Perfect location, nice 10 minute walk to Paddington. Front of house staff were easy going and polite, they helped with luggage and were happy to help with any questions we had. Was a quiet location, but very accessible. Rooms were ok, beds were comfy. Only thing I’d say is the facilities are very basic (towels, toilet paper, little sachet of shampoo) no ac, or fan which you’d have expected a little fan at least but no. Apart from that it was good, you can’t moan for the price. I’d definitely go back for a short trip if I visiting.

The location, its a few hundreds of meters from paddington station. We had to change our room and the receptionist was kind.

First we got a room in the basement which was bigger then the room that we changed later due to a massive smell of mold, as asmatic i couldnt even enter to the room. The second room we got was really small, so skinny bathroom, we could barely move. The bed was too old&used full with wholes in the mattress, was visible. Days before our arrival i asked if we can leave the luggages at the reception free of charge before check in, but when we arrived i had told either i pay 15£ for luggage service or pay 20£ early check in fee that i find it ridiculous.

READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AS WELL!!! WE DID NOT! The staff was very nice, had a noisi neighbour and they took care of it. The location was so great, just above Hyde park and a short walk from Paddington station. Places for dinner near by. Perfect place if you are planning your days to be spent exploring and only coming to the hotel to sleep.

Do not let the photos fool you. The rooms are much smaller than they appear on the pictures and more outdated as well. We would have still chosen this place because of the price and the location. It is ok to have a little hotel not as much up to date, and people would still come due to the convenience. Old building with paper walls, DO HAVE EARPLUGS. I still say for the location and price this place is OK, just be clear with what to expect. Bathrooms are miniature, but again, does the job. If you are down to London to explore, this place is just fine. We've been out all day and only came here to sleep. Not appropriate for romatic getaways. It is more like for backpackers.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Craven. It is an excellent value-for-money option in central London. It's incredibly cheap, and therefore I was shocked by how unrealistic some of the other reviewers are. The rooms are small, but they're perfectly clean and comfortable and they're equipped with hairdryers and kettles. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again. Ignore those negative reviews - people expect Ritz facilities for pennies.

I've used this hotel a few times now and think that it's a superb, very low cost option for a solo traveller, or maybe a couple on a short stay. This time, my room was just £54 per night. No one can complain about that. You might want a bigger room, better facilities etc. but you'd have to pay much more for it. Great location, just a few minutes walk from Paddington tube or Network Rail. Several good restaurants and pubs and shops nearby. I'll definitely stay here again. I've stayed in hotels that were only marginally better but were more than twice the cost.

No downsides for this money!

Location was central to attractions, public transport links were very good, reception staff were very helpful, room was on the small size for a double but as we were out and about it wasn't a problem

We ask if someone could tune our television in, but no one came to do it, quite disappointing, another request was sorted, only other thing very was didn't feel comfortable using the shower as you can see neighbouring windows, and they can obviously see right into the bathroom which only had a net up

The room was exactly as expected, I'm not sure having read other reviews why the hotel has such a low rating. Yes it could do with a lick of paint and some modernisation, but that's about asthetics. The room was clean and exactly as it should be. I think some comments about cleanliness are confusing wear and tear with uncleanliness.

The TV wasn't connected... Don't advertise a TV if it doesn't work. But you don't stay at a hotel to watch tv, it's nice to have in the evening. Not a deal breaker.

For the price that the property offers, nothing more than fair, the room is really small, but not too small to be uncomfortable, the room was clean, and very clean by the way, it doesn't look scary like the comments here should have Shame on choosing something cheap and still complaining, injustice! Reception service was attentive. Very good for the value, thank you

Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Heads up the photos of the rooms look nothing like what you get lol but for the price you pay its a comfy room small but when all you need is a bed and a private bathroom it's wel worth it.

The room itself could have used some work dents in walls and a few stains on the walls too but and I couldn't figure out the shower temp so either boiling or freezing which was fun.
