Gorgeous place, very clean, and staff was amazing! We had quite a few excursions planned and ended up canceling some to spend more time at the resort. Very relaxing and beautiful natural surroundings, and SO many hot springs around the property. A short bus ride (5 minutes) provided (free) by the resort goes to Club Rio, which has a lot of activities (and even more hot springs!) to do like horseback riding, ATVs, river tubing, etc. Our rooms were in a building a short walk over a bridge away from the main building so that it’s more quiet (and if you don’t want to walk, they will give you a golf cart ride whenever you need it - we ended up seeing a sloth on that bridge! One of my favorite memories!) We came here to celebrate a milestone birthday and it was truly unforgettable.

The location was not very easy to get to - we came in from Liberia airport and rented a car and it took us about 3.5 hours to get to the resort with traffic (very winding & steel roads) - but that’s not really anything to do with the resort itself - just something to be aware of when traveling. The food and drinks were exceptional, but also fairly expensive (especially if you plan on having their amazing drinks with every meal!).

This was our first stop on Costa Rica. Because the staff go out of their way to make sure you are well informed and your needs are met, it was a very enjoyable place to stay. Aside from some confusion about dinner reservations/menus, all activities and amenities were as advertised, well run, and on time. Property is cleaned constantly, rooms serviced twice per day. We ate at three of the restaurants and everything was very good. Even though it was very busy, the hotel didn’t seem crowded because it is spread out. We could enjoy a hot spring by ourselves, shoot pool, use the gym, etc. without waiting. I would definitely go back.

No complaints

Absolutely gorgeous resort. We have two teens and the room was very spacious and had a nice pullout couch and we got an additional bed. Very nice walk-out balcony with great views. They have free self-serve laundry which was a nice benefit when many activities in the area are water-related. Lots of restaurant choices and you can order from all the restaurants in one location your food just doesn't all come out together. Nice plus when you have picky kids that can't agree on where to eat.

The room was spectacular but the bed was not very comfortable and dipped to the middle. The breakfast buffet was on the expensive side but was very good. Also didn't like that during the day the resort was more crowded with extra people they allow to pay a day entry fee.

Beautiful, large property with a panoramic view of the volcano and the surrounding valley. The facilities were all world class quality, as is the staff. Rooms have nice high ceilings, large balcony and comfortable beds. The pools and hot springs are scattered throughout the resort which gives lots of places to explore. Especially beautiful at night! And make sure to try the water slide! We all loved Club Rio. We enjoyed seeing the Costa Rican animals at the animal sanctuary and the river tubing was a lot of fun! Great experience for our 8 year old! The kids loved the kid’s room with all the bean bag chairs, video games, toys, foozeball, ping pong, and fresh popcorn.

The food is good, but average. The best restaurant is the Ginger Sushi and also breakfast at the main restaurant has an amazing view. The fine dining at Las Ventanas was nothing spectacular yet expensive.

The Springs Resort and Spa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff is exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. The rooms are luxurious and spacious, offering the perfect environment for relaxation. The activities available on the property cater to children of all ages, and the playground equipment is new and of excellent quality. The pools and hot springs are simply stunning, providing a truly unforgettable experience.

almost everything! the beauty, the great amenities, the wonderful service and the ease of convenience

I didn’t like that there was no where to grab just a quick, casual meal on the go. maybe a place where you could get coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, etc. there’s lots to do in Arenal and we were constantly on the go with some early mornings. We are a family of 5 and needed something between the $100 breakfast buffet and the granola bars at the gift shop.

Beautiful property. The view of Arenal is unbeatable. Very well manicured. The hot springs at the Rio Club are amazing. Nice activities for the kids: including mini golf, game room, game tables, pool, pin pong, etc We had a room with two queen beds. The rooms was spacious but I felt like they needed a better interior layout design ( no real living space for the size of the room). The balcony was great with a nice view of the volcano. Everything was very clean. The staff was very kind and friendly.

It felt at times artificial and not authentic. The food at the restaurants was disappointing, especially the sushi restaurant. Breakfast was good. It felt like everything was an extra charge. For the amount you pay for the rooms, it would have been nice to have more gratuites. The inside shop was really overpriced.

This property was completely amazing, excellent location, quiet but busy at the same time with lots to do. Club was amazing. But what about this property compared to any other property is extremely lovely, happy, cheerful staff who truly seemed happy to be there. They made us stay very welcoming and comfortable. We have not seen Customer Service of this level in a long time. Special shout out to Mr joe Garo. He made the stay very memorable for our kids. !

The size of the rooms was wonderful with gorgeous outdoor patios overlooking the volcano. The bathrooms had double basins and lots of counter space The shower was nice and big and there was a separate bathtub that we didn't use given the numerous outdoor thermal pools. We had 2 separate rooms for 3 nights and then had a family suite for one night. Family suite could sleep 6 with 2 bathrooms. We only had 4 adults but it was a great option to be in one room for that last night.

More places on property to have lunch and/or a snack type of place that was better than a gift shop but not as formal as a restaurant, like a poolside snack bar. The property is enormous with lots of steps to climb in the main building. We are very able bodied but I could see this being problematic for some guests or just time consuming to get from one place to another.

Everything was gorgeous, well maintained, ample privacy, and extremely friendly and accommodating resort staff. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. It’s expensive, make no mistake about it, however, this resort caters to a certain clientele and in my opinion it is worth it.

The beds could have been a little more comfortable and the pillows a little less stiff. However, I understand this is all user preference.
