The wait staff in the restaurant were welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed eating at the restaurant

The staff on the front desk were rude. I had a bit of trouble trying to pay for my room, as the payment wouldn't go through. The women on the front desk called someone to tell them the payment wouldn't go through. Her demeanour towards me changed when the payment couldn't ho through. I suggested the hotel invoice me so I can pay it. The hotel couldn't do that. In the end I had to transfer money to another card fir the payment to work. It was not my choice to pay the hotel on arrival, as this was the only hotel on my trip that I had to pay the hotel on arrival a d before I travelled. Would I stay st this hotel again, I'm not sure based on this experience

Excellent location, right in the old city of Chania. I particularly highlight the availability of car parking (a must for the ones looking to rent car while staying in the old city of Chania), the friendliness of the staff and the excellent breafast (included in the price!).

The experience of staying at Porto Veneziano was truly very pleasant and I would definitely recommend the place. The only thing I didn't particularly like is the fact that in spite of the fact I had reserved a double-bed room, what I actually got was a room with two single beds that were attached together (thus giving the impression of a double-bed), which made sleeping a bid inconvenient, in the sense that I tended to slip right in the edge where the two beds where attached to each other.

Staff at the front desk upgraded my room, and these were the last nights in Greece, the view and the location were spectacular! Loved my trip to Greece will be coming back and spending much more time in the islands.

Distance to airport.

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel in Chania. The location is perfect—right in the heart of everything, with restaurants and bars just a short walk away. There’s no need to use a car for evening outings, which made our stay even more relaxing. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but what really made our stay special was the staff. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention to Edison, who served us a delicious breakfast every morning. He went above and beyond, providing us with great tips and recommendations on the best places to visit. Overall, everything was excellent, and we would definitely return. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Crete!

The room was a bit small

First and foremost, the staff was absolutely wonderful. I felt welcome the entire time I was there. Especially the small things —replacing my empty cappuccino with a fresh one at breakfast without me having to ask— struck me as entirely kind and thoughtful. The room was clean, towels were replaced every day. The parking lot was secure and easily accessible. Obviously the location was great, too — right in the heart of the harbor. Also, do try the food. Dinner was exceptional every time! Have I mentioned how great the staff is?

Location. Included parking. If the lot were full, the front desk always offered to assist us at any time of day to juggle the cars around to make some extra space. This offer was very much appreciated although we didn't need to take them up on it. Elevator. Included nice beach towels. Included breakfast.

The included breakfast menu offered boiled and poached eggs but if you wanted other egg dishes, i.e. scrambled eggs, quiche, or omelets, these were on a separate menu (a la carte?). We would have preferred it if they were also included. The staff, overall, was extremely friendly, smiling, and helpful. But a couple at the Front Desk couldn't smile, looked annoyed when asked a question, and offered no help.

It took me a long time to pick a hotel in Chania, and I'm the kind of person who second guesses every decision I make. But this was perfect! Don't hesitate to book this hotel. It was beautifully clean, and has every facility you could want. The bathrooms were gorgeous, the beds were comfortable. I paid a little more for the sea view, and that was an awesome decision. The view of the harbor is breathtaking, and the sunsets are out of this world. We enjoyed every breakfast we had during our trip, but the breakfasts at this hotel were spectacular. It was a full-service breakfast, with anything your heart desired, and my 22-year-old son never looked happier! The wait staff were honestly the nicest, most helpful we encountered anywhere. Obviously the setting was stunning too. Sitting on the terrace, looking at the harbor lighthouse really couldn't be any better. We were there in October, but clearly this is the quieter end of the strip. We found it peaceful but right in the heart of things, an easy walk to everything in town. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us with everything. They helped us rent a car, book, a trip, and managed to find us a room for an extra night which saved us a lot of hassle. They were just so helpful. If I were to take off half a star it would be because the room was tiny. It didn't matter to us at all, but if you need space, you might want a different room. On the last night we didn't have the sea view, which was fine, but my advice is to get a sea view! Stay here!

Port Front room I believe 3rd floor or higher. 3 weeks through Crete can’t remember. Once you close your balcony doors sound proof to happenings on walk. Beautiful 5 nights. 2 on my own, 3 with a group of fiber artists. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Love the location. Perfectly located without being in the thick of tourists. Loved to sit on boardwalk and have a cocktail. Breakfast buffet was amazing. My first trip to Greece and your hotel was the first meeting of the wonderfully warm and delightful Greek people. Loved it!

Nothing. If you could have influenced the heat wave to move on that would have been awesome. But you get what you get and you can’t control it!

Location, location, location. Right on the Venetian Harbour but at the quieter end. Paid upgrade for harbour view room and it was well worth it. Incredible views across harbour, out to sea and of the lighthouse. Fabulous breakfast with wide choice of cooked/continental provided. Served on the harbour side terrace. Has a lovely courtyard to the rear for cooler/windy evenings. Restaurant has a great choice at very reasonable prices and again served harbour side . Room reasonable size and very comfortable. Staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful.

I would say this hotel is in the best part of Chania. On the harbor but not in the busiest section. I would only go back to this hotel if visiting again. The only thing I would change is getting the suite instead of a normal room. Being from the US I am not custom to that small of a room. It did its job and gave us an amazing view, the breakfast is 5 stars, location cannot be beat! We stayed in 3 hotels during our visit to Chania and this is was our favorite hands down.

Room size was very small but we know to get a suite next time
