We loved our stay at riviera, and we were so tempted to cancel our plans to stay in other areas of the island so we could spend more time there. We were glad to visit the other areas in the end but no other hotel compared to riviera! The breakfast that Elena made for us each morning was so lovely and plentiful, Elia was a perfect host with helpful suggestions and answers. We looked forward to seeing her each day. The room really was all we had hoped full of gorgeous windows and light. The views were the best part and room felt brand new each time we came home.

Honestly I wouldn’t change a thing. As others have shared there are several flights of stairs to our room. That’s how you get lovely views. I enjoyed the extra exercise but it’s good to be aware of.

Everything about our stay here from start to finish was fantastic. It was my husbands birthday and we were surprised with wine and cake in our room on arrival. The staff couldn’t have been any nicer and looked after us. We were leaving early on the morning to fly and they made us up a breakfast box. Elia on reception is amazing, so kind and friendly and gave us so many recommendations of restaurants and bars. You couldn’t get a better location to walk to everything and the views and sunsets from the room were amazing. We are already planning a return visit as soon as we can :-)

I was extremely impressed with Riviera Suites. Elia is wonderful. On my first night, she gave me some fantastic restaurant recommendations that I have even shared with my friends. The room is super clean. Although in a busy area, the sound-proofing is very good and it is great to be in a lovely location for sight-seeing with great restaurants, easy to get to the lighthouse etc. The breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much to ask for the lady (dont know her name) who served me each morning. I am looking to go back to Chania in the spring and I am considering going back to Riviera Suites.

A tad on the pricier side but it is worth it in my opinion. I always sleep with an eye mask but if I didn't the light from the shower room window could be annoying but it did not bother me, particularly as the room itself has great blackout blinds.

The room was so spacious and nicely decorated! Bathroom was also spacious and beautiful. Staff was friendly. The location is PERFECT! You are right at the end of the old harbor so its quiet at night but all the action is just a 5 minutes walk. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is wonderful but the only thing to be mindful of is that there is no elevator and the staff isn't there 24/7. They have someone to help you with your luggage but only when they are there. So if you have a carry on and don't mind the stairs then no problem. If you are arriving or departing after hours it is a consideration if you have a large suitcase. (The hotel is in an historic building and our room was on the top floor.) All that said - WE LOVED THE HOTEL!

From the moment you step into the hotel, the staff put you at ease. Elia and Elina were absolutely wonderful hosts - welcoming, accommodating and went above and beyond. Elia looked after us in the hotel and gave great tips on restaurants. Elina served an amazing breakfast and was so accommodating to whatever we felt like. The owner of the hotel would do well to make sure both are paid well. The room was clean and classy and the location was great. Best hotel of our stay in Crete.

What an impressive property, beautiful room located on the water with a view to die for, from the quality of the bed, the linen, the pillows, and the eye for detail, I was very impressed !! But I have to give a huge thank you to the young woman that looks after the property Elia , she went out of her way to make my experience fantastic. Her recommendations of where to eat and where to visit on the island ( which she nailed) were excellent, thank you young lady for making me feel like part of the family and also to the staff at the bar and the young woman that served me breakfast every morning. Everything was great! The room was fully renovated and really modern with a spectacular view. It was also thoroughly cleaned every day. The location is perfect just in the middle of the Old Port of Chania. Despite of all the hustle, one could easily sleep at night as the room was soundproof. Furthermore, the staff was really nice, helping us with every matter at the reception (leaving the baggage as we had a late flight back or calling for a taxi) and satisfying our special requests at breakfast.

Great location, close to hundreds of cafés and restaurants. Beautiful big room better than expectations. Lovely sunset view from the balcony. Friendly, very accommodating staff went above and beyond to assist us with reservations and make our stay feel special. Very recommended!

Everything was lovely, but there is no elevator, so if you have mobility /accessibility issues make sure you are okay with the stairs.

The excellent location and beautiful room combined with staff who could not do enough to assist really made this trip very special. Elia in particular could not do enough to help. She gave great recommendations for local restaurants and even booked them for us! She was so thoughtful and really wanted to make our trip totally idyllic. The location is ideal for exploring Chania (and further afield), and our room (101) had a gorgeous view from the balcony of the harbour so it felt like one could enjoy the Old Port from the comfort of the room! The room was spotless and the air con was up to the task of a Cretan August. Really could not recommend this hotel enough!

Nothing- this really was an exceptional stay.

Very nice breakfast pasties meats and cheese toast and coffee or.tea, everything you could want for a light breakfast.. the room was perfect size, ocean view close to the tourist/ pedestrian area. Very helpful front desk! Gave us a good restaurant recommemdation. parking is difficult in such a crowded street. Fortunately we were returning a hertz rental car, and the return lot was just 2 blocks from the hotel. Walking through town and Knossos were great.
