the weather was poor and these little touches make this affortable hotel feel very special. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so lovely.

There isn't any soundproofing when using the bathroom but we knew that going in and noise cancelling headphones solved the problem for us. I also think having a "do not disturb" sign could be helpful - twice people from the hotel knocked on our door when we were napping but they were very apologetic and it was not a big deal.

Hotel Josefine is just as beautiful in person as the photos. We had such a delightful stay here - from the large, comfy bed to the bottle of red wine on arrival, this is a perfect place to stay for couples in Vienna. There is a large record collection and listening room to enjoy, along with a classy cocktail bar which doubles as the delightful breakfast room (serving up lots of mouth-watering options). Modern bathroom fittings juxtapose the vintage tile options in the shower, with two shower heads to enjoy. Walking out the front door you are only metres away from one of the longest shopping streets in Europe. Sensational place for a Viennese getaway.

The bathroom doesn't have much privacy, so make sure you're VERY comfortable with the person you're staying with.

The location is good and the staff exceptional. There is a fabulous breakfast, and an excellent cocktail bar.

The one thing we had trouble with was the lighting in the rooms, which employs dim bulbs and dark red shades that give out little light. The rooms have a bathroom in the room, as opposed to off it, with minimal privacy. There is very little hanging and storage space, and only five hangars are provided, which is not enough for two people when there are no shelves or drawers. there is no chair in the room, only a small stool. It all looks very nice and hip, but it is not designed with practicality in mind.

The breakfast and the room it was in were brilliant. The staff were lovely, very helpful and no problem with speaking English, the porter gave us a lovely welcome on first arriving. The Barflys cocktail bar in the evening was a brilliant bonus and well worth using in the evening. The decor of the entrance hall, lobby, and breakfast room were fantastic. Very easy to get to the U3 metro into the city centre, but walking in you get to the museum quarter first so walking along the very varied and pedestrianised shopping street is a very good option. Reception staff were very helpful. Bottle of Austrian, delicious, red wine left in the room.

A wall between the bedroom half and the shower/toilet half would be good but that would shrink the space.

The breakfast was outstanding - truly excellent. The hotel and room's design were lovely. The staff was friendly and did their best to be helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the shower worked well, though we had to lower the water pressure so that the water wouldn't leak out under to t=door to the room. The location was great - very close to public transportation, and walking distance to the old city center.

The general facilities were very clean. The cleaning staff did a good job in our room, but didn't clean the floor every day. There was almost no place to store clothing, but we improvised by using the top of the (rather small) shelf box. The shower and the toilet shared one sliding door, which was strange, but we got used to it.

We loved our stay at this fabulous hotel, everything was first class. The decor was beautiful and artistic, jazz age meets Wes Anderson style. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our ideale plus room was wonderful; clean, quiet, comfortable and luxurious, it was hard to get up and go out each morning! The breakfast was as delicious to look at as it was to eat, and the breakfast in room option was a treat. Lots of special touches like a complimentary bottle of wine, and bathrobes to wear. We had fun looking at the records in the brilliant phonothek room, and enjoyed cocktails in glamorous Barfly's. Excellent location, next to the U3 line and a short walk to the museums, cafes etc. We couldn't have hoped for a better or more romantic place to stay in Vienna and are dreaming of coming back one day.

Open plan bathroom took some getting used to. Sadly the record player wasn't working during our stay, so we couldn't get to hear the amazing selection of records.

Staff was exceptional and always friendly. Location was perfect, 2 walking minutes to shopping, 10-15 for Christmas market, and all the noteworthy sites. The hotel feels even more charming than the online photos. Very quaint and quiet. The attached restaurant serving breakfast in the morning was delicious and offered a good variety of choices. Both food and staff were wonderful. The bar (Barfly) after hours was great! A fun selection of cocktails from their famous menu. Rooms were well appointed with generous amenities, plenty of hot water and cozy beds. Perfect location near everything. I am very particular, and I would stay here again and again.

Location is superb. The decor is unique and true to the concept, we loved it. Beds and pillows are super comfortable. The room that we took was very spacious relative to central hotel rooms. Breakfast is great. Cocktail bar at the lower floor is cool. Staff is so nice, welcoming and helpful, no matter who you encounter and where. Highly recommend.

Because of the unique construction of the shower door, you need to be extra careful with the water flow or its hard to contain. Sound isolation could be better, You hear people outside the door or walking the stairs, but it doesn't happen that often and it's not something we would not return because of. No real closet, just a few hangers, but again we managed well and it was a good sacrifice for the vibe and style of the room.
