Very clean, very easy to get into your room (I actually like the code system so much better than the key or card which you can lose). Take a screenshot of your 4 digit code, you will use same code for both your room and front door. The staff responded very fast to any request (such as extra coffee pods). When I say fast, I mean seconds, not hours. Plenty of parking around the hotel, I don’t think you can ever not find a parking spot. The value of this hotel was amazing for Iceland. We would absolutely 100% stay here again and recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland.

This property was one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in, really clean, very cosy, decor is very modern and nice looking, felt very safe with the protocol of how to enter the hotel, good location just out of the main city centre about a 30 minute walk away. Door to the hotel is on the side of the building took us a couple extra minutes to find it once in the area. Hotel states there’s not a car park for parking but there is parking spaces out side the front that you can use and on the hill on the other side you can park your car there too for free, we never had a issue for parking. Very good value for money. No receptionist but if you give them a message or a call the staff will do as they can to help.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in total during our holiday in Iceland. The room was large, warm, clean and modern. The cleaner cleaned our room on a daily basis as requested. The pass code for entry to the room and lobby worked well. We had no issues at all. The location of the hotel is very good, close to reykjavik city only 10min drive away from there, it was located opposite hilton hotel. There's supermarkets nearby. Free parking outside in the front of the hotel. They don't provide breakfast, this was an only issue for us, however there is a fridge in the room so that helped. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Room was big and so modern, we loved it! Queens beds so comfortable, great mattresses and lovely bedding. We loved the coffee machine and what a nice gesture that coffee pods came with the room., as well as a big bowl of fruit. We absolutely didn’t mind lack of a receptionist as check in and check out couldn’t be any easier. It’s a great option getting in and out of the hotel and the room by using an electronic code, you never have to worry about loosing a key! Room cleaned on a request, all done as we’ve asked. Very good location of the hotel, Supermarket Netto 7 minutes walk and so many restaurants just down the road, especially amazing Mexican restaurant, all a bit cheaper than the restaurants in the heart of Reykjavik. Bus stop 5 minutes walk, bus 11 takes you to the city centre in around 10 minutes, frequent service. Thank you Alva for a lovely stay!

Very nice big rooms, and free available parking outside. Its not breakfest at hotel, but several other hotels and places nearby where you can have breakfast. its a little bit outside the Laugarvegur, but that also means its more quiet.

There was a funny smell in reception area, but it did not bother us. It is some distance from main street, but its also free parking. If you do not have car, three are also available this ewheels that will take you to city center for very littl emoney and within 5 minutes.

Excellent hotel for a stay in Reykjavík! Seamless check in procedure. Room was modern, stylish, with excellent amenities. Bed was super comfortable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely return in the future.

Would have been nice to have at least one receptionist on duty, for a sense of security, but it didn’t make any difference to our stay. Some of the carpets could also do with cleaning in the hallways.

Modern with facilities. It's one of the newer hotels outside Reykjavík city centre. For the price is much better then the expensive ones in the city centre which look out dated / from the past. Also self check in is excellent if you don't want to see the staff or just wat to do everything on your own. I don't see the staff at all when I stay, but for me that's fine. One of the less times I give 5 start to an hotel ;)

It's a bit further away from the city centre. I was in summer and then because of the higher temperatures it's easy to walk (30 min.), but when in winter you have to take an bus. The flybus when going from and getting to airport don't stop at this hotel. You have to take somewhere else, in my case Hilton Reykjavik Nordica.

The contactless check in was great! No wait times to speak with reception. We wasted no time at all which was perfect as we only had a 24 hour layover and wanted to explore as much as possible. The available luggage storage room was also amazing!

It was hard to find as the name was only visible when directly in front of the building. Had to call for help after circling the block a couple of times. Other than that the stay was perfect.

The hotel is quick new and clean. Self check-in instruction sent by message was clear and easy to access. Room size is suitbale for our family, and they provide fruits during our stays.

Parking spots were quickly taken as its next to a cafe. However, you can always park on the street too. I saw a microwave next to the vender machine, but is not connected to receptable, perhaps because they are still renovating the reception area. It would be great if its availabe for you to heatup the food when coming back from aurora spotting late at night.

Hotel Alva was a nice hotel! I would say this was the nicest stay we had during our trip to Iceland. It was kinda sketchy to find but once we found it, it was obvious. The front lobby was under construction, I assume it will be very nice once it is finished. The rooms were very nicely updated for sure! The decors and cleanliness was great! Putting in the codes to our room was always tough, it was hyper sensitive so it took the wrong codes every time and we were locked out once bc of this. Otherwise, it was an easy check in, we liked the nearby stores and it was very close to Reykjavík town. Would recommend!
