The breakfast was awesome! Everything was freshly made. Many choices and they changed the menu a little bit everyday. In the breakfast buffet, you can order customized omelets for free but needs to pay for the customized pancake. Everyone here is very nice.

Wifi sometimes was slow. The pool is outdoor on the 14th floor. And it was under maintains for the whole time we stayed there so we did not get a chance to use it. The water pressure for the room is low. The shower water was not very warm on the first day but later days was ok.

Very professional and courteous staff. The decor and ambiance was 2nd to none. Car keys were misplaced but was found and pleasantly retreaved by entrance staff. Excellent! Bathroom so modern. Wonderful view!!! Even tv channels with some English was a plus! The restaurant buffet was sublime. Upscale, but casual mood. (Not an easy duo to accomplish and pull off.) Staff very professional, friendly, and accommodating. Maid staff, a very good job done there. Their work adds to the overall operation of a smooth functioning service business and should get due credit. Excellent stay, will recommend, and pass the word.

What I didn't like was I did not use the pool. (That was my fault) Pictures looked so inviting too. Next time, I will be sure to use the pool! And there will certainly be a next time!

We loved the view, the king bed was comfortable, bathroom fixtures looked new, and toiletries such as shampoos, conditioners, body lotion, bodywash are in huge bottles and are high quality ( Brand name is Zero).The fact that there were 2 separate full bathrooms made us extremely happy. (We had the king bedroom with pull-out sofa bed.) The location is great too, so for those who want to eat out, there is Juan Valdez Cafe, next to the entrance, Smash burger and right opposite, a McDonald's, a Japanese restaurant, Quiznos, an Argentinian restaurant, (2 mins walk) and others. Going to the central market by Uber, approximately 4-5 USD and around 7‐9 USD by Taxi (metered) dependent on traffic.They do accept USD. Taxi drivers might not have change to give you back for your USD. Special shout-outs to the staffs Michael and Oscar during breakfast, who took great care of us. The Buffet Breakfast was good, and they had different menu items daily, unlike some hotels, where they give you the same breakfast day after day. The young man at the reception John was awesome and was extremely polite and was so prompt to take care of our requests on the spot, truly a man of action. These 3 mentioned staff members made a good impression on us. As for the cleanliness of the room and property, it was immaculate. I'm glad to have chosen this hotel and will go back again

The pull-out sofa bed was a big disappointment. When you pull out the sofa bed and try to lie or sleep on it, it sinks in further and further. Very uncomfortable and unusable to sleep. Although just utilizing to sit on it as a sofa is fine. Maybe it's time to replace the pull-out sofa bed.

We really liked our spacious and comfortable room with wonderful views to the mountains. The surrounding area is mixed but the nearby Peru Square has a super restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner and there is an excellent store with fresh fruit just across the road from the hotel. Arrival and check-in were managed very politely with friendly staff and straightforward procedures. There's a gym and pool, we didn't use either but would have liked to. Downtown was a ten dollar taxi ride, this should perhaps have been much less, we paid 12 dollars or so for an Uber to the airport. The AVIS pick up desk is a walk away

Two things: music in the corridors was not turned off at night, I'm a fussy sleeper. The air conditionning control was very difficult to work out so we turned it off and were then too hot

Location is good, next to La Sabana, friendly staff, good breakfast, parking was underground which its a relief for those who have a rented car, and it’s really safe.

The hotel in city mall is way nicer, we expected the same quality and it wasn’t like that, the place looks old and tiny, first day was cramped, breakfast area is really small, pool was closed without notice so we couldn’t use it, and the restaurant prices are way higher so we didn’t eat there.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning and end of our Costa Rica trip, and both nights were great. It's a very professionally run hotel, and the staff are all amazing. Everything was clean and fresh, the food was actually very good, and the facilities like the pool, gym, etc. are perfect for a short stay.

The second breakfast we had wasn't quite as complete as the first, but I'm nit-picking, this place was great.

The pool area is great and enjoyable, the same as the gym. Great breakfast included! Nice views of the city.

There was a non-pleasant interaction with one of the staff members who denied us entering the bar area since it was exclusively reserved for the New Year party, despite we had a welcome drink voucher given by reception and we were very early - there was almost no one from the NY party. It was not about the actual denial but rather the WAY it was communicated to us - not pleasant, for a customer who paid a decent amount of money to enjoy the facilities. Also, the reception could prevent this by notifying us in advance and/or offering to make a reservation for the NY party.

The staff was courteous, English proficient, and knowledgeable (especially John at reception); the price was good; security was outstanding; the room was excellent with a comfortable bed, bathroom, clothes closet, and coffee maker; and the location was very good given our needs. Also, the gym was well appointed and the bar small but well stocked.

The 14th floor outdoor pool was small and exposed to high winds. While generous, the breakfast offerings (e.g., eggs, pancakes) were often cold.

The "Hilton La Sabana" has a name really close to "Hilton (garden inn) La Sabana". I kept calling the Hilton La Sabana and they had "no reservation" for me. I even showed up there, one block away, and was pretty embarassed to find that it was not the right hotel. I called 2 or 3 times to see if my reservation, through booking.com, was there and they kept saying no. It was very confusing and I would recommend a name change for the Garden Inn.

Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Overall, good experience for when in San José.

Nothing really, although I thought that the price we paid was a bit high for the overall experience, but still acceptable.
