The hotel itself is beautiful and the courtyards are well maintained. The room is very pleasant, with nice decor and furniture.

I've stayed here twice, and the long walk from reception to room (including up and down stairs) can be tiring at the end of a day of sightseeing. The downside for me are the reception staff, who don't come across as very friendly and weren't helpful when asked if I could secure a room closer to reception for my 87 year old mother who I'm bringing next month. I cancelled the booking I had here and booked a more helpful and equally beautiful hotel nearby as a result.

We stayed just 2 nights in hotel no breakfast! Room was on ground floor ( maybe a little bit dark ) booked double room but we had 2 single beds not a big deal !Massive surprise came when hotel asked £500 deposit for 2 nights on credit card to hold -( that was first time on my many years travel experience when on terms and conditions on booking even didn’t say anything) luckily we got credit card with us

It's a lovely, quirky, unique hotel.... a lot of old houses, brought together and converted tastefully.... more like a village. Our room had everything we could need, and was very clean and quiet.

The pool is nice, but not very big. Sadly too, while we were there, it seemed to get dominated by Brits who have had too much lager.... there was an unpleasant screaming match between a couple of inebriated Essex girls at one point... not the hotel's fault, though it would be better if they actually enforced their rule against taking picnics up there.

A unique hotel experience, its like being part of a hidden, very beautiful village. The building has been kept characterful with all modernisation done carefully and in keeping with its history. I just love turning every corner and discovering yet another hidden gem! The location is second to none, in the absolute heart of old Seville and minutes from some cracking bars and restaurants. An absolute cracker!!

For such a great hotel it has some strange limitations. Even getting a coffee in the hotel is a challenge, which is a crying shame as there are so many places to sit in courtyards or patios where you could relax with a book or whatever! When I asked about getting a coffee one morning in the reception area, the staff suggested I pay 16.50 Euro for breakfast or go out and get one! For the most part staff are there to check you in and check you out, not to enhance your stay. They're not rude, just redundant. Saying that, the cleaning staff do a great job. All very efficient, but missing something when it comes to going the extra mile.

Absolutely stunning, unique hotel full of beautiful courtyards and secret tunnels. We were still finding new places we hadn't been on the last day of our trip. The rooms are individualistic, historical but very comfortable, even the economy rooms. The piano bar is a must, with luxurious rooms providing a nice quiet place to relax after the noise of the local bars. The pool area was great on a hot day with plenty of shade blinds but beware the pool is not heated and it takes a while to get used to the cold, yet refreshing water.

Most of the staff were amazing, really polite and helpful but one or two could be unhelpful and appeared, at best, apathetic and at worst, rude.

Location, location, location. This is truly one special hotel that is made up of numerous buildings, all inter-connected by a labyrinth-like floor plan in the basement. We felt like detectives finding our way back to our room every time we returned to the hotel. We laughed every time—the “underground map” we received upon check-in was not much help. Which kind of added to the charm of the whole experience. By our second full day at the hotel, we were pros at finding our way back to our room.

Our initial room was small and dark (not much sunlight), so we inquired about changing rooms, and ended up with a larger, light-filled room.

The hotel was delightfully different from any other hotel I have visited. The staff were polite and professional but not welcoming or friendly. The porters were friendly and polite. The lights were strange in the bathroom and didn’t seem to be working in the day. On arrival our room bar fridge was broken however it was replaced with a new one later that evening. I would rate this hotel 4 stars

I think front of house could be more welcoming and friendly 5 nights at £700 is alot of money and I expect a greeting when I come in or out of the hotel

Location was perfect right in the heart of the busy old Santa Cruz area of Seville with varied short walks through many narrow cobbled stone streets & tight paths opening out onto atmospheric courtyards & plazas usually filled with heavily laden orange & lemon trees down into the centre, dominated by the huge historic Cathedral y Giralda and many more architecturally impressive & colourful buildings, free or cheap to visit and enter in most instances...Reales Alcazar Palace & Gardens a must, simply stunning (perhaps not the easiest place to gain entry though...you will need proof of I.D.). We enjoy walking and exploring ourselves but the open top double decker sight-seeing buses are worth travelling on to get an initial overview and orientation of all the main districts together with a brief audio history before deciding where you want to allocate your time for more in-depth discovery. Our hotel was a mini reflection of the surrounding area, colourfully painted buildings, open planted suntrap courtyards fed by a warren of tight stone and terracotta paths, walkways & mysterious tunnels of discovery, loved it. A large cave-like spa facility is available under the hotel whilst above great views across the city and sun-lounging on the extensive roof top terraces with a swimming pool too. Our 1st floor apartment was well appointed, big comfortable bed with a large fully tiled stone bathroom, large vanity his & hers washbasins, large shower enclosure, jacuzzi bath, toilet & bidet, maintained and cleaned daily. We kept it to 'room only' always preferring to find & eat breakfast, lunch & dinner out; Seville has a lifetimes worth of cafes, bars and restaurants to experience.

Be prepared to walk into cafes and bars to request use of their toilet facilities if, like us, you drink too much coffee, and constantly get caught short!...Seville has few public 'servicios' facilities.

Centrally located within walking distance to many attractions. Staff very accommodating. As others have stated it is like a maze of halls and atriums etc… to get to your room. We found this to be quite amusing and fun. Also they have a great 2nd floor piano bar in the evenings. Decor is mosaic tiles and old artifacts. The multiple atriums had beautiful wisteria and other blooming vines n flowers.

Only issue is due to lower room location… 15th century building n atriums… be prepared for an occasional palmetto bug (half dead as they obviously spray). We were on lower level n also had a moth problem (small little annoying ones). These were why rated 9 and not 10. I could handle it for 3 days but if we were staying longer would have asked to change to an upper level room. The rooms and halls were very clean!

Exceptional hotel composed of a large number of beautifully restored historical houses and palaces in the oldest part of Seville. Just staying at the hotel means you get to visit an important part of the city! Our twin 'basic double room' was very pretty and comfortable; had a relatively large bathroom with a separate toilet, bath and a walk-in shower. The pool has breathtaking views over the city rooftops and is lovely to spend hot afternoons in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, trying instead various bars around the city centre for churros and other lovely breakfast food.

Not a negative as such - but given the unique nature of the hotel (conglomeration of many originally medieval houses and patios joined together by passage ways and even a tunnel), it would probably not be ideal for someone with mobility issues. Although there are some lifts and ground floor rooms available.
