The bed and pillows were just right for us. We had a very comfortable night's sleep. The desk staff were very helpful and polite. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast afforded a lot of options even if the overall quality of the food wasn't great.

Quality of the food at breakfast could have been higher but there was plenty to choose from. We stayed there while it was half term and there were events in the city so, while the cost of the room was to bee expected (£177 for an overnight stay on a Saturday), the overall stay was perhaps not quite worth that amount.

The location to the center of York was excellent, and also restaurants were very close by if you are walking. Their were lifts in the hotel to all designated floors, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Regarding the breakfast times, it was advised by the hotel that if you required a more relaxing breakfast experience, you had to be in the very tightly seated dining area before 8.00 am . Regarding the choice of breakfast items, their were no mushrooms or fried eggs on offer, but otherwise everything else was fine

The Only sole issue during our stay, was what I consider was the Limited Breakfast choice. My wife and I always include Breakfast in our frequent nights away, however Yorks Hampton by Hilton was disappointingly limiting, something we have not experienced at rival hotel groups. No choice of Boiled, Poached or Fried Eggs. No Black Pudding, Mushrooms or Fried Bread. Really spoilt what I would have preffered to report back as Perfect.

Good location for the city centre. Comfortable room.

The breakfast was poor compared to other places we stay, that are not as expensive. The sausage are not top quality, i.e value type sausage. They had no egg option, it was scrambled egg only. The cleaning staff were quite ignorant; both mornings there were several outside the lift talking loudly9 in a foreign langauge infront of customers, which I find disrespectful, but most annoying were them using the lift before us, we were not the only ones to comment 'what happened to customers first'. No where to properly hang towels, just kn tiny button hook,vso two bath towels hung there would still be damp later in the day. We had to ask for decaf coffee, standard to offer both in most hotel rooms.

Room was good, big and comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from. Location was good for trains and bus service but a little further for city centre and all the tourist amenities. York has a variety of things to see and do. I would recommend this hotel, tried and tested, its good.

the air-con in our room was difficult to control, way too warm, difficult to sleep, no fresh air. But thats the was hotels are these days, unable to open a window. We asked staff to come and look at it, she did immediately, it was ok for a while but temperature increased again, the second time we asked, it was sorted and stayed a bit cooler.

Clean, spacious hotel with friendly and helpful staff in all areas. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well equipped. There are two quietly efficient lifts so staying on the fifth floor was not a problem. A generous hot breakfast is included and provided in a clean, light and airy room off reception, with fruit drinks, pastries, cereals, yogurt etc, as well as teas and coffee. The breakfast staff are very efficient and work discreetly and effectively ensuring tables are cleared, cleaned and ready for the next hungry guest. The hotel is a very short walk from the city wall, York railway station, the river Ouse and is a great base from which to explore the city.

One downside of staying in York is the cost of parking. There is no car park on the hotel premises but the hotel subsidises parking costs at the NCP car park 160 yards away in Tanner Row. The car park has a small lift.

The hotel was in an excellent location for access to & from the railway station while still being only a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre & lots of main tourist areas.. The staff were super helpful & friendly, rooms were stylish, very comfy & clean with all facilities supplied. Beds were very comfy, meaning a great night's sleep. Bedside lamp was in exactly the right position, with the ideal light for reading without continually having to adjust angle. Breakfast was amazing with extensive choices available. Always plentiful & hot & the waffle maker just added that little bit more. Plenty seating areas in reception & bar too so you didn't feel confined to your room if you felt like going out later or coming back earlier.

There was nothing we disliked.

Location was very close to train station got taxi there which cost around 7 quid but walked back and I 100 percent could have walked there but Google maps got confusing it but it is so close to the trainstation Quicker to walk. The breakfast was okay had enough there for everyone of diffrent tastes cold or hot breakfasts.staff very friendly happy to help

Would have been good to buy more food there. Snack counter was very limited. And the odd bit of hot food choice wasn't great either. Would have been great if there was a microwave we could use. I had a baby with me and she's a bit fussy

The breakfast experience wasn’t great. No where to sit and food options not replenished. Possibly the most disorganised buffet I’ve experienced. So much so we didn’t go to breakfast in the 2nd morning.

Room was well proportioned and slightly bigger than I expected. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was spot on with lots of choice and room for people to sit. Reception was bright and all staff we encountered were friendly and well informed. I mentioned on my booking that it was my birthday on check-in and was surprised with a card and a chocolate bar!

I personally prefer a firmer pillow than the feather ones provided, but this was not an issue. The sliding door for the bathroom/wardrobe was an interesting feature and was slightly stiff to use but was no real bother. The parking is off-site (NCP Tanner Row) but was validated in the hotel at a cheaper rate than advertised.
