I had an excellent stay at this hotel! Hulia (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the delicious coffee available for guests—such a nice touch. Breakfast was also perfect, with a great variety and fresh options. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower and the convenience of a small fridge in the room. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Nice clean and recently renovated property. But the best thing was the *amazing* buffet breakfasts (included in the stay). Lots of choices, let's just say I over-indulged in the smoked salmon. Jams, pickled herring, other toppings, variety of breads (with a toaster of course), OJ and apple juice, fruit, tomatoes (locally grown, I think), rolls. Great coffee machine (except how do you adjust the strength? looks like it's possible, but I couldn't get it to work). If you're going on tours (which you should, unless you have a car), I think the nearest pickup place is the Hotel Island, less than a quarter mile away. Ask the concierge to point it out (or just look on your phone's map).

It's about a 1 1/2 mile (2km) walk to restaurant row in Reykjavik. You'll pass a couple others that are closer, but I didn't check them out. Also about 2 miles from the FlyBus terminal (tour buses start and end there too, but they'll drop you off at the Hotel Island). Hotels in Europe seem to all have quilt covers instead of separate sheet + blanket. I found the quilt too warm.

We checked in with a very professional and polite young lady. We had a small but cozy room on the first floor. Property was immaculate. We had a large, comfortable bathroom with great hot water. The building offers great security with door codes to get in. The dining area downstairs was lovely with art work and beautiful table settings. They offer a delicious cold cut buffet with breads, pastries, fruits, veggies, cereals, juices, tea, and coffee machine. They also have a chiller available with beers, wines, and sodas that can be purchased. The location has a small grocery just steps away and a delicious pizza restaurant within a short walking distance. They have their parking lot just a few steps outside the front door. Easy to get luggage in and out. They have delicious chocolates! Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was amazing. So much choice and the standard of the food was excellent. Staff were on hand at every moment to help with all enquiries. They really added to the experience. There was access to tea, coffee and hot chocolate 24 hours - something I really appreciated. And the home made cakes were amazing.

I honestly can't think of anything that could have been better. I actually loved being a 20 minute walk from the city centre because I got to see how people live in Iceland and the walk did me good.

Our original room was small, but the second day they found us a large room that had a balcony and living area. The staff was wonderful, they arranged our transport nation back to the airport on our final day, and made sure we had special pastries at breakfast. After staying in Iceland for 3 weeks, their breakfast was the best! Blueberries, bananas, figs and other fruits, a cake, muffins and fresh pastries, herring, tuna, lox, eggs, many kinds of breads cheeses cold cuts and yougart, etc! Great shower, comfie bed, 30 min walk to downtown.

We were unable to use the bus app and couldn’t ride the bus.

A lovely boutique hotel with a charming story of how it came about. If you have a chance to engage with the charming owner do ask her about it. On that note all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room, which was really a suite as it happens (we were upgraded) was very elegant and tastefully decorated.

I never quite got to grips with the light switches but that’s a minor quibble. It’s a lovely place to stay although slightly away from the centre of town. The flipside of that is it’s incredibly easy to navigate your way to the airport which is important if you need to get going to catch your flight!

Absolutely beautiful hotel, extremely friendly staff and conveniently located!! We walked downtown from the hotel for dinner and then rode the bus back (there’s a bus stop visible from the hotel entrance). The staff were accommodating, kind and offered recommendations to us. I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel and saw that several reviews on multiple Icelandic hotels mentioned “small/gross bathrooms,” so I feel obligated to mention that we both thought Hotel Lotus’s bathroom was so beautiful I took photos to replicate it at home! Size is relative to the individual using the restroom, so it’s possible that someone of large stature would consider them “small,” however this is standard for European bathrooms and we found it to be entirely functional and highly aesthetic. The provided breakfast was also incredible (AND they had free chocolate cake all day!). Don’t hesitate!! Hotel Lotus is where we will stay if we ever get the chance to go back to Iceland!!

There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t like! We loved our stay! Thank you Hotel Lotus!

We LOVED chatting with Julia at breakfast! The breakfast spread was very good as well! The coffee was wonderful too! Then there is our room…WOW! It was so large! We felt like we had enough space to be as comfortable as home! The heated floors and the heated towel rack was absolutely wonderful!!! Our bathing suits were dry when we packed them to leave! That was really great because we won’t use them on the rest of our trip! The bed was very comfortable too! I brought my own hello because I don’t usually like the ones in a hotel, but I didn’t even need to pull it out of my suitcase. Your pillows were lovely. We like that we had a choice between two different kinds. It feels as if you thought of everything!

I don’t think I could name anything. I wish I could think of at least one thing, but I really can’t think of anything that would have improved our stay. Hotel Lotus will be recommended to anyone we know going to Iceland. You made our stay wonderful! Thank you! We hope to come and stay again!!!

The perfect place for our last two nights in Iceland. Helpful and friendly staff and owner who lends a personal touch through lovely artwork and stories. Very comfortable and stylish room, great breakfast and a packaged breakfast was easy to arrange for a very, very early flight. Good wifi, easy parking, not so far from down town and close to local supermarkets, car wash and restaurants.

Nothing at all!

The staffs are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great wit many choices. The small dining room provide coffee and tea and cakes free of charge all day long which is very friendly to the guests. The room is very clean. Even it is a bit away from the city center, since the city is very small, all the highlight spots can be reached on foot. The short walk towards the harbor is a must see

The only thing, perhaps is only to me, is that the room is the blanket is a bit too warm to me, even I switch off the heating but still was sweaty in the night.
