Breakfast. too small space for breakfast at this hotel. Breakfast time you need to wait 20 minutes to find free table. It didn't help, that hotel offer to have breakfast earlier or later, guest want to have breakfast in their time, not hotel.

It well situation in the city in a quiet but central area with public transportation close by.

The layout of the breakfast made it ineffective, the staff tried to make up for it. There should have been areas to dispose of the plates and food once used. We had to queue for breakfast. It is not necessary to clean the room everyday. We check in and stayed in bed a few hours before heading out again for the evening. When we came back the bedsheets had been changed. This is highly unnecessary and a waste of resources. We had to put the do not disturb sign to avoid this. In Copenhagen, we stayed in a hotel where they cleaned the room only upon request. This makes much more sense, especially since both stays were 3-4 days.

The rooms were incredibly quiet during the night, not a single sound came from other rooms, hallways or outside, even though there was a road right below them. Great location, you can easily walk to the main sights. Friendly staff. Breakfast was really good with a big table of vegan options too!

Some of the beds were a bit slant, it was difficult to find a sleeping position where it didn't feel as if you were going to fall...folding part of the blanket helped a bit. We found some candy wrappers under the bed so not sure how well the room was cleaned before our arrival.

The breakfast was very rich and the rooms were spacious. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. It was very kind of them to offer candies to our daughter and asking for permisson before doing so.

Most hotels in Germany adopt an eco-friendly approach and prioritize sustainability, which is why room cleaning is done every other day unless you specifically request it. Since we were traveling with a child, we asked for our room to be cleaned early in the morning and for fresh towels to be provided. However, when we returned late at night, we found the room exactly as we had left it. We had to dry our 4-year-old daughter with wet towels. Naturally, traveling with a child results in more trash and mess. I would have preferred daily cleaning in a hotel like this. It was quite ironic that housekeeping only came to clean the room on the day we were leaving.

Hotel has perfect location - easy to get from the airport with S9 train, for navigating in Berlin you have U2 metro station just across the road and Alexanderplatz station in 5-7 minutes walking. Hotel itself is modern, well decorated, staff was very friendly and helpful. The room has proper sound insulation from the street noise, so don't be afraid to get a room with the view on the road. However, you could hear your neighbors. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was also well equipped. In case you want shopping, Alexa shopping mall is in 5 minutes walking distance.

Breakfast was surprisingly poor: you only have omelet with strange garlic/onion powder taste (why?), and there is no warm meat options to it, like bacon or sausages. On the third day you don't really enjoy it. You can still make yourself some sandwiches with ham & cheese. But pastry was good, freshly baked every morning. Also the restaurant area is quite small, so during breakfast it will be very crowded, so you have to go very early. In addition our room had weird sewer/canalization smell every time you return in the evening, I guess something has to do with ventilation. (if you run the water in the bathroom for some time then it will be gone)

Stayed at "Holiday Inn Express - Berlin - Alexanderplatz, an IHG Hotel" during a 'Father-and-Son-WKND' OCT 9-13 (2024) = rock solid, no fuzz, clean n' fresh incl a stable breakfast (from our point of view/needs). If you are going to fly-in to BERLIN and walk the town - like we did - this is Bang on Target. The hotel is very regular/basic but equipped with a little convenient (self-service) mini-shop in the htl lobby. The htl location itself = not really superSexy ;-) Think we paid some +500 EUR for 4 nights = pretty fair I would say, CHEERS!

The outside area... but you're not far away from Alexanderplatz ;-)

Very good location. The nearest subway station is just across the street. Huge shopping Alexa is only 7min walking as well Alexanderplatz (10min-15min). Also very close to the metro station where you can reach the airport. Bedroom had good size for a couple / short stay. Breakfast is not exceptional but has good vary and is tasty. In general worth for the money.

I’m usually very easy to please but honestly the bed was not very comfortable. After 3 nights the mattress seemed to be “bent/curved” and my husband and I had difficulty sleeping.

The overall location is great - only 7-10 minutes walk to Alexander Platz, which is one of the central public transport hubs in the city, as well as a lively food and bar neighbourhood. Additionally, some good clubs (like Tresor, KitKat, and MBIA) are all 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. The Museum Island, home to a few of the biggest museums in Berlin, is also just 10 minutes away. The hotel itself is clean, looked after, with very polite staff. The rooms are on the small side, but they are enough for a sleepover. Perfect place for young tourists, here to enjoy Berlin nightlife or sightseeing.

The breakfast options were limited, as it was a continental breakfast. If you do not eat sandwiches or plain scrambled eggs, then you are out of luck and will have to look for breakfast in the city. The basic rooms do not have a fridge, so making your own breakfast is not really an option either (disclaimer - the more premium rooms may have a fridge, so research must be done prior). Additionally, the parking is very limited in the hotel and you will most likely not get a spot - however, a couple of big parking blocks are nearby (I recommend the one in the nearby shopping center Alexa (<10 mins walk, €20 a day, and you get the convenience of putting your shopping in the car immediately).

The breakfast here and the service provided, were exceptional and high class. Best breakfast we had on our whole 3 week trip. The location is ideal for walking to many of the Alt Stadt destinations. A circular walking route would hit most of them easily if you were a fit walker or hiker, but there is easily accessible public transit as well.

There is very limited parking at the hotel. Not sure what we would have done if we did not get a spot. Road closures at the time made it difficult to get to even with the GPS.

Room was spacious, nicely decorated, good and comfy beds, good shoers. Breakfast was also good - all you can eat, however somewhat limited in offering. The location was also good as it is close to a metro station (the hotel is not central to tourist hotspots), so you can zoom around Berlin any way you like with the subway. The property is located in the former East Germany, close to Alexander Platz, which has its appeals. The architecture of this part of the city is appropriate for the era.

Crowds for the breakfast, it was hard to find an available table.
