Very friendly staff. The rooms are all mixed, but after initially being placed in a room where I was the only woman with 9 men, one of the receptionists arranged for me to move into a room that had other women in it. The beds are already made for you. The bathrooms are private.

Some of the top bunks don’t have safety railings which feels a little unsafe if you are a restless sleeper.

No supermarket or restaurant near the hotel (10 to 15min walk) Price is high for a hostel but i understand cost of everything in Iceland is double and triple other countries.

Cheapest (at the time) in Reykjavik does not mean worst in Reykjavik! Not even close. Nice kitchen. Clean, plentiful bathrooms. Long check-in hours + self check in the rest of the day/night.

The beds (at least in 10-bed room) are missing: -curtains for privacy -a small lamp -usb port to charge your phone -tiny shelf to put your glasses on at night all of which is pretty standard in hostels nowadays The beds are also connected together with screws- if another guest 2 bunk beds over moves, so will you.

This hostel is modern, clean and staffed by super-friendly and helpful folks. Everything, furniture and bedding, etc, felt new and nice. Thoughtful layout of beds, rooms, showers. Rooms, both solo and bunk (I stayed in both) were large. Kitchen and laundry on site were both well equipped. I felt comfortable and at home.

The location, while certainly safe and easy to locate and get to, is a little bit of a walk from BSI Bus Terminal, shopping, and restaurants. No big deal, but if you're expecting to have various options for food, shopping, etc. right outside of your front door...as in, "walk across the street"... you might need to manage your expectations. That said, it didn't take me long to walk most places.

The location was great. Kitchen clean and well organized. The washrooms were roomy and clean. Did not feel like a group washroom. Met lots of great people from around the world.

The mattress on the floor made it a little difficult to get out of. The mattress could be upgraded. A chair in the bedroom could assist in getting dressed in the many layers you need for Iceland. Lockers that could lock on them. There was at least 3 nights with no staff at night. Security could have been better. Feed a homeless man that was looking through the kitchen then sent him on his way. But how did he get in the first place. More information on what was happening in the community for new years. The tours from the Bus Station were great but when travellers found out their tour was at BSI instead made for a lot of anxiety. I am sure the staff get tired of having to explain the mistake and offer to call a taxi.

The cleaning staff are absolutely exceptional. the minute I would step out of the shower, they would be in there with a mop cleaning up the floors of all the water. They also cleaned up constantly after guests who seemed to think the rules didn't apply to them and that they could just leave their dirty dishes and leftover food scraps wherever they felt like. The cleaning staff are the standout of this place!! The bed was comfy, the rooms were nice.

Look, it's a bus hostel, so there's buses constantly coming and going outside, so if you are in a front room, you are going to have to deal with some noise. It's not too bad, but if you are a light sleeper, this could be a deal breaker for you.

Staff were quite pleasant to talk with and helpful. The room we had was quite comfortable to stay in and well furnished. Lots of showers and bathrooms (both are in the same room) for guests to use; I would imagine it would be difficult to find all of them in use at once if you needed to use it. This is walking distance from the FlyBus stop in Reykavik (ie. the airport bus from KEF) and pretty much at the outskirts of Downtown Reykjavik, which we liked. The walk is not too long, but the windiness of the city can make that seem a bit longer than it actually is. We did not do any tours during our stay, since we were going to rent a car for a road trip, but the Bus Hostel also serves as a starting point for a number of day tours, which can be super convenient for those who do not wish to drive.

No elevator on property, which does make things awkward if you have larger luggage or mobility impaired. Free food section can probably be better kept; we did see some stuff that probably should have been thrown out already.

Love that there are a lot of spacious bathrooms with the toilets and showers together, you get a lot of privacy compared to other hostels I tried. Kitchen was also very bug, well equipped and clean. Easy self check in with no end time was extremely convenient, also liked the fact that the beds are already made and not assigned to specific people, you could choose whichever.

Didn’t like that there are no shelves by the top bunk beds, so nowhere to put phone, glasses, water etc during the night. Also would really appreciate if the beds also had curtains for privacy.

Very well ran Hostel. Hour room didnt have its own bathroom but they have so many outside that it rlly didnt matter. Also they have a very nice and well equiped kitchen which they surprisingly manage to keep clean and organized given the huge number of guests constantly coming and going. Staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean room.

Only very small complaints but for some reason a lot of the electricity sockets dont work properly, the one in our room did work but it was the only one and it was far away from the beds. Also although the room was clean and smelled good for some reason one of the blankets we had came with a funky smell in it, maybe they crammed too many of them together in the washmachine and they werent able to clean properly bc the other one was fine and it clearly smelled like it was cleaned.

Very comfortable overall. Lots of seating in and around the kitchen, great for meeting people. The kitchen was stocked really well facilities (fridges, oven, microwave, hob, storage) and utilities (cutlery, cooking stuff). The bathrooms are nice and big but you have to wait during busy times. The staff were lovely and really helped transportation-wise

its pretty far from the city centre but still walkable / accessible by scooter. There was a lot of snoring in the room, but I managed fine with earplugs and a sleeping mask. The lockers in the rooms are also a bit small and don't lock properly
