Good location. Some staffs were nice and some were ok. Lots of common area to hang out. Good atmosphere.

Noisy at night, you can hear the bar music upstairs. The beds weren’t great, if the person on the upper/lower bed of your bed moves, they would wake you up with the movement and the noise.

Rooftop area is lovely to relax in the evening. They do great promotions for drinks! 24/7 reception - felt very safe.

Spooky cowork basement space Showers were TINY and generally a bit grubby. Floors/beds were REALLY creaky and loud so anybody walking around it makes quite a bit of noise

Facilities were quite good and usually the place was clean. The dorm was spacious enough to move around and have luggage, with good size lockers. The showers had hot water and the staff were helpful.

Though the location is quite central and close to shops and restaurants, it is also a dodgy area during the night and even day. Also, it seems many locals tend to gather there to protest and therefore the street can get blocked by them or the police, and the gas sprayed by the police can even reach the windows of the dorm on the second floor. I didn’t feel safe to walk around there because of that. Lastly, there atmosphere in the hostel was not socialising, and most people kept to themselves.

As described, private room was big and bed very comfortable. Wifi perfectly good, tv had netflix/apple tv etc to login. Kitchen had basic utensils, air fryer oven and microwave. Free tea. Didnt stay for the breakfast. Theres a social room with pool table and tv, plus a rooftop although I didnt use either. Felt quite empty during my 1 night stay, saw a couple of people in the kitchen. Location was excellent. Close to all the main tourist points, easy walk to the govermental buildings etc as well as Cerro San Cristobal. Short walk to nice bars and restaurants, plus mini market a few doors down. Only issue, room faced a busy road, noisy all night long, I had earplugs so was manageable to sleep. Shower was hot (eventually) but smelled a bit. Bit pricey overall.

Hostel Boutique Merced 88 is a well-maintained older home located on a pleasant and safe neighborhood near the center of Santiago. It is very near a subway station which easily enables you to get to any area of Santiago serviced or connected to the red line. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the place is kept very clean. A decent cold breakfast is offered for a reasonable price, 3000 CLP. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are modern. Water pressure of faucets and showers are very good.

No air conditioning in my room. Fortunately, the day was not too hot and the room cooled down overnight.

Spacious room, nice location beside park

The room was beside noisy road & needed curtains on the glass door. Real coffee at breakfast would be appreciated, this is a capital city! Staff had no idea about public transport options to station. Dog in kitchen I don't like.

Stayed here three times while we made different trips from Santiago. The hostel is nice, with a good kitchen, clean bathrooms, hot showers and comfy beds. Location is good too. They let us store our bags here while we went to Easter Island as long as we had a reservation with them when we came back. Staff are friendly.

Can be a bit noisy. Sofas outside bedrooms means people talking outside your room in middle of night, doors slamming shut, creaky floorboards. Groups of school kids running around screaming at 1am. No staff member ensuring quiet at night. We had to use the fan in the room to cover the noise even though it wasn't hot enough for a fan!
