I would especially like to note the work of the staff of Erika and Rokkos. They did their job well, were friendly and attentive. They helped with all questions. Many thanks to them! The hotel is located in a very picturesque place, each room has a terrace overlooking the lake. A full breakfast with hot and cold dishes is provided, there are eggs, sausages, oatmeal, very tasty local cheeses, bread, pastries. Breakfast is served with a view of the lake. The hotel has free parking, there is always enough space. In the lobby there are binoculars and you can explore the lake shore. The beds in the room are comfortable, there are extra pillows, robes. The hotel itself is very atmospheric, similar to a spa.

One of the best hotels I have stayed, if not the best. Breakfast had a variety of food and it was so good with the restaurant overlooking the lake! The room was clean and comfy and extraordinary at the same time. We were lucky enough to see northern lights on the first night we got there and we didn’t even had to step outside of the room cause we had a view overlooking the lake. The location is a bit far off of the city to each if you’re looking to unwind it cannot be better, but a 15 min car drive puts you in Reijkjavik! Staff kindly alerted us for the lights as soon has they were visible. Amazing hotel, lovely staff and incredible views, definitely going back !

very friendly staff, and decent food. The staff were aware of the fact that some parts are clean but outdated, so they graciously invited us to inspect and choose, and we accepted their offer to more to newer room with modern standards, and with a terrace and great view to the lake. We had a nice dinner and equally nice breakfast in the beautiful restaurant with friendly service!

The hotel itself is a bit strange, half is in a suprising style of a Mexican hacienda. We had booked a suite, it was spacious and clean but stylistically dated and esthetically challenged. Luckily we were offered a switch. The SPA section is still very outdated and Mexican, and the sauna didn't work.

The breakfast was absolutely fabulous, best I've had in a hotel in a very long time. Choices were great, loved that there was some very special local things like herring and cod liver oil available. Nice that they offered some prosecco, too. Delicious coffee. The decor was unique and interesting in a good way. The room was really spacious, the bathroom in particular. The room opened to a small terrace so we could easily go out and watch for Northern lights. The front desk, per our request, called us when they were visible. The person at check-in was SO kind and very helpful. The beds were incredibly comfy and the robes were a nice tough. Really nice toiletry products. Nice duo-head shower with good water pressure. At the spa area in the changing room was the most incredible massage chair! The location by the lake was so nice - felt woodsy and remote, even though we were not far at all from the city. It was a quick drive to Sky Lagoon where we headed in the morning. I would absolutely stay here again.

The "hot tub" was a little underwhelming. Pretty small and a little dirty, but nice and hot, as promised.

I booked the junior suite which is quite amazing. The nature view of the lake and surroundings are beautiful. The hotel staff was fun and easy going, The food is top notch and they have an outside hot tub for mingling with other guests. Best hotel I've tried so far in Iceland.

I liked everything but for those booking you should know it's 10-15 minutes from the city center which is a plus in my opinion but could be hard for those not renting a car and wanting to see the city, All else is perfect.

We thought the hotel location was amazing, being so close to the lake, with a rural setting, yet not far from Reykavik. The interior of the hotel was really full of character, quirky with a modern twist, and interesting, and the facilities were very good. The bedroom was very large, and bathroom decor excellent. The restaurant area was prepared to a high standard, and our evening meal was lovely. I liked the fact that they had a library, which included some English books, which I would have used had we stayed longer. Unfortunately we missed breakfast as we slept in, possibly due to jetlag & and the comfortable bed !!

Although the outdoor hot tub was exceptional, I did think that the immediate surroundings, that being the hotel exterior, at this area, could benefit from some minor cosmetic improvements..

The hotel is located in the suburb, however in a very quiet and nice location by a lake. This is very pretty. Parking just in front of the reception and area very calm! The view is very nice and the rooms are very big, very comfortable and very clean. I slept the best there out of my 9 days in Islands. The beds are particularly good. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice.

I didn’t find the spa and the area to go there is very strange… as I said I didn’t see where the spa was… but that was ok for a night.

Great location, incredibly comfy beds. The rooms were spacious and stylish and the shower was excellent - plenty of hot water and powerful! We saw the northern lights from our room, which opened up onto the lake. We had an amazing burger in the restaurant in the evening too! Teas and coffees at the bar were great.

The breakfast was quite expensive for what was on offer but it wasn’t bad at all and did the job to fuel us for a day of sight seeing! Warning of the gravel hills that you need to drive on to and from hotel - we skidded a bit in and out in the snow and ice.

The views of the lake, the tranquility, the luxury (Superior double room) + the quality-price, in the breakfast there was a bottle of Prosecco! I didn’t drink (too early) but was just cool to see it. The staff were polite and casual, didn’t make you feel out of place they were proper. The toilet had really nice fragrance and variety of toiletries: shower soap, conditioner, soap, hand soap, body lotion, also hair drier and hair straightener too, was WOW so complete but minimalist too, I love it

All the death animals around was sad and creepy, the big brown bear is not even from iceland… I think it is time to update with decoration or put a micro ecosystem of the area to keep it more local. There was also a TV with a video of fire, it felt a bit unnecessary and corny. That hotel is already cool without all these extras! sculptures of local artists, sofas, instruments or a fountain is better decoration and easy to maintain. Nothing of that bothered me too much though, but if I was you I would sell those animals and improve the deco.

My husband and I were amazed by how beautiful the hotel is, and the amenities offered are outstanding. The staff was absolutely attentive, courteous, and welcomed us like family. The breakfast buffet is the best in all of Iceland. I feast fit for a King & Queen. We chose to have our dinners in the restaurant with a picturesque view of the lake and the chef's menu was superb. We also enjoyed our only view of the Aurora Borealis at Hotel Kriunes after traveling Iceland's Ring Road for 10 days. We would highly recommend Hotel Kriunes for your stay . It's a quick transport to everything while being privately tucked into a solitude area.
