La Maison du Lierre was the 2nd place we stayed at in Biarritz. We took a week honeymooning after our wedding and our plan was to visit Biarritz and then San Sebastian. But when we got to SS, we realised that it is not what we were looking for our short relaxing holiday. Beautiful city but too crowded and big, so we came back to Biarritz and chose La Maison. Because we can compare it to our other stay, I could say it wasn’t as stylish as it looks in the pictures. The public spaces (and the house) is charming but the rooms are so and so. They have changed the old wooden floors you can admire in the public spaces and it looks quite bad. However, if you’re bot into interior design or old houses, it’s just a detail. Rooms are spacious, though. They have really good prices, quite fair. A good selection for breakfast and you can serve it outdoors, in the beautiful front garden. Really really good massage — we totally recommend it and we are massage enthusiasts with some experience :) Close to everything, especially shops and bars. I recommend L’entre Deux restaurant which is just 5 minutes by foot and served delicious food. All in all, we recommend it!

Just the floors in the rooms — a minor detail. They just don’t fit in such a beautiful building. And maybe the fact they don’t give you beach towels so you have to buy or bring your own.

Everything was good - I did think originally that breakfast was a little expensive, but maybe not so given Biarritz prices generally, and we had the convenience of having breakfast there and then, rather than going out to find something on our way. Room very pleasant with a good view, everything was clean. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

Small issue with hot drinks in the room - not enough coffee pods for the machine, they seemed to be tightly rationed, as was the milk, which was very hefty UHT when we obtained it! Mosquitoes - absolutely lethal on me - 30 bites, including some the following night after applying repellent. My friend didn't get any bites - well, one small one on her face. The can of insect killer was the clue - do not chance leaving window open for air!

Beautiful, modern and appeared to be recently refurbished. Right in the centre of Biarritz, less than 10 mins walk from the beach or the shops or bars. Nice little courtyard garden at the entrance and a small outdoor terrace from the breakfast room. The breakfast was limited (if you want cooked full English it isn't for you) but it was very high quality. Freshly squeezed oranges, local cheese, delicious cake, yoghurt, muesli, salmon, fresh boiled eggs, baguette, croissants toast etc. plus tea and freshly ground coffee machine. Easy, cheap and frequent bus from hotel (2 mins walk) to airport. Extremely good value hotel that is clean and welcoming.

The view from the room was not great (a blank wall) but if this is important you can pay extra for upgrades. We were happy that we had fantastic value for money in a clean, modern room with a spotless and beautifully refurbished modern bathroom.

Super cosy hotel, with super nice staff! It was very quiet at nights, breakfast is made of local bio products, there is an elevator for your luggage. The location is super close to everything, but it’s in the quiet street, so you don’t hear any noise. I highly recommend this hotel for your vacation.

I would recommend to add a chest of drawers for clothes, as it was not enough place for keeping my clothes.

The staff in this hotel were super friendly. I had made a mistake with the booking and they went our of their way to facilitate me to solve the problem. We stayed in a deluxe room and it had a view of the sea. The beds were comfortable and the location of the hotel was very central. Breakfast was nice and the staff provided me with gluten free toast. They also have a lovely garden just outside the hotel

Our bedroom was well furnished, small which is probably quite normal but the main issue was with the light which was streaming into the room from the light house all night. I would suggest that a blind is fitted to this window. Also would it be possible to keep one of the rooms downstairs open after the staff have gone home so that people have somewhere to sit.

This property is exceptional in every way, from the incredible staff who are so efficient, attentive and offer exemplary customer service to the quality of the room which was comfortable, large and great value for money. Loved the decor, cleanliness,outside garden area and peaceful ambience.

Nothing could have been better, honestly one of the best, places we have stayed and we travel regularly to Europe, Asia and Australia.

Beautiful period building, tastefully decorated. Handy location 200m from the market, restaurants, and bars. Friendly & helpful staff. Hotel very clean throughout. The room is comfortable and equipped with robes, slippers, tea & coffee facilities. Water and towels are replaced throughout the stay. Lovely garden/courtyard area for drinks and food. Would recommend this hotel in Biarritz!

Absolutely loved this small boutique hotel. Full of character, lovely understated decor, excellent quiet but central location, welcoming and attentive staff. A perfect chic hideaway from which to enjoy lovely Biarritz ! I will certainly be staying here again in future.

Only reason I didn't give it 10/10 was that it would benefit from a slightly upgraded breakfast offer.

The general ambience of the hotel was very nice. Relaxed. Friendly staff. Full of character. We had a terrace as we wanted an outside space and was glad as the rooms are a little small. Breakfast was plentiful.

Ideal for a short break or a week. Nothing stood out as poor or bad. Overall very very good.

Wonderful breakfast with great choices. The location was perfect: les Halles with lots of restaurants was just behind the hotel, there was an interesting church also round the corner, and it was a short walk to any part of the beach promenade. The bus stop for the airport was just a short walk across the nearby park. There was a mini-supermarket also in the Halles area.
