The hotel was in a very convenient location with plenty of parking spaces right outside. The staff was very polite and eager to assist with everything we needed. I was particularly impressed with the meticulous cleanliness of the rooms and the outdoor areas (especially around the pool). I would highly recommend it, and I will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Crete.

The only minor issue I had, which didn't spoil my overall impression, was the lack of any housekeeping service on Sundays. I didn't expect a full towel change, but it would have been nice if they could have at least emptied the bins and tidied up the room a little.

The location was the perfect blend of city and sea/beach, set up high so there are views all around. It's right on the edge of town, so really convenient for getting buses and into town, but once you're at the property it feels secluded and quiet. It's walking distance to the Old Town and harbour, and only a few minutes' walk to a free shuttle bus that goes to the centre of town every 20 minutes. Plus, it's only 5-10 minutes' walk to a beautiful beach along a pretty boardwalk. The room and other facilities were really clean and tidy, and the two swimming pools were idyllic, with fantastic views over the sea and Chania town from the pools and terrace. The staff were friendly and attentive while allowing you to have privacy. It was also very affordable in early October when I was there. The staff booked an excursion for me and it was the best excursion I did (to Elafonisi Beach).

The kitchenette was a bit limited for me in terms of preparation space, but I think it would suit most people (I like to cook some of my meals and shop at local markets for produce, so I don't think I'm a typical hotel guest). The fridge provided plenty of space for food and drinks, though, and eating and having a coffee on the room's terrace was one of the highlights of my trip.

I think I must have been upgraded as it is the end of the season and the hotel was quite empty, but I appreciated that they seemed to have focused on putting all the guests in the central part. Travelling alone, I might have felt isolated in one of the other buildings. The view from the bar terrace is exceptional and the food was lovely. I only ate there once but the lady cooking the food was friendly and apologetic that they didn’t have everything on the menu, but understandable as it was so quiet. Very generous with portions and with free dessert. Ευχάριστο! Great location, just a 17 minute walk to the language school where I was taking lessons, and to the Nea Hora beach. Then a pleasant 10 minute walk on from there to the centre. I did also use the free P&R electric bus to get to bus station for the airport when I had luggage and that’s a great bonus for anyone not keen on walking too far (a 3-4 minute walk to car park where buses wait but they go every 20 minutes). I like to swim in the sea and there are many beaches in walking distance. The sea was rough when I was there - fun for jumping in waves but not great for actual swimming or for kids. Turn left at the sea and a path takes you all the way along the coast. Agostoli beach is around a 30 minute walk but is worth it for the sheltered bay where it was much calmer. I read in a previous review that Frida feels like a safe place for a solo traveller and I felt that too, although I did avoid using the path down to the beach in the dark.

The swimming pools seemed bigger in the pictures. Although there are two they are pretty small if you actually want to swim rather than dip.

We love this hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and the service is excellent. There are 2 pools and the main pool is a great size and next to the bar/restaurant. The food available is always delicious and they do a great happy hour. There is also a free bus into town that leaves from a few 100m away, which we used a couple of times and was really handy. They also sent back my earrings to me after I left them at the hotel by accident, which was very kind of them.

Slightly more could be added to the lunch menu. I imagine the hill up to the hotel may be difficult to get up with someone with difficulty walking but that was not an issue for us.

-air conditioning, it’s kind of general in Greece maybe because wherever we stayed got very bad air conditioning, when temperature out is 40 degrees, why having inverters that take hours to cool the room. - swimming pools were good but not clean at all, my wife and son got herpes from there, you can see water is not circulating properly in pool and not clean. Please don’t mix the cleaning in room, because staff cleaned the room really good. - breakfast was kind of average and same stuff everyday and when you stay longer you would expect things to be changed.

Tidy, small complex of apartments with 2 balconies, in a great location for old town and beaches. 2 x lovely swimming pools (unheated). Beautiful views. Walkable from bus station (30 mins approx).

In the open plan room (living/dining/kitchenette) there was a single bed, but no sofa or comfy chair. The bed obviously works if there is a 3rd person in the group.

The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The pool was very nice with the bar next to it, very convenient! There is also a bus stop very near the apartment.

Only thing we didn’t like was that the shower was a little small but overall it was a great stay!

It's situated well, out of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get yo old town and surroundings on the free service offered 2mjn walk from Frida. If you want a quiet day, perfect 2 pools to choose from. Cocktails, lunch offered out if their Cafe. Itswelll priced. .

Both pools are closing at 8 pm when it's still early and the perfect time to cool off.

The staff were absolutely amazing! They all made us feel like nothing was too much to ask. And Anna's cocktails were delicious! The facilities were beautiful and we loved the lower pool/ views over Chania. Also it was never overcrowded which was just what we were looking for. It's deffinately a secret gem! Our room was also great, it had everything we needed and the TV had Netflix to sign into! The breakfast was lovely and fresh everyday, and super tasty. The food at the bar/ restaurant was also nice for the days we wanted to stay for lunch and we hope to return in the future. There is also trips available that reception helped us book. Thank you to all the amazing staff for making our holiday so special. We would highly recommend this hotel to any couple who's looking for a romantic, peaceful holiday away from the crowds at the port.

Nothing at all! The old town was slightly further than we wanted to walk every night but the cheap taxis were perfect and reception always booked us one immediately, so it wasn't even a negative point all.

This was our second year returning back to Frida Apartments, and we were not disappointed. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool and surrounding areas are well maintained. The restaurant serves delicious food, we would eat there every lunch and dinner. We highly recommend a visit to Frida Apartments.
