Opulent, incredible, lavish, amazing. Most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Incredible mountain views combined with amazing staff and a perfectly designed and maintained hotel. Indoor and heated outdoor pools were very enjoyable. Nice gym to burn off the great food. Breakfast was delicious. To order eggs and an amazing selection of everything else. Located in Obersalzberg below the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagles Nest) this incredible hotel gives you easy access to Berchtesgaden's many attractions. Easy walk to the bus boarding area for the Eagles Nest. Buy your tickets on-line in advance. Open mid-May to mid-October. Documentation Museum (History of the Nazi leadership in this area and atrocities) is located on the backside of the vehicle parking area for the Eagles Nest bus tour and is open year around. Visit the salt mine and take the fun tour and make sure you drive to the Konigssee and take the boat tour and enjoy some hiking. If you are a true adventurer you can walk to the Kehlsteinhaus from the hotel. They will give you a map. All trails so no bus conflict. Very well marked with sign posts. Said four hours but I did it in one and a half. You don't need to take the elevator to the Eagles Nest at the bus turn around area. Walk down the road 200-300 meters and a trail takes you to the top.

Breakfast was excellent with everything you could wish for. The pool area was very peaceful and relaxing, and the views are incredible.

Wonderful hotel - beautifully designed and placed amongst the mountains and the slopes. 5 minute drive to Berchtesgaden town. The room was very clean, comfortable, with a lovely view. Perfect for a relaxing, slow-paced, stree-free holiday. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with staff attentive to the guests at all times. Staff at the hotel are lovely, warm and welcoming. Went for the skiing - rental available on site and direct transportation provided by the hotel. I'd like to extend my gratitude to Kevin, who was very helpful and hospitable. All in all, absolutely great. Recommended a hundred times over.

The high standard of rooms, service, food and overall impression was absolutely unique! Kempinski meets the absolute highest standard within hotels. It is absolutely top class! The food is absolutely delectable, the staff always helpful and professional! Great spa with open pool, incredible scenery. The hotel is in an incredible location in the mountains overlooking the Eagles Nest itself. The location of the hotel on the hill itself is absolutely unreal!

The area around the hotel could be a little better managed. The grass around the hotel was quite tall, in proportion to all the luxury it doesn't give the best impression. Otherwise I have absolutely nothing to complain about!

The Kempinski is an outdoor enthusiasts, who appreciate comfort, dream. The setting is stunning! Set in a breathtaking, historically relevant setting, it’s surrounded by hiking trails and caters to those seeking luxury as well. I was blown away by the sheer yet simplistic beauty in and out of the hotel while my step daughter spoiled herself in the spa. A 5 star experience. Our dinner at 2 Michelin star Pur surpassed expectations!!

We stayed at the hotel at the end of August and simply enjoyed every moment. The weather was warm, and in the afternoon, it was pleasant to relax in the hot tubs. The service was at the highest level, the rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent and varied. The service was very friendly and pleasant! We really loved the entire experience. The hotel’s restaurants were of the highest quality. We especially appreciated Eric from the team, who was at the entrance and helped us a lot! We look forward to returning in the winter during the snowy season.

The location offers incredible views and is also near to most of the towns and sights in the region. There's a play area in the restaurant, an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom for kids to explore. The staff and facilities made our very active one year old boy feel very welcome. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety and having multiple restaurants on site was also convenient. We made good use of both the indoor and outdoor pools and the spa. The Kaminbar also has a lovely atmosphere for cocktails and food. We loved our stay so much that we stayed an extra night!

20€ per night for the parking garage seemed a bit excessive. Had a issues with our safe, but staff helped quickly. Access to the spa and pool is not easy from one of the hotel wings.

Nice location in the Bavarian alps decent size room for the basic level fridge useful good sized beds balcony with chairs excellent breakfast facilities which served till 12.00 week days or 1300 on Sundays amazing ! good spa facilities which we used Good underground parking

Taking the full amount of the total cost for 3 nights (some € 900 ) 8-9 months or so before our actual stay ie the previous year was ridiculous in the extreme. i can understand taking a deposit perfectly acceptable but the entire amount and then no cancellation or flexibility either! Very unimpressed with what the 3 restaurants menus had to offer so much so we decided to eat out Should introduce some time scales/allocations for adults ONLY sessions in the swimming pool there was only one child in the whole facility which was constantly wining loudly this made our experience short and not much fun We both suffered with the lack of air con in the room seems to me for a 5 star hotel that should not be the case we ended up with the balcony door open

Amaizing breakfast, wonderfull view and the pool is very special. The roads were clear of snow during December and we felt safe driving there. We enjoyed every moment!!! Excellent value for money.

Need to check the charges carefully. There were mistakes and wrong charges also in the restarant and in reception. 20 ero parking is not included in price.

Hotel was outstanding. Beautiful view from our room. Staff so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was incredible.

I'm struggling to find anything. Staff could have told us there was free public transport around berchtesgaden when you ask them for a guest card. This allows you travel on local buses free. In fairness most guests had their own cars so maybe not something they think about but would have been useful for us as we had no car with us. Other than that I couldn't think of any negatives.
