A hidden gem in Reykjavik. Exceptional price/performance return. And they’re always there to help you by phone or by the app, 24/7. Beautiful clean, modern rooms with classy fittings. Everything well thought of. Be sure to read the instructions very carefully because this is a self check-in / check-out hotel, everything is digital. Including hotel entrance, opening/closing the doors, finding and getting in/out of your room. No front desk or staff on site. Everything will be sent to you with clear, precise instructions and photos/videos so make sure you read them.
Door keypads may take a little practice to make it work but no biggie really. And they’re always with you, on your phone, to help you :)

The room is clean and comfortable. Check-in is self-service, so you can arrive at any time (we paid in advance). All doors open with a code — no keys to carry around at all. The hosts are very responsive — they replied to our messages both late at night and early in the morning. There is parking available in front of and behind the building. However, we arrived late and all the spots were taken. Be careful where you park — most buildings on the street have signs warning that cars might be towed. If you can’t find a spot, there’s a temporary solution: at number 25 on the same street, you can leave your car there until 9 AM. That might come in handy.

The room was very comfortable, with a great bathroom. The location is nice and calm - just a 10 minute walk to the more bustling parts of the city.
Unfortunately, my room was on the lowest floor with a window facing a wall, which wasn’t ideal. I stayed for a week, and the window couldn’t stay open — the mechanism was broken, and the only way to keep it open was for me to physically hold it in place. I reported this to the staff on my first day, and they assured me that action would be taken, but, no one followed up or addressed the issue. I understand this is a self-check-in hotel, but it would be helpful to have someone available on-site for situations like this.

The hotel isn't in the city centre, but in a good location for walking there and for pickups for day tours. We received clear instructions for self check-in and using the luggage storage on the day we checked out. Clean, functional room and bathroom. When I mailed or called, staff was quick to respond and very friendly, and a change of towels was made available on request. The curtains fully block the light, which is very important in Icelandic summers. Our room was very quiet. Breakfast is served at a restaurant around the corner, less than five minutes away.
There was nothing bad about our stay, just a few recommendations for fellow travellers: We were on the second floor, which we reached with the elevator, but then we had to drag our suitcases up two short flights of stairs to get to our room. If you're less mobile, check room accessibility first. The tap water is safe to drink, but turn the tap to cold first. Lukewarm and hot water comes out a bit murky looking. That's normal in Iceland, but if you're not expecting it, it can be a surprise. Breakfast was OK, but there was no variation, and the coffee was bland. The communal lounge area is nicely furnished and comfy. You can load your electronic devices, but there's no vending machine, so it's not that appealing to spend longer amounts of time there.

The hotel was very clean and it looked exactly like the pictures, and the location was really good! It was like 20 minutes walk from the city center and there was a Bonus supermarket which was really good for us as we were on a budget. Accesing the hotel was really easy to understand and it was so much better than having a key and worrying about losing it. Also the parking was always available and right on the main road with also the posibility of parking in the back of the hotel which helped us in our last night. The room was always a nice temperature and we also had a nice view towards the city center. 10/10 will come here again if we come to Reykjavik!
we liked everything about it. We don't really have anything bad to say about it.

The stay was excellent! The room was beautiful, with a balcony offering a view of the Northern Lights. It was equipped with everything we needed, including a hairdryer, a desk, a fridge, and a kettle. The staff were very kind and friendly, which made the experience even better. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a long stay in Iceland.
We were checked in later than the stated time of 3 PM, which was inconvenient after a 20-hour journey. Also, the cleaning service could be improved — they only replaced towels and replenished coffee, but the bed linens were not changed during our 7-day stay.

Good value for the money. Located about 20-30 mins walk from the downtown area but a good place if you have a car. Rooms themselves were very nice, high end/ recently renovated looking, clean and comfortable enough for a few nights stay. Parking was adequate especially if you arrived earlier, though you are not guaranteed a space in front of the building or in the parking lot. Check in and out was easy enough for a place with no front desk, they sent many emails.
Parking can be difficult if you stay out into the evening but there is street parking in the area and it's free if you move the car early.

The check in was a breeze. They provided all the screenshots and video for self check in. The room is clean, we got the view of the mountains though there was some construction going on. The helpdesk is super responsive. They cleaned the rooms upon request and the housekeeping personnel were all so nice. The location is about 15 mins walk to Reykjavik centre. There is a bonus mart a blk away. A bakery up front and netto, another mart down the street. Overall for the price we paid for 10 days is worth it. We saw aurora on 4th jan and fireworks on alternate days, both right outside our window. Most tour pick up was done at hotel 22 about a blk away. So it was convenient. Iceland was amazing and we were glad we found hotel aska.
It is not exactly a hotel so dont expect hotel service. No reception at site. Everything is self check in. The room was on the smaller side. There are a few steps up and down to our room so managing our luggage was quite difficult bt the view was worth it.

Great rooms, the beds were really comfortable and the heating was really strong. Was super thankful for the luggage storage and the communal room. All of the tours offer pick up from around here which was great considering the walk into town is around 30minutes, which isn’t too bad unless it’s raining. Really good wifi. Supermarket just down the road.
Servicing needs to happen more regularly, we were here for 6 days and only had our room serviced once despite having the sign requesting it on the door from 8am - this meant that our bins were only emptied once and we were reusing towels which was a struggle. Thin walls so you can hear people walking and opening doors constantly. Would be better if there was some cutlery in the rooms.

The location is perfect. Near restaurants, retail shops, and a grocery store. The email messaging is effective and friendly. The off-site staff helped me coordinate a taxi for when I left Iceland.
I didn't know it was self-check-in. I discovered all the independent hotels on the street are self-check-in. There is no front desk staff. I called the customer service # for the hotel when I arrived. The lady stayed on the phone with me for 10 minutes while I found my room, which I deeply appreciated.
